Berkeley Hills Studio Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

A queen size bed with a brand new Comfort Foam Mattress beckons you in this totally new, spacious ground floor studio apartment in an architect designed home. The large, fully carpeted bedroom/sitting room, with a pleasant eating space, offers views of the bay. There is a walk in closet, and a dresser for your belongings.

The unit has a separate entrance with off street parking and you can relax on the small porch with your evening wine while enjoying the sunset over San Francisco Bay.

A brand new kitchen includes a refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher, smooth top cooktop, and microwave/convection oven. The bathroom features a large tiled shower with non- stop hot water and sink.

The location is amazing. A 25 minute walk down the hill puts you at the north entrance of the UC Berkeley campus, The #65 bus, which stops across the street, connects to the Berkeley BART station for service to San Francisco, Oakland, Orinda, SFO, OAK, or carries you up the hill to the Lawrence Hall of Science

By auto, it is a 10 minute drive to downtown Berkeley, or 20 minutes into SF.

This is a perfect short-term rental for a visiting professor, a couple or a small family that wants to experience all that the Bay Area has to offer.

What can I say about Berkeley? It is home to one of the world's great universities and is known for the high concentration of fine eating establishments including Chez Panisse by Alice Waters, the Cheese Board Collective, as well as the first ever Peet's Coffee & Tea Shop. Sidewalk cafes, bakeries, coffee houses, wine shops, boutiques, artisan home decor, and flower stands all lend the area a European ambiance. Fourth street has fine shopping in a variety of stores.

Berkeley also features two major theater companies as well as numerous small theater groups, symphonic and chamber orchestras, Cal Performances, several movie houses, and museums.

Come and enjoy!!

Wonderful Berkeley stay

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Jean's VRBO in Berkeley was fantastic. The location was exceptional with beautiful views. The actual apartment was spotless and stocked with dishes and anything you might require. We thought the bed was extremely comfortable with beautiful crisply clean sheets. Jean was nearby for anything we might need or any question we might have. However, she always took care to give us privacy. We travel a great deal both in the States and in Europe and always use VRBOs. We rate this VRBO 10-out-of-10.

Perfect choice!

  • 5 of 5

I was very glad to spend almost two weeks at Jean's place while working in Berkeley. It was private, comfortable and very charming. The foliage and sunsets made it feel wonderfully meditative. Location was great too. I'd highly recommend it for a couple or single person.

This is a perfect apartment

  • 5 of 5

This was absolutely perfect for my wife and me, revisiting old haunts in the Bay Area for 5 days. The location couldn't be better: walking distance to all the restaurants and activities both in North Berkeley and on Solano Avenue (down the scenic path past Indian Rock); and an easy drive to the San Rafael Bridge for our day in Marin. Even so, it's quiet and dark at night -- and the view is dramatic. The apartment itself is new, fresh, spotless, with lots of light, fresh air, and lovely decor (antique furniture, art on the walls, etc.). The bed is extremely comfortable; shower is great; kitchen had all we needed for several meals in. Jean was responsive and helpful, and couldn't have been a more gracious hostess. She even stocked a small library in the apartment with guidebooks and maps for the Bay Area. We will definitely try to stay here again when we return!

So much better than hotel...and cheaper too

  • 5 of 5

I was in Berkeley to pick up my daughter from school at Cal and bring her home for the summer. Of course, so we everyone else and it was graduation weekend. The result was not many hotel rooms and those that were available were horrendously expensive. So I booked this studio on VRBO. I don't think I will ever go back to a hotel in Berkeley. This place was great. Great views of the Bay and such a relaxing setting. I was perfectly located to do things on campus and to get my morning (and afternoon) fix of Philz Coffee. We were near all the good stuff on Shattuck. When you are in a nice place like Berkeley sometimes staying in a hotel can be depressing (and expensive). Staying in this studio in such a nice neighborhood was refreshing and invigorating. The bed was very comfortable too.

Wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

Jean was a superb host. She gave us a warm welcome, had catered for the minutest needs of travellers. This place is a quiet retrieve with breath taking view of the bay and GGB. I've experienced one of the most amazing sunsets from the patio chairs of this rental home.

I'm a frequent traveller to SF & Berkeley - would love to stay again

Outstanding studio property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here the week of 11/24/15, and it was superb. The attention to detail, including all the kitchen necessities, complete furnishings, artistic decor was excellent. Great bed! Great shower! Great view! And a space for the car! We couldn't have asked for more. The property wasn't easy to find, but we had very good phone direction in the dead of night from Jean, the owner. She was always there for needed help in a very non-intrusive way. It was the ultimate "anti-motel!"
