Very nice and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

The location was great for touring western Ireland. Uma was great, lots of good ideas on what to do and where to find them. The town was small and very easy to get around. Great pubs and resturants.

Convenient but busy

  • 3 of 5

First- the positives: this place is super convenient to everything in Kinvara. Literally 1 minute walk to several good restaurants, pubs, and the grocery store. Less than 10 minute walk to Dunguaire castle. The apartment is well appointed with a small kitchen with two burner stovetop and sink. No oven or dishwasher. The negatives: this place is right on the main road through town and there is a good bit of traffic noise at all hours of the day and night. There is also a store under the apartment and there is some noise from the store when it is open. There are no laundry facilities at the apartment, there is a laundromat at a gas station about 1 km away.

Owner's Response: I am so sorry about the noisy village . I have no control over that. There is a washing machine . You only had to ask Uma. Sorry that there is only a kitchenette instead of a full size kitchen. I hope you enjoyed your holiday despite all of these shortcomings.

Characterful property perfectly situated

  • 5 of 5

We were so impressed with kinvara- one of the loveliest villages that we encountered on the wild Atlantic way. The apartment was clean, bright and cheerful. It was hard to leave. It has good nearby parking, a small area of outside space and was so well situated within the village so we could walk to everything we needed at the end of each day. Wonderful choice of pubs with great live music.

Cute Unit but a Couple of Surprises

  • 3 of 5

The unit was really cute with a great location in the center of town but I am only giving it 3 stars because of the construction going on next door which nullified the use of the advertised deck (we were really looking forward to sitting out there with a bottle, or two or..., of wine) and also resulted in the only window in the bedroom/loft needing to stay closed and the window shade down to prevent the construction workers from starring straight in. I understand the owner can’t control the construction that had been going on for a while, but if we had known about it before our arrival that would have allowed us the opportunity to seek alternative accommodation and cancel the booking. The listing indicates the unit has a washing machine which is does not (really needed one) and the listing indicates “oven” which to me is not a toaster oven. The unit was not expensive so wasn’t expecting the Marriott, but furnishings are showing signs of wear, so needs updating.

It should be noted, the owner is very responsive to requests and questions. I’m sure once the construction is completed and a few tweaks to the furniture the unit will really be a great place to stay.

Owner's Response: I am sorry that you had a miserable time. I believe the work ended within an hour. It was in the morning. Yes they should have given warning. I have no control over the village noises . I am upset that you chose to re complain in public after I have apologized and my good friend Mike gave you some nice coffee . There is a washing machine. You only had to ask Uma. The kitchen is too small for a normal oven. It is described as a kitchenette . Like a breakfast kitchen . Can you please tell me what is threadbare so I can replace it immediately?
