Have the Caribbean getaway of a lifetime by staying at 'Flamingo Sunset,' an exquisite Tortola vacation rental villa, situated in the prestigious Belmont Estates area on the West End of the island. Perfectly located within minutes of immaculate beaches, excellent snorkeling, and many other notable attractions, this outstanding villa will let you thoroughly experience the best of the British Virgin Islands!
This stunning 4-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom residence was recently built in summer 2014 by the best local architect Edwin Adams, who is well known for his unique vision. You’ll find Flamingo Sunset's large, spacious interior to be impeccably appointed throughout with all-new modern amenities and a variety of upscale touches, such as beautiful hand-made Balinese teak furniture and a custom hand-made maple kitchen, constructed on the island. This house is also fully air conditioned, which is a rare feature for properties in the British Virgin Islands. You and your guests will love gathering in the welcoming first floor Great Room, where contemporary furnishings and a state-of-the-art kitchen provide an exceptional space for living, eating, and socializing together. A large covered dining balcony accessible from the Great Room serves as an idyllic venue for a memorable evening meal - complete with a postcard-worthy backdrop of sensational island scenery, which is particularly striking as the sun goes down, you’ll find that every meal out here feels like a special occasion!
Look forward to spending relaxing afternoons lounging by the villa’s private full-sized infinity swimming pool, one of the largest in all of Tortola. You’ll also find an outside bar, grill, and outdoor shower for your convenience. The villa is positioned in a unique way that has 180-degree Caribbean sunset views, as well as sights of the Atlantic, overlooking the international border between the United States and British Virgin Islands. The views here are unimpeded by other houses or structures - rather, your views include pleasant glimpses of tropical forest, Belmont Pond known to host guest flamingos, Belmont Hill, and the glorious ocean. Lush, green tropical foliage literally embraces the villa’s balconies, making you feel as though you’re in your own exotic island hideaway - welcome to paradise!
Spend your vacation mornings by going for a leisurely hike or swim, before returning home to unwind by the pool with a cool beverage and your favorite book. The roads in Belmont are private and therefore very quiet, with no passing through cars at all. These roads will take you to the most breathtaking views of all the different islands of the BVI chain. After some pool time, embark on a fascinating snorkeling trip from Soper's Hole, accessible in just 10 minutes by car. This marina offers charming restaurants, coffee shops, and plenty of quaint boutiques to explore. If you’re in the mood for a more vigorous undersea adventure, indulge in a long 2-mile snorkeling excursion - if you swim beyond the Gun Point, the promontory that hugs the Smuggler’s Cove from the West, you will find yourself in some amazing coral gardens! Smuggler’s Cove Beach is conveniently a quick 10-minute walk away from the villa.
You simply can’t beat this villa’s perfect location - from here, you’ll be an easy 10-minute drive away from the International Ferry Point in West End with multiple daily passenger ships over to St. Thomas and St. John, USVI. Long Bay Resort with its restaurants, bars, tennis courts, and fitness facilities can be reached in just 3 minutes by car. A 10-minute drive is all that stands between the villa and Cane Garden Bay, where you can enjoy live music, glass stores, and good restaurants. A short 5-minute walk will take you to the gorgeous Long Bay Beach, a one-mile long white-sanded beach that is considered among the most beautiful beaches on Earth. Whether you’re traveling to the British Virgin Islands on a romantic getaway, family vacation, or much-needed rejuvenating retreat, this lavish Tortola vacation rental house truly leaves nothing to be desired!

We had a wonderful time. The Villa was so nice. We were able to enjoy the vacation and also cook for ourselves. Made for a wonderful experience.
Thanks to a great rental agency team, we booked and enjoyed a week at this big, new villa overlooking smugglers bay, with views that go on forever. The house was well appointed and well supplied with everything needed. Big, airy rooms, nice pool. The rental agents were very available for any question. I definitely recommend this villa for 4 - 8 people.
The road that the house is on is sketchy, so definitely get a jeep from Jerry's Rental. Driving on the island is challenging.
The only down-side to the villa, is that the indoor-quality tiling throughout is the same both inside and outside, which becomes VERY slippery (and dangerous) on outside and poolside areas when wet.
Place was gorgeous. The staff did everything they could to help us. I highly recommend this place
This review is quite late, but it was overlooked. Our stay was May 6-15, 2015.
The location of the villa is ideal. Smugglers cove is down below. You could walk about half a mile along an unpaved road to arrive at the idyllic beach. The views are outstanding from the villa.
If you are visiting during hot and humid months, air conditioning is very nice to have. On the contrary, this villa is not the open concept you see in many traditional Caribbean villas with ample outdoor living space. We would have liked some comfortable outdoor furniture on the terraces beyond dining chairs. We found the dining chairs not to be ideal for lounging on the upper deck. There are also a few loungers by the pool that you might see at Costco.
Likewise, seating in the living area is minimal at best. The sectional sofa was not adequate for the three of us to relax and enjoy a movie.
The kitchen is adequate, but stocked with just the basics for cooking. A chef would be wanting for cookware. I do realize the villa was new last year, so this may continue to improve.
Beds are comfortable. Linens are good.
The management of the villa left a little to be desired. We had four days with significant disruptions with workers: half a day for lawn crew (understandable, but four hours including the lunch break right outside the front door? Very unprofessional), half a day to fill the cistern which ran out during our stay (this should be on a check list), another day of visits to repair an air conditioner that was known to have issues, and finally the pilot light was not relit after the cistern was refilled. I just had way too many issues to deal with on vacation, most of which could have been prevented by diligent management and a more professional lawn service. The villa manager and all workers were very friendly!
We really enjoyed the location and Smugglers beach. Tortola is a nice island, although lacking in good restaurants like you find in the French islands.
I am not saying this is a bad villa, but I would not return based on the many villas I have booked over the years.
We had absolutely fantastic time in Tortola. The villa, Flamingo Sunset, was very lovely and met all our needs: spotless clean, fully functional gourmet kitchen with all necesseties, very nice bathrooms, comfortable beds, and interesting design. The kids loved the full size warm smimming pool that was kept in impeccable condition. The villa has 2 very large patios with a breathtaking view of the Caribbean sunset. There was a great selection of books and DVDs at the villa. We didn't get a chance to watch anything on TV, because everyone enjoyed being outside so much.
But the best part of all, of course, the white sand beaches with clear turquoise coloured water. This was our first time in BVI and we were endlessly amazed by the colour and warmth of the water. We swam with snorkeling gear and observed beautiful coral reefs with various types of fish and sea creatures. The closest beach from the villa is about 5 -8 min walk and is very well kept and has its own small coral reef. It was by far the most relaxing and rejuvenating vacation and we will come back.
This was a surprise, how nice and clean everything would be. It was top notch in quality bedroom amenities, the decks, patios and views were wonderful. Only negative was that darn couch. There was 5 of us and so we had to have a movie night and lots of late not chats, the couch is a bummer. The good news if you just stay out on beautiful patios and decks you never have to visit in living area, but that isn't realistic. We loved this place and have told many on our travels it was best place to stay, and awesome place to experience a tropical storm!
