* Phillip's Paradise I unit 2019 (#86742) and Phillips Paradise II unit 2020(#40445) are one bedroom, second floor units side by side and can be rented together or separate. The balcony can be opened if one should rent both units.
* Enjoy morning coffee, beautiful sunsets and views of the Destin Harbor from our expanded covered balcony.
*Phillips Paradise II unit 2020(40445) is a fully furnished, 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit with queen bed and queen sofa bed that sleeps 4. The guest bedroom has TV/VCR/DVD player. Stereo and CD player combo is located in the living room.
* Beachside covered pavilion with restrooms and a bit more than a snack bar. Enjoy a Rick’s Burger or Grouper Sandwich or cold drink from Rick’s Sandtrap.
* Enjoy Fine Dining from Louisiana Lagniappe, an onsite restaurant
Washer and dryers are at the end of the building on the first level.
At Sandpiper Resort, you can enjoy sunning or swimming on 1,100 ft of sugar white beach with chair/umbrella rentals available, volleyball, restrooms and a covered food pavilion. You may drive to the beachside parking lot or take a 7 minute walk to the beach.

Sandpiper is not a highrise. Sandpiper offers 1,100 feet of gulf frontange, Gulf side parking lot, beach pavillion with GREAT FOOD, tennis, 5 pools, jacuzzis, shuffle board, boating, fishing, duck feeding(for the grand children). Our unit offers a large covered deck looking down the Destin Harbor. Come, stay and enjoy!!
I was a bit leary of renting a unit with carpet in the bathroom, but the carpet was really pretty clean. Not at all dirty as described by someone else in these reviews, and the bathtub is huge. Yes, it's a bit outdated, and the TV's are small, but seriously, you are by the beach. Get out and enjoy it. This unit is also right by one of the pools. This pool did not have a hot tub, that was a little disappointing. But the pool was heated, so night swims were a treat. We never did find the hot tubs. There were plenty of towels and the kitchen was stocked with a lot of cooking utensils. The washer/dryer is in the bedroom closet. Kinda weird, but I was grateful to have one in the unit. The manager was great to work with. Very nice person. This unit must be sound proof. Our neighbors had a 2 yr old and we never heard him. This area was really pretty quiet. We felt very secure at Sandpiper Cove. Security made it's presence known at all times. It's also a great location for many things. Harbor Village was just up the road, Destin Commons was close by. Plenty of places to eat close by. The only bad part was having to drive everywhere. We are park & walk people. I gave it 3 stars because it is average. But there's nothing wrong with being average. It was clean,in a convenient location, had a nice view of Thurs night fireworks. I did enjoy sitting on the covered balcony in the morning and I thought the bed was really comfy. You can walk to the beach. We found a short cut between buildings by a bridge over the canal. Chairs are available at the beach for a fee.
We really enjoyed our stay...The apartment was very clean. Loved the harbor view from the deck. There are plenty of supplies in the kitchen, and we had everything we needed. The manager was always accessible...she's really great. The bed was comfortable, the sleeper sofa...not so much...but I guess that's expected. Lots of stores nearby. It was nice having a gated parking lot to the beach...we had a lovely time!
My family and I have stayed in this condo twice and are very happy with it. The furniture and beds are comfortable and the unit is very clean. The listing photos are very accurate in the units appearance. The balcany overlooks the harbor and the view is absolutely beautiful! We like to sit on the balcany and watch the boats going in and out. My aunt went with us this summer and she stayed in the adjoining unit. We were able to go back and forth between the units, as the balcanys can be easily connected by opening a gate that separates the units. There is a swimming pool that is right around the corner, which is very nice. The owner was very helpful in answering our questions and was very friendly. We were actually able to meet her in person during our stay this summer. Something new that we did this year was take the water taxi down the harbor to "Harbor Walk". The taxi picked us up at the Louisiana Lagniappe restaurant, which is located within the Sandpiper Cove complex, and was able to drop us off and pick us back up wherever we wanted along the harbor. The boat ride was awesome and it was very inexpensive. I was able to get some great pictures of the destin bridge at sunset. I would definitely recommend this unit to my family and friends. It is a very nice place to stay and the owner is very friendly and helpful. We will certainly be going back again.
We absolutely LOVE staying at Phillips Paradise II. We have stayed at Sandpiper Cove for the past 6 years, and we have stayed at Phillips Paradise II the past 4. It is extremely cozy and well-maintained. The unit is ALWAYS extremely clean, the owner is EXTREMELY accessible, and the condo is just what we look for in a vacation rental. The view from of the harbor is so relaxing. The owners are constantly updating and adding new amenities. The shower has great pressure, they've added a washer/dryer, and the kitchen has anything you need. I'm not sure why someone complained about the bathroom flooring; it's always clean and plenty of towels and bathmats are provided. (Plus, you're on vacation at the beach; why are you spending so much time in the bathroom? Go to the beach!) We plan on staying here again next year, and if we had more time and money, we would go in the spring and/or fall. The condo is a great value. Your family, or just a couple, would have a great time here. My husband and I absolutely love it. All throughout the year we comment to each other, "Man, I wish we were at the condo." We talk like it's ours! You won't be disappointed! Ignore that negative review. Stay with Phillips Paradise II.
We stayed at this condo last year and fell in love with it's privacy, convenience and cleanliness. We again vacationed in Destin a few weeks ago and booked this same condo. We were met by the lovely owners who went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We would not hesitate and look forward to booking this same unit next year.
We had such high hopes for this unit since we were unable to secure our usual vacation spot this year in Destin. Unfortunately our hopes were unfulfilled. We did read the previous review and did not heed their warning.
The unit was out-of-date--small TVs in the living room and bedroom, and the living room furniture was uncomfortable to sit on and even more so to sleep on (the couch is a pull out bed).
We felt that there should have been more pictures on the site and more updated pictures of the ones they did have up. There were none of the bathroom or the kitchen. A picture of the bathroom would have shown that the carpet in there is dirty from having people step directly out of the tub/shower onto the carpet. The living room furniture was not in the same spot as shown on the site; the angle of the bedroom picture does not show that the bed is held up with a 2 by 4 under the headboard. We could have made a more informed decision with more/better pictures.
We assumed that a cleaning crew would be there after the previous renters had left but when we arrived the carpet in the living room was dirty and since we were unable to identify one stain, we had to clean it ourselves before we could let our kids walk around barefoot.
Since the no smoking sign was only inside the unit, we thought my husband would be able to smoke on the balcony. We are now being told that there is no smoking anywhere on the premises so we are unable to get our deposit back since their parents live next door and are asthmatic. We did Fabreze the unit before we left but they said that we left it inhabitable with the level of smoke that had permeated the unit.
We feel that they would say anything to keep the deposit (see other review-they did that to them too) and will never return to this unit or any others managed by these people.
