As the listing say's, yes it was a huge house. The place was not too clean when we showed up. The pool was trashed and slimy; but I guess it was too early in the season and the pool had not been opened up yet.
Owner was very accommodating and responsive.
The place could use some window blinds in the large room upstairs, as there is a spotlight across the yard that shines directly into that room.
Only 2 showers.
Nice pool with a good view overlooking the bay. When we arrived, we were greeted by fresh flowers. The movie room was awesome, we watched Home Alone like three times in there that weekend. The owner was available and attentive to all our needs and I can be fairly needy at times.
WE enjoyed our stay. House was comfortable with a southern charm. Pool is private and great fun for the kids. Owner was very nice and willing to accommodate us in any way he could. Minutes to casinos and beach.
I enjoyed every minute of the stay there! The size of the house and interior is impressive! It's also in a very private location, with beautiful view of the back bay of Biloxi. We loved the pool and the movie room. The kitchen is big and comfortable and the fridge was brand new. The floors were shiny, and overall the house was clean. I definitely recommend this house and will go back at the first availability. I would rate it 6 from 5 :)
We attempted to reach owner to obtain code to enter home for 24 hours prior to our arrival. Finally obtained code an hour before our arrival. LESS than satisfactory communication. Owner lives out of state but that's no excuse. Of course, had we known the house stands unlocked, we wouldn't have worried (sarcasm). The house is large and roomy - yes. However, it is in a peculiar state of dilapidation - our impression is that it is in the midst of a cheap renovation and owner is renting as a means of gathering funds. We arrived after dark to an unlocked front door - anyone could have been in this house! The front door could not be locked from the outside when we left for the day. Backyard gate broken. Thus had to climb over broken gate or low brick wall to lock the house from the rear door. A door to a bathroom vanity came off in our hands. No window coverings on windows in two bedrooms. The much acclaimed Home Theatre is at most only capable of showing DVD's (guest must supply - this is need to know information!). No instructions for anything. The one TV gets a handful of over-the-air programs - no cable/satellite. Upstairs en suite toilet runs in the night. Floors throughout do not feel clean. On a positive note - it was conveniently located. Everything we needed worked. As for the water front: The bayou was low, and the pool was green and dirty - but it was still cool weather when we stayed at the property. The outdoor furniture does not look safe, the property is overall run down looking. Four bedrooms - three blankets; no wash cloths AT ALL in bathrooms. Of the 3 bathrooms, only 2 had showers that could be entered safely - HUGE steps into the other two that could cause great harm to a senior citizen or a child. We have stayed at many VRBO or Homeaway properties over the years - this wouldn't be the very bottom we've come across but its darn close.
We had a family reunion and decided on renting a house instead of individual hotel rooms. not only did it save on costs but was able to spend more quality time together. The house had plenty of room for all of us. The entertainment room was a huge success for all the cousins to hang out. plenty of room in the yard to play some catch. all the rooms were comfortable. the overhead projector could be better if it was moved back a few feet. a grill and a kayak or two would of been the icing on the cake.
overall, we had great time and will definitely look to booking again for our next reunion. The owner was attentive and able to assist immediately with any of our issues.
