Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Ashley,

Thanks again for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful apartment in Paris. It is lovely--perfect, in fact-- and we had a most enjoyable stay.... although much too short. We hope to return and you will be the first person we contact when that happens.

With best wishes,

Tim OBrien

We had a fantastic time at Coq Heron!

  • 5 of 5

We booked Coq Heron for a one week stay in Paris with our 3 children at the beginning of July and were thrilled with our choice!

As previous reviews had suggested the location was fantastic and close to everything we needed while there. The apartment is well laid out with the two bedrooms at the back which is ideal for getting a quiet nights sleep. (Particularly when the Euro Cup was on!) The apartment was clean and well stocked and Ashley and Laurence were both a pleasure to deal with. We really enjoyed our stay and found it far more relaxing than staying in a hotel - we would definitely book again when we return to Paris!

Sunny, Chic, Fabulous and Magnifique!

  • 5 of 5

This was our sixth trip to Paris and our first one with our twins, so it definitely made more sense to stay in an apartment than a hotel. This apartment was even better than a hotel. The decor made me want to redo my entire house. It's inviting, calming, sophisticated, as well as homey. And you can't beat the location. A grocery store across the street, a patisserie around the corner. And the Louvre and the river within a few minutes' walk. It was a fantastically comfortable base from which to explore Paris. Laurence, the property's manager, was very accommodating and nice. She really made us feel welcome with fresh flowers and a bottle of wine waiting for us to enjoy. My only criticism is the lighting in the two bedrooms. There were essentially desk lamps on the end tables, which made it difficult to see the entire room at night. Brighter and softer lighting would really help. The only real big problem I had was that I didn't want to leave. Testimony found in the guest book assured me I was not the only one.

We hope to come back some day!!

Thanks for the apartment

  • 5 of 5

Just a short note to thank Ashley and Laurence for the stay we had at the apartment. It is truly gorgeous. The location can't be beat. The apartment so comfortable, I now think of it as my home in Paris. To Laurence, thank you for meeting us, explaining everything and sending us off at the end of our stay. You are truly a delight. And the last you Ashley for allowing us to stay in your truly amazing apartment. I hope to be back!

Perfect place to stay in Paris!

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely apartment, in a great location, with really nice bathrooms, a great kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms! Our family of 5 with 3 children stayed here and it was so much better than staying in a small hotel! I highly recommend this apartment and would stay here again!

Outstanding Accomodation and Location

  • 5 of 5

Property lives up to its billing. It's in a great location; appliances and fixtures are all high-end; very roomy and well laid-out.

We traveled with 2 children plus a friend (all adults) and found the flat to be spacious enough without walking over each other. The second bathroom is a virtual necessity when traveling with other people. Both bathrooms are large by European standards. The only critical comments I would make is the wooden floor in the master bedroom needs to be replaced as every step taken results in a loud creaking; the sofa bed used by our friend was somewhat uncomfortable. The flat was quite clean with plenty of bath linens (also high-end). The washer/dryer combo was used a lot, but a wash/dry cycle took over 4 hours. Not a big deal after the first try.

Per the location, it was virtually perfect. The metro at Les Halles or Louvre-Rivoli was less than a five-minute walk and we never had to change lines more than once. Every major attraction is within a 15-minute walk or metro ride. The Franprix grocery store is literally across the street and there are several bakeries close by that offer great baguettes and pastries. Many restaurants are also within a five-minute walk.

In sum, this flat is a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for.
