About the property

Estate, 6 Bedrooms, 5 Baths, Sleeps 20

Be one of the discerning to discover all that Cranberry Castle and northern Wisconsin have to offer. With 8,500 square feet under air this massive luxurious log and stone cabin is ready to make memories and has been featured on Travel Wisconsin, Discover Wisconsin and in the USA Today!

HOUSE FEATURES:

The “Castle” is truly high end with no expense spared. Some features include a whole home ipod ready stereo system, full British Columbian cedar (not pine) log interior and partial exterior with real Door County stone, hickory/oak/cherry hardwood floors, imported tile/travertive, Brazilian rosewood cabinets, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The vaulted ceilings and towering lakeside windows provide beautiful views.

LOCATION:

Located on Cranberry Lake on the famous Eagle River Chain, the largest chain of interconnected lakes in the world. The clean and easily navigable lakes are perfect if you are looking to swim, ski, fish or just take the boat out for dinner. At just under 1,000 acres Cranberry is the second largest and last lake on the Eagle River chain. There are no restaurants on Cranberry Lake so boat traffic on the lake is minimal. Cranberry Castle sits on a level lot with pristine sand frontage on quiet “Musky Bay”. On top of this the house is on a dead end and a ten minute drive from the quaint shops of downtown.

KITCHEN FEATURES:

The main chef's kitchen is fully furnished should you choose not to take your boat out to dinner. It features a 48' Viking Professional natural gas stove complete with a grill and griddle, Wolf stainless steel double oven, Wolf warming tray, a large Sub-Zero side by side fridge/freezer, Wolf microwave and Kitchen Aid stainless steel dishwasher. There is also a guest kitchen upstairs complete with a stove/oven/microwave and full fridge/freezer should you need more space.

GREAT ROOM FEATURES:

Sitting at the pub table enjoying a glass of wine is a great place to take in the lake views. Other features include an open floor plan, carved pool table with ample seating, bumper pool table, Yamaha grand piano, beautiful stone fireplace, big screen HDTV and a full size pull out sleeper sofa.

MASTER BEDROOM & BATHROOM HIGHLIGHTS:

The master bedroom sits in the upper south tower with vaulted ceilings and gorgeous lake views. It features a rustic log bed, memory foam queen mattress with high thread count cotton sheets and a wall mounted 32” HDTV. There is a glass enclosed double shower and vanity along with an walk-in closet and jetted tub.

PATIO AND YARD HIGHLIGHTS:

The grand patio offers two full deep seating sets with seating for ten, a full stone outdoor fireplace, built in stainless steel natural gas grill, charcoal Weber and speakers running off the house stereo. Just off the patio on one side of the house sits an outdoor spa (operational May-October) with seating for six including a recliner. On the other side sits an eight foot western red cedar barrel sauna (operational May-October) with seating for six to warm up on a cool night. The large level yard has ample space to set up a volleyball net and throw the football around. The lakeside hammock warrants a competition for who can get there first. The children can build sandcastles on the beach, play in the water, go down the waterslide and swim out to the floating raft. There are also two kayaks provided which are not pictured. The large aluminum dock has a 200 square foot platform with seating for six, great for relaxing and taking in the tranquility of the Northwoods. There are also permanent bumpers on the dock for two boats but it can easily accommodate more watercraft. The lakeside fire pit seats 16 and is great for making s'mores and telling stories. There are six additional recliners provided that can be placed wherever you feel necessary.

UPPER NORTH TOWER BEDROOM & BATH HIGHLIGHTS:

The upper north tower sits opposite the master and is sometimes referred to as the “other master”. Beautiful views, vaulted ceilings, California king bed, a Terry Redlin print and a 32” wall mounted HDTV complete this room. The bathroom features a granite counter top, complete wrap of tile and cedar along with a glass enclosed shower.

THEATER ROOM:

Comfortable seating for ten, an Infinity surround sound system with 300 watt sub woofer, popcorn machine (pre-measured packets provided), HD projector with Direct TV, Blu-Ray/DVD and Roku to watch Netflix with your account make this a perfect place to watch the game or have family movie night.

SUNROOM:

Lake views, rustic décor (including trophy muskie mount and carved stump coffee table), a heated travertine floor and over sized wicker chairs make this an ideal place to enjoy morning coffee. This is the best place to watch the deer run through the yard.

LIVING ROOM, DINING & BAR

The living room features a cozy sitting area with two Bernhardt plush leather sofas and matching loveseat around the warm stone fireplace. The massive main dining table was hand made in house and harvested from an oak tree on the property. It has has seating for twelve with two beautiful chandeliers overhanging. The log bar area is the perfect place to relax and watch the game.

LOWER LEVEL BEDROOMS:

The two lower level bedrooms sit beneath the master and share a bathroom. Each features a memory foam queen, high thread count cotton sheets, wall mounted HDTVs and rustic décor.

OTHER FEATURES:

Commercial grade game tables including air hockey, foosball and ping pong round out the list of things to do on a rainy day. A hotel grade water system allows all showers to run together without pressure loss. A water treatment system provides bottled water quality right from the tap.

About Brandon

We purchased a smaller home on the lot in 2000 for the beautiful frontage and quiet bay. We then built Cranberry Castle as our dream retirement home with plenty of space for visits from our children's families. Cranberry Castle was completed in 2006 and we had some great times up there with family and friends. We continue to update and upgrade the property every year. We do not get to use the cabin as we had hoped and have decided to let others enjoy our family home.

Brandon purchased this estate in 2000

Winter Wonderland!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Cranberry Castle between Christmas and New Year's with 5 families total and 11 children. We had a fabulous time! The house was spacious enough to fit our group and only 2 families had to share a bathroom. The kitchen is stocked with cutlery, pots and pans but bring your own spices, including salt and pepper. Our group brought extra toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags which was very helpful. The winter activities were perfect for our group. We skied at Brule mountain which was approximately 45 minutes away. We also went on a sleigh ride in Eagle River and went to the Nordic center for tubing and sledding in Minocqua. Brandon (the owner) and Roger (the caretaker) were extremely helpful to us and made sure all went smoothly with the rental house. We're hoping to come back next holiday!

"A Little Piece of Heaven"

  • 5 of 5

My family of 20 members and I consisting of my siblings, nieces, nephews, mom and dad and Uncle stayed at the Cranberry Castle October 19 - 23, 2016. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Our family member ages ranged from 10 years old to 82 years old. There was something for everyone to do at the house. Although, the time of the year is not ideal for things to do in town or the surrounding towns we still kept ourselves entertained with the games, table games, puzzles... We even brought some old family DVDs and we all sat in the Theatre and watched them. It was so much fun! The pictures on line do not do this house justice! It is absolutely beautiful. In Brandon's description of the house he states that "nothing was spared". That is a true statement. A lot of thought went into the design, layout and decorations/accommodations. We are definately coming back in the summertime. Thank you Brandon for offering your wonderful place on VRBO! The Neuman Family

Amazing Place to Stay in Northern Wisconsin

  • 5 of 5

My extended family and friends spent a weekend at this amazing location and we all had a blast! Cranberry Castle is literally the size of a castle and has everything you would need for a fun weekend away from home. The owner was great to work with and very accommodating. I had no complaints and will definitely be looking to stay here again!

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Our three generations, to include 6 teenagers, loved our stay at Cranberry castle. The house was amazing. Spacious and comfortable. Comfy beds. I love to cook, and the kitchen didn't disappoint. The kids loved the foosball, pool, air hockey, and ping pong tables. Lots of memories made! Evenings on the patio. Smores at the fire pit. Football in the backyard. The lakes were fantastic for fishing (3 muskies over 40"!!) and water sports. The dock accommodated our three boats just fine. We loved sunset cruises and boating over to dinner. Wonder place. Loved it. Highly recommend.

Becker Family

As previous mentioned we really enjoyed our week . Your attention to detail before during and after was outstanding. Your house was more than adequate for for our family. Plenty to do inside on the rainy day and plenty of room outside for games and fun. Great front yard and beach. We used the fire pit and grill and fishing pier and outside fireplace. Lots to do on premise without having to go elsewhere. The garage was also used for various reasons. Also your recommendation on Bubba boats worked out well for tubing and sight seeing.

Eagle River is a top vacation destination because there is so much to do! Our favorite thing and what drew us to the area was the 28 interconnected lakes forming the largest chain of lakes in the world. Imagine a full day of cruising the lakes on a pontoon, laughing with family and friends, a well-stocked cooler, listening to oldies, pulling tubes behind for the children, jumping in the water to cool off and stopping at various restaurants along the way. This is truly an up north paradise. Please contact us to have a luxury pontoon or high end jet skis delivered to the dock. With class A rated musky lakes, Eagle River is great for fishing too! My wife loved the quaint shops of downtown. Fall brings crisp air, beautiful colors, and art festivals. This is a great time to hike in the nearby Nicolet National Forest. Winter is absolutely beautiful and Eagle River is the snowmobile capital of the world. With well-groomed and marked trails this is a fitting place for the championship snowmobile derby. Other activities include a half hour drive to the nearest ski hill and casino. For seasonal events please visit: http://www.eagleriver.org/
