Our neighbors value the peaceful harmonious living that is synonymous with being in Japan. Please keep the noise level down near and in the apartment, especially at night.
Japan is a very clean country. To experience life as a real Japanese, please participate in the separating of trash and help keep Japan clean and beautiful. =)
Please separate your trash into the following 4 categories (put into separate plastic bags):
1. General/Combustible Garbage
2. Plastic Bottles
3. Glass Bottles

Located in Shimo-kitazawa, this apartment was about a 5-10 minute walk from the station. It's a VERY quiet neighborhood so it was a nice change of pace to return to from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Tokyo. Shibuya station is a short ride away making it easy to get to any other location. On the walk from the station to the apartment you'll find plenty of handy stores such as a pharmacy, 7-Eleven, and a grocery store. There's even a Lawson convenience store right down the street! I definitely recommend spending a day walking around Shimo-kitazawa as there are a lot of places to eat at that stay open pretty late and quirky shops to browse.
The apartment itself is a little on the cramped side but they make good use of the space. There are two bedrooms and there's a sofa in the living room that turns into a bed, with space in one room for a futon on the floor. There's a kitchen but it's pretty cramped and only two people can sit at a time for a meal. We were here on vacation so we never had a use for the kitchen except to eat a quick onigiri in the morning before heading out. There's tools for everything if you want to cook though. We made use of the of the washing machine/dryer but keep in mind that a wash and dry takes about four hours. I recommend doing the quick wash and doing a number of loads and hanging close out on the balcony while you're out.
A light was out in the bathroom and Happy Tokyo responded very quickly via email that they'd come and change it for us. It wasn't a big deal for us but it was nice to see them respond so quickly. They also give you step by step directions (with photos) on how to get to the location, first from the airport to the station and then the station to the apartment. The pocket Wi-Fi came in handy when we were out. You won't be streaming video with the speeds you can get it but it was still a bit faster then the data speeds I was getting with T-Mobile.
All in all we really loved this location and would definitely come back again!
Nice and spacious compared to everywhere else we stayed. Everything was clean and all the directions and information was very helpful and efficient. We had a difficult time communicating with the owner only because I couldn't figure out how to access the English site while in Japan. The bathroom and shower lights stopped working in the middle of our stay and because I was unable to contact the owners, we had to shower and use the restroom in the dark. Not too big of a deal, but hope that can be figured out so it doesn't happen again. I would definitely consider staying here again. We weren't able to explore Shimo-Kitazawa as much as we wanted because we were trying to do so much in Tokyo, but it was a very safe and quiet neighborhood with a lot of restaurants. The station is also very close to Shibuya and Shinjuku. Thank you for your hospitality! Hope to stay with you again soon.
