About Justina Carlson
My family has owned property in Wellfleet since 1972. I returned here to retire, drawn back by Wellfeet's great beauty and unique character. Like so many 'year 'rounders,' I volunteer in our town's government. My husband shellfishes --- raking for clams in the pink sunrise!
Why Justina Carlson chose Indian Neck Heights
There simply aren't many classic Cape Cod cottage colonies left on the waterfront. We wanted the simplicity of the barefoot, sandy, beach summers we grew up with.
What makes this Cottage unique
Any bad mood vanishes, as soon as you turn onto Hiawatha road and see 'Sewell's Gutter,' the estuary that flows into the beach. At the cottage, the beach immediately lures you from the patio---to stroll and see what's happening at the water. The air smells like salt. Children run free, and adults often start thinking of a glass of wine & grilling something for dinner...

Perfect spot on Wellfleet
My husband and I spent 4 nights in Justina’s cottage on Wellfleet. What a perfect spot both in terms of location right on Indian Neck as well as the condition of the cottage. Cleanliness is something very important to me and this hit all the marks. Justina was ever so gracious to help us out with a linen issue as well as providing additional blankets when the weather turned cold. This cottage is a gem and I look forward to another stay...this time longer. Thank you Justina for being such a gracious host.
Beautiful, Relaxing, and Easy - Perfect Getaway with a Toddler
We had a fantastic trip here and highly recommend for a getaway with small kids. We had a wonderful stay in early September. The beach was secluded and beautiful, the water warm and calm, and we had a blast letting our 19 month old explore the tide pools and look for sea critters. Short walk to the beach made it easy to schlep all the gear for a kid. The cabin itself was cozy and comfortable and had everything we needed. While the cabin patio isn't beachfront, we still found hanging out there peaceful and relaxing as it is breezy and shady. Justina was a great host. There was an issue with the water for the community while we were there and Justina kept us supplied with bottled water and went out of her way to make sure we were still enjoying ourselves. We would highly recommend a stay here!
Cape Cod Serenity
My wife and I couldn't have been happier with our stay at the Hiawatha Cottage. From the moment we turned onto the road it was like someone threw a blanket of calm and beauty over us. The cottage is well appointed, super cozy, and Justina is very responsive to any needs you have. The views were better than expected. We enjoyed watching the oyster farmers each morning at low tide tend to their crops and our after breakfast walks from the cottage along the beach. The location couldn't have been better for access to all National Seashore attractions, checking out Provincetown and Chatham and enjoying some great food. It was a perfect jumping off point for all the nature we wanted to take in (bird watching, shelling, hiking, seal and whale spotting). We wanted to stay longer but are already looking forward to a future visit.
Lovely home, beautiful view, ideal in so many ways.
Thank you to Justina for her lovely cottage in Wellfleet. Every aspect of our stay was wonderful from the very first contact we had with Justina to the beautiful walks on the beach steps away from her cottage. All the amenities of her place were really high-quality, well-done, and tasteful. We'll be sure to return.
A very special place
We enjoyed another wonderful fall weekend at Indian Neck Beach. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. This charming cottage is a perfect place to get away from it all, so as to enjoy the bay side of the Cape. We look forward to our next stay!
We really enjoyed this cottage
My wife and I spent nearly a week in mid April here at the cottage and fell in love with it. This is a perfect time to go to the Cape if you are looking for the quiet side of Cape Cod. The cottage itself is very clean, comfortable and literally steps to the beach. Fantastic sunsets mixed with long walks on the beach. The CCRT is just miles away if you are a bike rider.
