The pics on the site look great but there is nothing appealing about this place. Shabby bedding, bathrooms smelling of septic, kitchen minimally stocked, dust bunnies through out the house and no WiFi or cable. The contact person "Don" MIA!
I have used home away and vrbo many times and always pleased. This particular property underperforms and is overpriced.
Honestly, I have travelled around the world and stayed in so many rentals, hotels, accommodations - but this was by far the worst experience. I do not recommend. He even said he would delete any bad reviews! Ha!!
The place looks nice sure and it is. But the place gets so hot. I asked about this initially and was told not to worry about it, that there were fans and it wasn't a problem. When we were there it was so incredibly hot we were sweating just sitting still. Perhaps this was an anomaly - but frustrating none the less when you spend so much money and expect to be comfortable.
I was assured that the kitchen was well stocked with utensils - it was if you like to cook college style. Warped pans, no large knives, etc.
The water is disgusting - a terrible smell, we had to keep showers to a bare minimum. It wasn't until I was asked that I was told it was advisable to use bottled for cooking - Thanks!
The gentleman Don who was the point of contact was impossible to get ahold of on the day of arrival and we had to wait 24 hrs. to get a key to the place.
The last straw was finding out that the washing machine left rust stains on our clothes. I promptly let James (the owner know) and he eventually offered reimbursement, but then went MIA, then was incredibly rude, arrogant and childish is trying to get reimbursed for the items. I really feel he was hoping I would back down. In the end I did get it, but it left the most sour taste in my mouth. A disappointing end to a disappointing stay.
