Property: 80 Acres, creek frontage (3/4 mile), secluded, great views

The Homestead is located in the area known as Marshall's Creek, roughly 10 minutes from the Delaware Water Gap. It boats 80 acres to explore, with 3/4 miles of Marshalls Creek frontage. Additionally, it is centrally located close to many outdoor activities, including skiing, hiking, fishing, rafting/canoeing (on Delaware), and golf. It's also a short drive away from beautiful and historic downtown Stroudsburg, and only another couple miles to great shopping at The Crossings.

The home is a 3br/2ba Chalet which we purchased in 2013, and have renovated extensively to bring up to date. We have made a number of recent additions (beds, couches, tables, chairs, wi-fi, ping pong table, dart board) in order to make one's stay more comfortable. There is a wrap around deck in front with great views, as well as a screened-in porch for relaxing.

I think the rental is perfect for couples and families looking to relax and enjoy everything that the Poconos has to offer. It sleeps 6 in the bedrooms (all new queen mattresses) and has an additional single daybed on the ground floor. For larger parties, there is amble room on couches and to put down air-mattresses.

The property itself encompasses 80 acres, and is open to explore. The topography is hilly, lending itself to some fun climbing, as well as spectacular views of the valley from the higher elevations (as seen in photos). Marshall's Creek meanders along one side of the property, and is great in the summer to take a dip. The waterfall is a beautiful place to sit and relax in the spring/early summer when the creek flow is strongest. If you enjoy nature, you'll enjoy getting lost on the property.

The Homestead is close enough to NYC (1 hr drive) for a weekend getaway, and offers enough activities to easily fill a week or two. We look for renters that will enjoy and respect the home, property, and area as much as we do.

Why Owen (Poc) chose Pennsylvania

We wanted a weekend/vacation escape. We decided to buy in the Poconos because we wanted to be able to really get away, while still being close to our primary residence in NJ. We settled on this property because we thought it offered a little of everything (secluded but not too in the middle of nowhere, relatively close (75min from NYC), expansive, has the creek for swimming and fishing in warmer months, and the views (both from the house and from the higher vistas in the property).

What makes this chalet unique

Our favorite things about the property are :

View from the living room and deck.

Sitting on fenced in porch during spring, summer, and fall.

Sitting on the couch in winter with the fireplace roaring.

Walking around and getting lost on the property.

Going down to Marshall's Creek and swimming or fishing.

Climbing to the top of the property and taking in the view (which goes all the way to the DWG).

Amazing property with great amenities! Family friendly!

We can't thank Owen enough for our stay at this very cute property. We are a large family and had plenty of room to spread out. There were lots of fun things to do at the property and around the area. We hope to be back many more times to this very wonderful place! Owen was very accomodating and responded to all my emails and gave lots of detail prior to our trip. Access to the house is very easy and the views are gorgeous! We HIGHLY recommend this property to others!

Very nice property

We had a great time here! It was just what we needed to was spacious and we never felt cramped. Very close to camelback to snow tube/ski with family.

Great house, property and location

We really enjoyed our stay from 9/30 to 10/2. Owen was quick to respond to all my questions and made the logistics very easy. We were a group of 5 adults and the house easily accommodated us between the 3 bedrooms, day bed and couch. Unfortunately we had rain both evenings and couldn't use the outdoor fire pit, but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless staying indoors taking advantage of the dart board and ping pong table. The kitchen is well equipped and we had everything we needed to make our meals and used the grill out on the deck. The house itself is very nice and the view is beautiful in the morning from the living room, deck or screened in room. Lots of deer and birds in the morning make for pleasant morning coffee entertainment. The property is large and has a path that leads off below the fire pit through the woods. We enjoyed a nice walk through the woods. The property is close to trails in the Delaware Water Gap, which we enjoyed exploring. We loved our stay and highly recommend it and will definitely consider staying here if we come back to the area.

It was a beautiful mountain setting. We really enjoyed the seclusion.

The property was great! Plenty of room for our grandchildren to really enjoy themselves. They especially liked roasting marshmellows over the firepit and making S'mores. Absolute beautiful setting. Would reserve again.

Where do you live?

Nice property, needs just a couple upgrades

This is a nice house in a secluded location. The top floor where the living room and bedrooms are is nicely furnished and is lovely with the windows. There was nice bedding and towels were supplied, as well as kitchen utensils.

There is no cable, you have to use Netflix and the like. There is a large TV that is placed well in the living room.

There are some things that are missing in the house that could turn the house into a five star house rather than four. The pots and pans are not sufficient, they stick and are not a good quality. The appliances in the kitchen are very old although they function. The living room gets very warm in the afternoon because there is no screen or shading of the upper windows. It takes the air conditioner in the one bedroom on at the same time as the central air to try and keep the temperature down. Some custom blinds could really make a difference there.

The downstairs is very rustic with a wood stove and a daybed, although there is no TV down there. We could've used soap for the shower and some wash cloths. It is hard to know what is there or not there, when people say they have towels you figure they have all the rest of it. It wouldn't take much to bring this up to speed.

The owner Owen is very nice to deal with and does respond promptly.

Amazing property and a perfect location for a weekend getaway!

This property was perfect for my friends and me! We had such an amazing time. We loved the location of the house and how much we were able to do around it. There was more than enough parking for us and the house was beautiful on the inside. The property is also 5 minutes from a grocery store which is very convenient. With the amount of room the property has we were able to play games and such right outside the house and also use the ping pong table on the ground floor. With the great location of the property, we were also able to take a 15 minute drive to Mt. Tammany for a 3 mile hike and an amazing view of the surrounding area. At night, we were able to sit outside on the screened in porch and avoid being bombarded with bugs. The kitchen has pretty much everything you would need for a weekend and everything was fully stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, etc. Overall, this property was everything that my friends and I needed for an amazing weekend together. We are already talking about hopefully being able to rent again next summer or even in the upcoming winter months. My friends and I highly recommend this house for any group of people!
