This place is spectacular! Lots of room and immaculately clean!
We truly enjoyed staying there Labor Day weekend. It was a reasonable walk to the boat dock and the drive to the boat ramp was only about 10 minutes if that. Property was in decent shape especially considering all of the rain we had gotten from the hurricane. The grill was kind of small but worked efficiently. The deck is huge! The area the house is located is on a street with primarily Summer Rental or summer vacation type places some are not quite as nice as this house lol but still was a very nice trip. Kitchen had every utensil you could need. Television hat satellite and a DVD player which work great and they even had a dozen movies on hand that we could play. Overall it was a perfect weekend and we are so happy we went!
Absolutely perfect! The house was clean and everything we needed was available!
We plan on making this an annual trip! This was was perfect and everything was so clean and neat! We had a fabulous time!
comfy and quiet!
great place to take young ones; easy drive to mammoth cave area and kid friendly beach at barren lake 10 min drive max. golf and horseback riding at the park as well although mine are too young for that...maybe a few yrs down the road!
Great Long Weekend in Rural Kentucky
We very much enjoyed our long weekend at this property, exploring Mammoth Cave and the surrounding area. The house is immaculately kept and comfortable. Beds and couches are comfortable, and the kitchen is well-stocked for cooking meals. Some of the surrounding homes are not the nicest, though many others are very well kept. We would recommend this house to anyone looking for a comfortable rural escape while exploring Mammoth Cave.
Great house and owner just not LAKEFRONT!
Maya was absolutely wonderful! She handled all our questions in a timely manner and was very helpful!
The house is as cute as can be... very well maintained interior. Our only complaint about the interior... very small, hard beds! The exterior needed a little cleaning. The patio furniture needs cleaned or replaced. It's a great space but would suggest someone powerwash to rid the deck and patio of dead bugs, wasps, wood bees, spiders and their webs.
The grill worked well but was relatively small and needed cleaned, as well.
Our biggest disappointment was the view! According to the description on VRBO, it's a lake view property. There isn't a view of the lake nor could you even hear water. And, the boat dock isn't accessible from the house. It's a good 100 yards down the street, between 2 other houses and then a good walk down to the water.
Overall, the house is comfortable. We really wanted a LAKE place with a view. We missed being able to drink our coffee in the morning, on a deck, listening to and enjoying the lake views. However, we can't say enough about Maya and how cute and clean the place was overall!
Beautiful house with plenty of space
Liked the house and the location. Plenty of parking and great outdoor space. The house is really nice and clean and roomy. Only suggestion I could make would be to turn the poker room into another bedroom or maybe at least add a pull out couch for better sleeping arragements.
Be sure to check out Haebegger's Amish Market, as they have the best ice cream and pies around. There are loads of local antique stores, Bowling Green and Glasgow boast a thriving local arts scene, the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center has new shows all the time, and there is a Casino at the Downs in Franklin if you so desire. Mammoth Caves is about 40 minutes away, and Lost River Caves is located just south of Bowling Green. Cheney's Dairy farm is always a fun Family attraction. The annual Glasgow Highland Games is super close by at the Barren River State Park. The State Park is chock full of adventures too! They have horseback riding stables, golf, tennis, and a couple different playgrounds for the kids as well as the State Marina facilities and a full service restaurant with spectacular views of the lake! There is so much to do in the area, it's impossible to list!
