From the moment you arrive you will know that you have chosen the perfect house for your Sarasota vacation. Located in the centrally located south-gate area you will be only minutes from the beach as well as all of the cultural, entertainment and dining opportunities downtown. Mineola Drive is an extremely quite street with no thru-traffic on an island within the Phillippi creek. Towering live oaks and lush tropical plantings line the curved walk up to the front door and upon entering you will immediately be impressed with the roomy open-concept floor plan. Comfort and quality are key in this beautifully furnished mid-century modern Florida ranch. Large sliding glass doors along the living room and dining room walls open to a beautiful crystal clear swimming pool and a large grassy lawn that slopes down to the dock on the Phillippi creek. The Master bedroom with its tranquil colors and extremely comfortable bed boasts a fully tile bathroom en-suite with large walk-in shower. The second bedroom is bright, airy and Scandinavian in feel with its two comfortable new twin-size beds. It sits next to a second bathroom with tub. The den/third bedroom can be closed off with its french doors and has a brand new leather sofa bed where you can curl up to watch your favorite film or one of the scores of high-definition channels offered. The dining room has seating for eight around the glass and rattan table. In the living room a comfortable and cushy sofa along with several chairs surround a sea-grass area rug over original high-polished terrazzo floors. A stone fireplace adds to the ambiance. Chefs will appreciate the quality cookware, Cuisinart food processor and Kitchen-Aid mixer while preparing a delicious meal. Dine inside or out on the patio beneath the trees while the Florida sun sets to the west. A new deluxe gas grill and a cozy fire-pit are perfect for outdoor cooking and entertaining. Enjoy cocktails or a cup of coffee under the lanai while Snowy Egrets and Herons flock along the creek and wait for the resident bald eagle and great horned owl that frequent the area. On the far side of the pool area the four hole putting green is the perfect diversion for children and a great practice area for avid golfers. Of course there's a supply of clubs and balls. The laundry room with clothes-folding area houses a tiled shower lav. and sink for quick washes after an afternoon at the beach or after a kayak adventure through the mangrove trees along the creek.
Cool and serene, tasteful and tranquil, you will never forget your stay.

We are former sailors working in the charter yacht world. Now we raise natural products on our Catskill Mountain farm and vacation in beautiful sarasota.
jenny liddle purchased this house in 2011
Sarasota was the obvious location for us because of its spectacular beaches, natural environment, cultural richness, wonderful people and laid-back lifestyle.
We enjoy all of the cultural opportunities the area has to offer. Our house is just minutes from everything yet is private and tranquil.
This house is very comfortable. Pool is good size and outdoor seating if perfect. Kitchen is stocked well with needed tools. Street is quiet and good security. Would go back again.
I took my daughter, SIL, 3 grandkids plus pet for a week in Sarasota. This house was very comfortable and clean; perfect for us. The pool was very clean and loved sitting outside, enjoyed the breeze off of the canal. Kitchen appliances were very nice; perfect for preparing breakfast and lunches. Loved the laundry room/bathroom/changing area just off the pool. Visited several beaches in the area. Two beach chairs & one umbrella can in handy. Glad we brought our own beach and bath towels since there were 6 of us.
This was the first time I've rented a home instead of a condo; definitely the way to go from now on.
This home was perfect for our week-long family stay in Sarasota. It is stylish, well-maintained, clean and comfortable. The no-outlet street in an established neighborhood was very quiet. Lovely pool and lanai area, very nice kitchen and living areas, comfortable beds, plus sleeping accommodation was added by the owner for our baby granddaughter. We visited two of the many beaches - recommend Coquina over Siesta Key, though the latter is rated highly, we found it too crowded and the walk from parking lot to the beach with small children and equipment in tow was too far. We also made trips to the Tampa Aquarium (about 50 minutes) and to St. Petersburg to visit the state's largest bookstore, Haslam's, and eat at Bodega on Central Ave. - awesome Cuban sandwiches and smoothies. We would definitely stay at this house again.
This was our 2nd time to stay at our Home Away from Home on Mineola. The house is lovely, quaint, and just minutes from Siesta Key, beautiful downtown Sarasota, and Lido Beach. The pool was nice for the children and the outside bathroom comes in handy. There are plenty of towels, pots, pans, etc. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. I hope we have the chance to stay again next summer.
We enjoyed our stay at this home and everything you need is withing a couple miles. The house was great and the pool was very enjoyable. Everything worked as it should and we even had a owl calling to us every night at dusk. We booked again next year.
My husband, son and I had a great holiday kayaking and seeing Manatee, and Alligators further down the creek.
The house is very clean and well equipped. The pool is a godsend after the humidity of the day. Location is ideally situated for everything. O'Leary's bar by the sea, Marina Jacks piano bar, C.F Chang's restaurant, and The Cheesecake Factory in UTI. all highly recommended. We managed to have a sunset cruise via Stickney Point boat hire. Great sunset too. Wildlife amazing. Try Myakka State Park. If you can do the long drive 2hrs. Go to N.A.S.A Just out of this world, literally. So much to do, and so little time....
minutes to the world's #1 rated beach on Siesta Key, Selby Gardens, The Ringling Museum, St. Armands, Jungle Gardens, Asollo Theater Company, The Van Wezel Performing Arts Center, Mote Aquarium, Farmer's Markets, Art Galleries, Historic Spanish Point, Myaka State Park, Jungle Gardens and much more.
