Alghero is the heart of the N-W coast. A lot of attraction, beach parks historical sites nightlife, better to enjoy starting from a relaxin rural spot.
I like to live with my family in our oak woods (steps from the villas, Myrtus-Albatro-Lentiscus, and just 5 minutes driving from it all) on the road to Maria's Sanctuary, pilgrimage and paradise for runners and bikers thanks to the bike trail.
Myrtus and Lentiscus villas fit for 8 people as have 3 double and 2 bathrooms. Albatro villa fit for 7 people as have 2 doubles and 1 single bedroom, plus 2 bathrooms. In each villa a sofabed in living room is provide. Each villa has completly private facilities.
We are a family of 4, Daniele (5) and Irene (7) in the picture.
Our first passion is travel and we like live in the countryside, that's why we build our villa in our oak forest just steps from the villas.
Alessandra purchased this villa in 2007
We were born in Alghero in 70s and we always dream to growup our babies in this corner of Sardinia, the last oak cork woods near our town
relax, easy acess to Alghero with is beach and historical city center. Just 15 minutes from the airport... could ask more than this?
thank you very much for the use of your beautiful House. We have had a great time in Alghero and leave with good memories. We have also appreciated the way you have welcome us and helped during our stay. We would be glad to come back!
This villa worked out well for us with our two children, with all the facilities we needed and its not to far from alghero and the beaches. The location was very peaceful and with Giuseppe looking after us very well, it was very relaxing. I would recommend to all. The only thing we could have done with is a dvd player for the children.
After 30 years we decided to go back to Sardinia and we picked Alghero as main destination.
The house is really nice, with everything you need for a pleasant stay : spacious rooms, huge garden with some big plants ( shade ) a double porch ( good for breakfast and lunch outside ) and a pool:
Riccardo and Alessandra, our hosts, have been perfect in welcoming and helping us with info and suggestions about the surroundings.
Despite our original idea to wander around in the region we enjoyed so much the house that we spent most of the time in the pool or in the garden. We will certainly come back again. Thanks !
We had a wonderful stay here. The Villa is spacious with a large garden and an immaculately clean pool. It is set in a very peaceful countryside location but it is only ten minutes by car to Alghero town. There are numerous great beaches close by and further along the coast. Alghero itself is very nice and the old town in the evening is wonderful for a drink or a meal.
Ricardo and Alessandra looked after us brilliantly from start to finish and we are already planning to go back in the near future.
If you want to unwind in a proper Sardinian setting then this is for you.
Staying in Myrtus villa turned out to be one of the most enjoyable holidays we've had. We were met late at night by the very helpful and welcoming Riccardo on the edge of Alghero, who then led us along the short 5 minute drive from the town to the villa. As it was late, after letting us in and quickly showing us around Riccardo returned the next morning to show us round the villa in more detail, making sure everything was working and to our satisfaction, and show us on the maps in the villa the best places to visit during our stay. This was invaluable being our first visit to the area and you can't beat local knowledge. Riccardo continued to call in during our stay, again making sure everything was to our liking.
The villa itself is in a beautiful rural location providing everything for our basic needs. It was clean and comfortable, easily accommodating our party of 4, and in the height of summer it is set up ideally for an outdoor lifestyle (we spent very little time inside). It has good size pool, which is cleaned regularly and large garden to wander around in. The electric gates and lots of outdoor lighting made it a safe and secure environment.
Alghero itself is a great town to spend time in, lots to see in the old town, bars and restaurants a plenty, fantastic beaches both in the town and nearby, and a busy yet relaxing night life. Our only criticism would be that the restaurants seem to be a little above themselves, providing average food at OK prices, but the starters often worked out more than the mains which could make for a very pricey meal. As the town was so busy during our stay, table booking was a must and the paid for parking was at a premium.
All in all we loved Sardinia and will be sure to return again in the future.
Many thanks to Riccardo and Alessandra for letting us stay in your beautiful villa and for your efforts in retrieving and returning my camera to the UK.
The villa is situated in a very quiet area abundant with wildlife whilst close enough to all amenities including the amazing beaches. The pool is lovely and kept very clean. The villa itself is perfect and more than adequate for our family of 4. The kids especially loved the animals at the bottom of the garden! Sheep, rabbits and chickens!! We certainly hope to return to both Alghero and this wonderful tranquil setting! Thank you for having us!!
Our family had an amazing time in this great villa just outside Alghero. Location was perfect. Nice and quiet and in the countryside yet only a few minutes from the beautiful town of Alghero and all it's lovely restaurants and shops. Not far too from the beautiful beaches along the northwest coast and great day trips like Bosa. Pool was lovely and house had everything you'd need. But what really make this place special was the service and the friendly welcome we got on arrival - with loads of tips of where to go / shop / eat etc. Nothing was too much trouble and help was always at hand if needed. We'd definitely return. A real find !!
Alghero is the heart of the N-W coast, the most beatiful corner of the Mediteranean sea:
- beaches: Pelosa in stintino is the best, than Porto Ferro Porticciolo Lazzaretto Mugoni and Poglina are my favorites.
- Natural parks: Capo Caccia (sea park), Porto Conte (land park), Asinara (National park), but don't forget Neptune's caves.
- Catalan historical town center with restaurant, bars and night life, don't miss the promenade on the fortification
- Sardinian pre-historical sites: nuraghe Palmavera, 'Anghelu Ruju' Domus de Janas, but also Monte Baranta
- Wine lovers? don't miss the best italian wineyard Sella&Mosca
