Great little condo, perfect for us

Small & simple & perfect for a family of 4. Great access to Northstar. The only thing missing is a spatula, otherwise great stay.

Great Place, literally steps to Northstar, but BEWARE of fees!

  • 3 of 5

This place is cute and comfy, perfect for a small family. Worked well for us (2 adults and a golden retriever). We really enjoyed the quick walk up to Northstar (and you're also on their shuttle route). The rental agency - Natural Retreats - were very nice and welcoming.

My only issue is with all of the fees associated with this rental. Cleaning fees are normal, but a second significant fee for a pet cleaning was almost as high, in addition to a Damage Waiver Fee, and an equivalent Booking Fee. I've never paid a booking fee on VRBO in my life, which I find quite ridiculous. The owner should cover that, not the renter. I've also never paid a Damage Waiver Fee. I'm not a college student on Spring Break. All told, the aggregate of fees tacked on an almost an additional twenty five percent. We could have easily said we didn't have a pet, but we're honest had believe in integrity. There's no mention of the fees until you actually pay. We could have backed out, but it was a last minute booking.

Again, cute condo, the staff at Natural Retreats were really quite helpful, just be prepared to tack on a hefty amount of fees.

Nice Tahoe cabin for a family + dog

  • 3 of 5

The location can't be beat, the Northstar shuttle picks up out front, and it's an easy 10-min. walk (in winter) into the village or to the rec center. It was fun to have the dog along. The kitchen and living area is upstairs (stairs might prove steep for very little ones) with a nice high ceiling that makes it feel more spacious. Very comfortable for a family of four. You can sled right outside the front door into a field. Paths were shoveled and well maintained. There are some things I wish we knew coming in... There are two bathrooms - one with a full bath, one is a toilet and sink behind closet-like doors. Both had plumbing issues while we were staying as did the washing machine, but sounded like there was an overall problem with pipes. Property management came out the next day to fix it - quick word about property management at Natural Retreats, they were wonderful and responsive. A few more tips for families: there are games in the unit, washer/dryer, a DVD player, coffee maker, sleds, a fireplace and plenty of wood. The bunk beds are both double beds but there is NO trundle. The master is a queen bed. Overall this is a great Northstar location and condo for families.
