Wonderful apartment on the ground floor of XVI century palace. Frescoed, charming and fine details, was the home of Florentine notables, including Giovanni Caccini architect, Arthur Shopenauer and Prince of Constantinople Palaeologus. A piece of history in the heart of Florence.
Wonderful private garden with Frescoed lodge (Giardino Botanico di Matteo Caccini) in use to all residents of the palace.

Augusto Michelagnoli purchased this apartment in 1572
This well-located and unique property is well-worth a consideration for any traveler who is looking for something unique. Florence is a "walking city" and the location on Borgo Pinti is within a 15-20 minute walk to most places in the city. The property's physical features with the historical artwork are complemented by modern facilities. The "layout" of the property makes it definitely different from a normal hotel or apartment which adds to the charm of the property. Anyone interested in the property needs to realize that one of the "bedrooms" is a skillfully designed division of a larger room so if total privacy is a concern, that could be an issue. The property was very clean and well-maintained and I wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend it; one suggestion would be a list of local recommended restaurants, markets, etc., for those renters who don't enjoy "exploring" the neighborhood (or who are "directionally-challenged").
I recently spent a week in Florence visiting my daughter, and I couldn't have been more pleased with a choice of a place to stay during my
first visit to the city. On the one hand, it was a gorgeous sample of Florentine art and history. On the other hand, it was all you could ask
for, for comfort, efficiency, and location. The walk to the city center wasn't bad at all, and two favorite restaurants were just across our street.
I'd love to visit again, any time.
The property is exactly as described. In a fantastic location. Very safe area with so many places to eat nearby.
We were met by Lando upon arrival. He was very gracious and helpful .
The apartment was so central . You could walk to everywhere from this location, although we did rent bikes one day and it was well worth it.
There are many fabulous restaurants nearby and Agusto , very kindly , gave me some great recommendations for some traditional trattorias that were reasonably priced.
We definitely will come and stay again.
Thank you for a lovely stay
We loved staying in this 15th century apartment, with it's wonderful frescoed ceiling and beautifully furnished appointments. We came to Florence to see its remarkable art and creative history and we would not have had to leave our apartment. The Michelagnoli family were great to work with and made this little part of history feel like our comfortable, clean and beautiful home in Florence. Great location and loved our little street and garden. We will be back!
We stayed for a week in this apartment and it was a real pleasure. It is very well equipped and beautifully furnished. We had some trepidation because we had invited some friends to join us for a couple of days and the second bedroom is not wholly private as it is separated from the lounge by an extremely well made piece of furniture which did not go to ceiling height due to the magnificent painted ceiling in that room. However, this area could be closed off and the main bathroom was very close to the bedroom and could, therefore, be used by them as their own bathroom.
The main bedroom is very large, again with a fabulous frescoed ceiling, and has its own en-suite which, although small, is more than acceptable. The sleeping arrangements were unusual but did not spoil our enjoyment of the apartment and the owners have been very ingenious in maximising wardrobe space in both bedrooms without compromising the beauty of the ancient building.
There is a lovely dining room which we used for a couple of dinners and breakfast and the kitchen, although small has all you need. Plus there a well equipped separate utility room. We have been in holiday apartments that do not live up to the photos but I can safely say that this apartment looks as good in reality as it does in the pictures.
The owner was gracious, charming and helpful. One of our computer's developed a fault which blew all of the electrics in the apartment. The owner came and calmly helped us identify the problem and then took us to a computer shop for a replacement cable. He suggested a restaurant on the same street (Giostra) which proved to be a great choice.
The location of the apartment is fantastic. It's a 10 minute max walk to the Duomo, the Uffizzi, the Ponte Vecchia and Accademia. Absolutely no need for a car. Our friends parked theirs in a local garage and left it there for three days. We found some fabulous local restaurants; Gastone, the Fishing Lab, and a very authentic pizza restaurant, Pizzaiolo on via Macci.
It was a pleasure to live for a week in such an historic apartment it certainly enhanced our experience of Florence.
