Beautiful 2 BR on the quiet side of MDI

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at the Artist Studio, and we plan for a third next year! Clean and meticulously maintained, lovely details throughout the home, private patio with grill and flowers. Marc and Victoria have consistently gone above and beyond as hosts, and dealt promptly with any issue or concern.

We loved being within walking distance of SO many things.... dining, shopping, the Causeway bridge (a hidden gem of SW Harbor!). In close distance are a wide variety of beautiful hikes. Oh, and the washer and dryer in the Studio? Sealed the deal for our family with active kids. :)

We had a fantastic stay at the Artist Studio. Communications with the owners before and during the stay were great - they provided great guidance on dining and area activities. The studio itself was wonderful, spacious and of high quality. We especially appreciated the beautiful bathrooms with high end fixtures, the comfortable furniture, nice linens and the fun decor. The owner has put a lot of his energy and creativity in providing a rental property that is comfortable and fun. And Acadia National Park was a beautiful place to visit and we liked staying in the Quietside community of Southwest Harbor. We will definitely return to the area and to the Artist Studio.

The best place to stay in all of Southwest Harbor

  • 5 of 5

The artist studio is the best place we've stayed in SouthWest harbor. It was perfect for a family of four. The unit is new and one can immediately see the quality and detail of construction and decorating that the owners put into it. From the in floor radiant heat (great for a chilly Maine spring), to the cool Londonesque telephone booth that holds the high end washer/dryer it's obvious the care the owners put into this place. The location is perfect for a short stroll to the shops and restaurants of Southwest harbor, hikes and sightseeing. Then of course you only have a short drive to Acadia sites and Bar Harbor. The kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, the large dining table seats 4 or more comfortably, plenty of books and movies for the kids and adults are handy, bathrooms are beautiful and bedrooms are spacious with plenty of closet space. We highly recommend the Artist Studio and will definitely be coming back there to stay.

Great accommodation in an excellent location

  • 5 of 5

Lovely accommodation for our family of three. Victoria and Marc provided lots of information and top tips for places to visit: the causeway at sunset was beautiful. The artist studio is very convenient for the restaurants of Southwest Harbour, which we visited a few times although also made good use of the barbeque. The apartment is very clean, bright and well-equipped. We would definitely stay here again.

Welcoming, well-kept and genuine atmosphere

  • 5 of 5

Just returning to default world after a one-week stay in the artist loft with dear friends. Almost hesitant to offer a five-star review for fear the property may not be available due to its popularity. Thank you to our hosts Marc and Victoria for the multitude of tiny details that made this an ideal get-away for all of us. From the careful planning of the studio to the thorough orientation to our last goodbye. The loft is a place of beauty and peace and Southwest Harbor by far the best choice for "where" to stay while visiting Acadia. Thank you!

Artist Loft, Anna's Quietside, Southeast Harbor ME

  • 5 of 5

Our stay (4 women) at the Artist Loft in Anna's Quietside Cottages in Southwest Harbor, ME was PHENOMENAL!!!! The Loft was easy to find, beautifully laid out, and very clean. The Loft was a "home" not just a place; our "Shangri-La" to return to every night after hiking and sightseeing. AND eating! :) The kitchen has everything if you are inclined to cook (we chose to eat out most every meal). The bathrooms have a heating option.....NIIIIIICE!!!!! Because of the many TV options, we were able to listen to awesome music when home. Marc took quite a bit of time Sun morning to explain the "lay of the land" as well as must-see sights, excursions and recommended restaurants not to be missed, many within walking distance. The town of Southwest Harbor is a 5 minute walk with lots of places to eat (Eat-A-Pita Cafe....oh YEAH...don't let the name fool you-it's INCREDIBLE!), a great market (with some organic produce/foods, wine and alcohol, deli and lunch/dinner meals to go), hardware store, gift/art shops, drug store, marina (take the ferry to Great Cranberry Island) and the Common Good Soup Kitchen with amazing popovers-don't miss these! The Acadia National Park (our bucket list item and reason to be in Maine....a MUST experience!!!!!!!), Bar Harbor and beautiful gardens are a short drive away. The causeway is a short 7 minute walk and gorgeous; right over the water with amazing views while the sun is setting, rising or in between. Of the many options to stay in this area, the Artist Loft is a gem and has every convenience; you will be supremely happy to stay there (AND sorry to leave!). And last but definitely not least, it's affordable....surprisingly so! You will be very happy choosing the Artist Loft as your home away from home in the Bar Harbor area. We will stay there again!
