Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

This was a great apartment to spend three nights in to explore the area. The village of Kinvara is charming and gave us easy proximity to the burren, Aran Islands, Galway and the Conemarra. The apartment was extremely spacious, clean and comfortable. Our first day was warm and the terrace was nice to sit out on. Sayre responded very quickly to enquiries. Uma was readily available to meet us with keys to apartment. Highly recommended to other travellers.

Cute Unit but a Couple of Surprises

  • 3 of 5

The unit was really cute with a great location in the center of town but I am only giving it 3 stars because of the construction going on next door which nullified the use of the advertised deck (we were really looking forward to sitting out there with a bottle, or two or..., of wine) and also resulted in the only window in the bedroom/loft needing to stay closed and the window shade down to prevent the construction workers from starring straight in. I understand the owner can’t control the construction that had been going on for a while, but if we had known about it before our arrival that would have allowed us the opportunity to seek alternative accommodation and cancel the booking. The listing indicates the unit has a washing machine which is does not (really needed one) and the listing indicates “oven” which to me is not a toaster oven. The unit was not expensive so wasn’t expecting the Marriott, but furnishings are showing signs of wear, so needs updating.

It should be noted, the owner is very responsive to requests and questions. I’m sure once the construction is completed and a few tweaks to the furniture the unit will really be a great place to stay.

Great trip!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was great with some very interesting history! The only thing I would like to recommend is that you should probably have your own car. We knew it was outside of the city of Galway, but didn't realize how tricky it would be to get transportation back and forth. Cab ride was $50 due to traffic coming back after a bus tour we had from Galway. The bus from town is easy but they don't travel back to Kinvara after 6:00 pm and our tour didn't end until 6:00.

Some excellent restaurants around and the grocery just up the street was very convenient. Uma was great to help us get settled and give us the local information.

Shallow Heights is a very comfortable apartment

  • 5 of 5

Shallow Heights is a very clean, comfortable and unique apartment in a great location. I love the kitchen.

There were sunny breaks during my stay and I sat outside on the patio overlooking the main street of Kinvara.

Uma was very nice and got me settled in to the apartment and Kinvara Village.

If you're traveling by Eireann Bus, the stop is right down the street from the apartment.

Conolly's Pub a few doors down has traditional music sessions and friendly atmosphere.

Make sure you stop at the Kinvara Art Gallery for a Latte and chat with Michael.

The self guided tour at Dunguaire Castle is very nice and the green area at the Quay is a relaxing spot to sit and take in Galway Bay.

If you are interested in the local flora, stop at The Burren Nature Sanctuary for a walk through this interesting landscape.

There are many restaurants and pubs to choose from and a grocery store down the street.

I had a delicious dinner of Bacon with Mash & Cabbage at The Thatch.

Nice people there too.
