The “Castle” is truly high end with no expense spared. Some features include a whole home ipod ready stereo system, full British Columbian cedar (not pine) log interior and partial exterior with real Door County stone, hickory/oak/cherry hardwood floors, imported tile/travertive, Brazilian rosewood cabinets, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The vaulted ceilings and towering lakeside windows provide beautiful views.
Located on Cranberry Lake on the famous Eagle River Chain, the largest chain of interconnected lakes in the world. The clean and easily navigable lakes are perfect if you are looking to swim, ski, fish or just take the boat out for dinner. At just under 1,000 acres Cranberry is the second largest and last lake on the Eagle River chain. There are no restaurants on Cranberry Lake so boat traffic on the lake is minimal. Cranberry Castle sits on a level lot with pristine sand frontage on quiet “Musky Bay”. On top of this the house is on a dead end and a ten minute drive from the quaint shops of downtown.
The main chef's kitchen is fully furnished should you choose not to take your boat out to dinner. It features a 48' Viking Professional natural gas stove complete with a grill and griddle, Wolf stainless steel double oven, Wolf warming tray, a large Sub-Zero side by side fridge/freezer, Wolf microwave and Kitchen Aid stainless steel dishwasher. There is also a guest kitchen upstairs complete with a stove/oven/microwave and full fridge/freezer should you need more space.

Just off the patio on one side of the house sits an outdoor spa (operational May-October) with seating for six including a recliner. On the other side sits an eight foot western red cedar barrel sauna (operational May-September) with seating for six to warm up on a cool night. The large level yard has ample space to set up a volleyball net and throw the football around. The lakeside hammock warrants a competition for who can get there first. The children can build sandcastles on the beach, play in the water, go down the waterslide and swim out to the floating raft. There are also two kayaks provided which are not pictured. The large aluminum dock has a 200 square foot platform with seating for six, great for relaxing and taking in the tranquility of the Northwoods. There are also permanent bumpers on the dock for two boats but it can easily accommodate more watercraft. The lakeside fire pit seats 16 and is great for making s'mores and telling stories. We purchased a smaller home on the lot in 2000 for the beautiful frontage and quiet bay. We then built Cranberry Castle as our dream retirement home with plenty of space for visits from our children's families. Cranberry Castle was completed in 2006 and we had some great times up there with family and friends. We continue to update and upgrade the property every year. We do not get to use the cabin as we had hoped and have decided to let others enjoy our family home.

A bunch of the guys came up for the pond hockey tournament. The owner was very accommodating with out later arrival than originally planned. Check-in was a breeze and we were amazed at the property. What a great place to spend a weekend! The kitchen was well equipped, the living areas had tons of table games (pool, shuffleboard, ping pong, etc.), and there was even a theater room that was great! The owner was quickly responsive via text message for any questions we had. We all talked about how awesome the place has got to be in the summer since it's on the lake! I would highly recommend this place to anyone considering a stay in the area, due to the clean and well-maintained property, and the attentiveness and customer service of the owner.
Gorgeous Home - Must Rent
If you are looking for a clean beautiful home home, on the lake, with gorgeous views and state-of-the-art accomodations, this is the one for you. My family and some friends went up North for MLK weekend and we stayed at Cranberry Castle. People spent their time playing pool, air hockey, and ping pong and we watched the NFL playoffs on the theater size HD screen. Everyone really enjoyed their stay and we are talking about going back again. We were truly impressed.
We LOVE Cranberry Castle!!!
I spent my summers as a kid coming up to Eagle River to visit my family who lived up here. Some of my favorite childhood memories are from up north, so when it came to finding a place to get married - I knew it would be the perfect place. Everything about Cranberry Castle is absolutely amazing. We booked a year in advance for our wedding, over Labor Day weekend. I was wedding planning from Washington and never actually visited in person until our wedding weekend. Brandon was SO helpful and resourceful throughout the year answering every question I had, giving recommendations, even walking the lawn and taking additional photos so I could have a better visual for planning. We had our friends stay, a total of 13 (including my wife and I), in the house for the weekend and our family stayed at a lodge near by. 13 is a lot of people to stay over at a place and I will tell you it was not in the least bit crowded. I felt like no one was there! The place is SO big. All of the details are so beautiful but my favorite part about the house was the layout. It is so thoughtful and intentional. You can really tell the house was created to be a fun place to spend with family. Even though there are two floors, it's only a couple stairs, and the way it's set up it just flows so smoothly and doesn't feel like there's a separation. When we arrived we had a few questions, I texted brandon and he got back to me with all the answers we needed instantly. We planned on having our wedding outdoors on the beautiful lawn.. but it rained. However, having it inside was better than we could've ever imagined. The sound system played through the whole house and again the layout was just so perfect from where we set up our appetizers and bar, to being able to put a photo booth in the theatre. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer!!! The weekend went by so fast. Sunday we rented a boat and cruised the chain at sunset. When we got home we grilled dinner and enjoyed it on the patio with a fire in the patio fireplace. Just thinking about it makes me smile and gives me goosebumps at the same time because it was so perfect. I'm pretty sure we looked at every property in Eagle River and I cannot express how happy I am that we chose Cranberry Castle. All of our guests were so impressed and have talked about coming back for family reunions! I could go on forever about how wonderful it is. Thank you, Brandon, for being such an amazing host we cannot wait to return.
Grandma's Gift of Love
Words are not truly adequate, any more than the pics of Cranberry Castle online are, to show the grandeur, yet warmth of this beautiful massive log cabin family home that we were able to rent for our family get together. One senior, my five children, three spouses in 30s & 40s & 8 children from ages 4 to 12. We had beautiful weather all but one rainy day and the trip to Bonds Falls was fun and nature at its best. Kids caught small fish, crawfish, frogs, teeny toads, everyone saw deer, enjoyed the beach, all learned to use the great kayaks, even 4 & 5 yr olds!!! Had an Olympic competition night with all the adults on all the fun game tables. Kids loved the theater for movies!!! Brandon was 100% accessible for any questions or minor issues and handled it promptly. A really fine proprietor!!! I don't think it would be my choice for 1 -3 year olds with the stone floors but as I was recovering from a hip replacement, everything I needed was easy to maneuver with a grab safety bar in bathroom next to my bedroom on the first floor. The extra supplies you might want are paper products, plastic garbage bags and tissue boxes. The view out of every window was so peaceful. There is a huge patio with more seating than you would expect. It was sunny until mid-afternoon when the house provided enough shade. We had such great conversations every night around the huge outdoor fireplace. I could go on & on about Cranberry Castle but suffice it to say you will not be disappointed. We will return. My family members sent me such wonderful thank you notes. I had looked at the photos so many times in the year prior to our visit but when we arrived, got out of the car, walked thru the entryway my eyes filled with tears at the beautiful home in front of me. You and yours will treasure this rental for all the special memories the rest of your lives...
Wonderful, well equipped, and designed property
Rented for 50th anniversary family reunion. Could not have been more pleased. Beautiful grounds and waterfront. We'll equipped kitchen . Extensive activity options-e.g. multiple games, theater room
Cranberry Castle is a wonderful place!
We had a big family reunion at the Castle. It was perfect for our family and although we were 25, the house could accommodate all of us very comfortably. There is so much to do at the house and the spaces are so well thought, that we never felt jammed or bumping on each other. A lot of indoor games and everything very well maintained.
Great overall infrastructure, the lake was awesome and the location super convenient. Eagle River is not too far and there is a lot of infrastructure there for all your supermarket needs, etc.
Brandon Small was great. He was very courteous and made our stay at Cranberry Castle something that will stay in our memories. If you are thinking of having a great time with a large group, you won't go wrong with this place!
Eagle River is a top vacation destination because there is so much to do! Our favorite thing and what drew us to the area was the 28 interconnected lakes forming the largest chain of lakes in the world. Imagine a full day of cruising the lakes on a pontoon, laughing with family and friends, a well-stocked cooler, listening to oldies, pulling tubes behind for the children, jumping in the water to cool off and stopping at various restaurants along the way. This is truly an up north paradise. Please contact us to have a luxury pontoon or high end jet skis delivered to the dock. With class A rated musky lakes, Eagle River is great for fishing too! My wife loved the quaint shops of downtown. Fall brings crisp air, beautiful colors, and art festivals. This is a great time to hike in the nearby Nicolet National Forest. Winter is absolutely beautiful and Eagle River is the snowmobile capital of the world. With well-groomed and marked trails this is a fitting place for the championship snowmobile derby. Other activities include a half hour drive to the nearest ski hill and casino. For seasonal events please visit: http://www.eagleriver.org/
