“We loved Frank's place, the location and rustic Westcoast feel of the house were perfect. The little cove and dock was perfect for paddling, and floating, which we did a lot of. Huge front and back yards were awesome for the kids to run around in, and the house is a short walk to the General store and Cafe, where we got coffees in the morning, and ice cream for the kids in the evenings. Lots of sun on the decks, and the living room window looks over Halfmoon Bay and Thormanby Island, all the way across the Georgia Straight to the lights of Nanaimo/Lantzville in the evening. What a view :)”
We had a wonderful stay at Frank's Place at Halfmoon Bay Paradise! It was a great retro home with plenty of space for our party of eight! It was clean, well taken care of and perfect for our night's stay. The communications with Frank was easy and he replied quickly to each question we had. My family and I will continue to use Halfmoon Bay Paradise each time we come to the Sunshine Coast. And, we'll be sure to recommend to our friends.
We came from Alberta to experience a week on the ocean at the beautiful Sunshine Coast. There were only 4 of us (2 couples) so we had plenty of room and our 9 year old Lab was quite content to roam the property freely. We enjoyed ourselves even with the weather being a little uncooperative as there is plenty to explore in the area by vehicle. Good friends, good times. Frank is a great host; we were welcomed with a tour and freshly caught prawns in the freezer. We knew it was retro going in, with awesome views and all the amenities we needed were either there or close by. New, clean appliances in the kitchen were a bonus but be prepared to wash dishes as there is no dishwasher and the previous guests may not have been as diligent as expected. Since this is used as a short term rental, regular maintenance and upkeep to remove or repair obvious issues should be done for guest’s comfort. If you have allergies to mildew and or dust, you may have a difficult time staying here. Although the house was tidy, a deep and thorough overhaul by a professional cleaning/restoration outfit would be a health benefit. However, Frank was very accommodating and quick to respond to any concerns we had. Thank you.
Relaxing, peaceful get-a-way. I will definitely be returning to this home. I enjoyed the views from the dock and the panoramic view from the living room is mesmerizing. I could live here! The nearby golf course was a treat as were the walking trails. The general store carries everything you might have forgotten - inlcuding liquor & wine!
