The Owner purchased this house boat in 2011

Why The Owner chose Amsterdam

Living on a houseboat is the best experience there is, you feel free and happy. Therefore I choose to buy this vacation rental so that everybody can experience the pleasure of staying on a houseboat

What makes this house boat unique

The contact with the water is very unique, especially when the majestic swans float by and stay at your window and look you in the eye to beg for something to eat! It''s very special

Loved the Houseboat life!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the neighborhood and the houseboat. We were actually updated to another houseboat across the canal which had a small kitchenette and lovely little balcony over the canal. The communications before and during our stay were prompt and very helpful. We would highly recommend a houseboat rental from this group!

Fantastic Spot

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay and the owners were very pleasant to deal with. The unit was very clean, offered all amenities and some extras, and was overall very nice. The bed was comfortable and it was great to be able to open up the windows to feed the ducks in the morning. I would love to stay again!

A comfortable, fun alternative lodging opportunity

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for four nights in early July. First of all, the houseboat is in a fantastic location. It's in a quiet neighborhood in the Jordaan, about a 10 minute walk from the central train station. It is quite nice inside. The bed is comfortable and you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. As you would expect in a houseboat, it is on the small side and I think it might be a little claustrophobic for more than a four-day stay. (And I can't imagine more than two people staying there.) Still, we found it more than adequate and quite reasonably priced in a city that has lots of pricy hotels accommodations. (And just in case you're wondering, I didn't feel any rocking sensation from being on the water although my husband says he did.) The owner was very accommodating as well. We recommend it for anyone looking for something a little bit different from your standard hotel or bed and breakfast -- and after all isn't Amsterdam all about the canals?

Great place

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this houseboat for 2 days and it was simply perfect! Really nice people renting it out and a great (if not the best) location in Amsterdam, surrounded by great restaurants and cafes. Small kitchen with everything you'll need, great view over the gracht, with big windows allowing you to lie in bed and just enjoy the view. I would definitely stay here again!!!

The view of the canal is fantastic, it's like being in a 18th century painting looking at the beautiful old warehouses and canalhouses. At your big windows you see the swans, ducks and other wateranimals floating by, stopping to beg for a scrap of bread. The contact with the water is unique. The pleasureboats going by with people enjoying a day out on the water puts you in a fantastic mood and makes you want to join in. It''s a unique experience staying on a houseboat!
