We recently had a great stay at this rental. It is a beautiful home, nicely appointed and very well laid out. It is a 10 min walk to Beacon's beach or a 5-10min car ride to Moonlight beach (great for kids). Local restaurants and shopping are all close by foot or car. The owners were very responsive to our requests. The owners request that the AC not be used and while I suppose this is rarely needed due to the local coastal influence for those of us that like a cool home it may be something to consider. Overall a nice rental for the price and location.
Spent one week here in mid June and found this home to be just as described. Never met the owner, Todd, but spoke with him a few times and found him to be always immediately reachable and very friendly and considerate. Enjoyed evenings on the back deck with doors open to family members inside.
No bugs, no humidity. Walked to the beach (just long enough for a little exercise) to watch the surfers each day. Nice clean property. Yes would give thumbs up to friends or family.

We stayed at the Leucadia house for three nights while taking the family (son/wife/ 2 grandsons and son/girlfriend) to Legoland. The house was very comfortable and provided an excellent base for our forays to Legoland. The house was clean and well appointed. There were a couple of minor mainetnance issues which we communicated directly to the owner. But these issues were well within expectations.
The term "beach vacation home" is a bit of a misnomer. It is about .5 miles downhill to the bluff above the beach (at foot of Leucadia Ave). From there a path wends its way down the cliff to the beach. So it's not convenient for a family to walk to the beach with all of their gear. But it is an easy drive to many fine beaches in the area.
If we were to vacation in this area again, we would defintely (strongly) consider using this property.
We enjoyed the open floor plan, fenced-in yard, and beautifully appointed designer details. We appreciated the fact that each bedroom has its own bathroom – and that the kitchen is large and centrally located. The location is quiet as well as super-convenient – close to the beach and close to the freeway.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The home exactly as shown--very clean, modern and stylish. Todd was very helpful and even stopped by the house to answer a question for me when we first arrived. We loved the outdoor spaces as well as the inside of the house. My kids found it fun to be so close to the beach and we took advantage of beach walks and Slurpie runs. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to be close to the beach while enjoying all that San Diego has to offer.
We loved this meticulously presented and beautifully decorated house for our family get together over Xmas. The main house has three spacious bedrooms all with their own lovely bathrooms. Large living, dining and kitchen. Great outdoor entertaining area , outdoor seating, large bbq and car access.
There is a separate cottage with bedroom and bathroom so would suit large family or 2 or 3 couples sharing.
10m walk to beach, cafes, winery and restaurants.
We travelled from Australia for this family get together and the hosts were so friendly and helpful with any information we needed. The house was all decorated for Xmas when we arrived knowing we were celebrating Xmas there.
We would highly recommend this house and hope we can come back sometime
This quiet Leucadia home is west of the I-5 with easy access to the 101 and the Encinitas train station. Its central location allows for a short walk to restaurants, cafes, spas and world class beaches (Beacon's) for swimming, surfing, stand up paddle and strolling. The area is an outdoor mecca for hiking, road and mountain biking. Lots of parks and attractions for kids including LegoLand - just 7 miles away.
