About Anne Koebley

I vacationed as a child on the Outer Banks, and also as a young married wife of a dental student. Ocracoke still has the old feel of what going to the beach is all about, being with family, soaking in the sun, making sand castles and just enjoying life in the moment.

Anne Koebley purchased this cottage in 1999

Why Anne Koebley chose Outer Banks

My husband and I fell in love with the relaxed village community that exist on Ocracoke and our wonderful house that brings a feeling of closeness to us when we are there.

What makes this cottage unique

Enjoy your morning coffee on the screened in porch as you experience the closeness of life on a canal. The water is right there to see birds and hear the sounds of the water and fisherman pass in there boats. Mallard families explore the waters as well.

Children young and old love to fish or catch crabs in the canal

Perfect Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family of four had a wonderful week staying in this beautifully maintained cottage! The cottage itself is lovingly decorated with antiques that brought back wonderful memories from my childhood, and I immediately felt comfortable there. In addition, the screened-in outdoor deck was perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening or reading and catching a quick nap in the afternoon. My family made many wonderful memories here and I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone! The owner, Anne, was a pleasure to work with as well! One of our best best vacations yet!

Horatio's Too is Terrific

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying in this charming and comfortable cottage.

Communicating with the owners was easy and they were very quick to reply. Honestly, this cottage has so much character and personality that it added to our overall experience of the island. It is well appointed and actually quite spacious. All in all, we had a first class experience at Horatio's Too and will be back soon! 5 stars all the way!

A picture perfect trip for MOM AND DAUGHTER

  • 5 of 5

My mother and I spent 2 weeks and 2 days at Horatio's Too and still found it oh so hard to leave!! Upon our arrival we found everything to be as pictured and more. The kitchen had absolutely everything possibly needed and could serve at least 6+ people! I can even say washing dishes by hand was a soothing time after dinner for me to reflect over my day! Horatio's Too is an extremely warm, cozy, quaint and inviting retreat. It was helpful that the stairs were very limited in # in comparison to other places for my mom. This cottage provided everything we could've asked for and more!! It felt like home and my mom and I loved the antiques and "knick knacks" and we enjoyed the Koebley's family pictures throughout the cottage! The porch was great and lots of time was spent there. My son is a Marine and came in to spend Mother's Day weekend with us since it was close to base which made our trip even more perfect!! Anne was very helpful and efficient throughout the entire process of quoting, booking, answering questions and accommodating our every need and concern!! She was a total pleasure to rent from!! The sunrise out the front kitchen windows is a must (just follow out the front door) and I took some of the best pictures ever!! It was breath taking! We do recycle but we did learn the hard way that Ocracoke does require all recycling to be separated (cans, glass, cardboard etc). I will mention that the bathroom in the hallway is very small but it does help if more people are together. We did enjoy the shopping in the village and of course found some things we just had to have. The beaches were incredible and we hardly had to share them with others!! It's amazing to see these beaches without any type of development and we hope/pray they will always remain this way!! It is a TRUE TREASURE to have them this way. I went out with the Austins to shell at Portsmouth 6 times!!!! Need I say more? I found great shells on each of my trips to add to my collection. The Austin brothers have a deep love and passion for Ocracoke and it's easy to see!! They are a wealth of knowledge, fun and more than reasonable for a 4+ hr trip!! The pace of Ocracoke simply takes you back to a better time where people stop to say hi/wave and aren't in a hurry and truly take the time to enjoy life! We would most definitely love coming back to not only Ocracoke but to Horatio's Too!!! This was our first time to the Outer Banks but definitely not our last! We couldn't have found a better place!

The perfect place for our family to relax!

  • 5 of 5

Horatio's Too is even more charming and comfortable in person than in the pictures provided. We have rented many places off vrbo over the years and can honestly say this one is our favorite. The house is well-stocked, beautifully decorated, and in the perfect location. Our young sons (6 & 8) loved crabbing in the canal and paddling around in the provided canoe. They told us this was the best vacation of their lives. If you're looking for a relaxing and beautiful place to vacation, Ocracoke is it! The property owner was helpful and easy to work with. We are already planning our return trip for next summer and can't say enough good things about this house.

Spring break

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Horatio too! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the screened in porch, watched a couple sunsets from the canal in the canoe provided with the house, and loved the outdoor shower after two sunny days at the natural and vast beach! The cottage was clean and had everything we needed!
