The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010
Had the best Superbowl with the buddies..the house finishes have to be the best I've seen in any rental.. plenty of snow & close to everything..be back next year!!!!
This is a beautiful and spacious cabin, close to Valle Crucis but tucked away in a very quiet location. We took our two young sons and had plenty of space for them to run around and a nice rec-room on the basement floor. We enjoyed watching a deer family (including fawn) visit the front yard every day. We went to Tweetsie, Price Lake, and Valle Crucis Community Park, all of which were highly enjoyable. The owner was very responsive when we had a brief power outage (due to a fallen tree in town), and we did not have to deal with a management company, which was nice. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the road up to the cabin is in really terrible condition, so every trip down to the main road was a bit scary, and hard on the tires, even with 4WD. It rained the first day we were there, so that made it worse. Also, the outside of the property doesn't appear to be maintained regularly, as the grass was shin-high, and there were bits of random trash around the perimeter of the house. We were hoping to throw a ball in the grass in front of the house (based on the photos), but that wasn't really possible. Overall, though, we had a great trip and I would recommend this house. One tip - bring hand soap and paper towels - there was none in any of the bathrooms or the kitchen when we arrived, and we did not want to go back out in a rain storm that evening. It would have been easy to throw those items in the trunk when we set out.
What a wonderful experience. The vistas were extraordinary, the accommodations were incredibly clean and well appointed. All we wanted to do was stay on the property and soak up the beauty. Though we had read that the road could be a challenge, two of the three cars were two wheel drive and we have no problem accessing. Would recommend to anyone who just wants to get away and enjoy true luxurious mountain relaxation.
We absolutely Love this property. The location is ideal, you feel like you are just far enough away, yet still near Boone and blowing rock. When the owners built the home, they paid attention to every detail. The pictures do not do it justice. The layout of the house is awesome and we love the kitchen!
Beautiful view, beautiful house, driveway definitely a challenge, but we have 4WD so not an issue for us..upstairs could use its own a/c unit, but prob only an issue a few weeks out of the summer. Picked Blackberries along the driveway. Great hot tub. It is about 15 min to Boone, but drive is gorgeous so we didn't mind.
Great house for a family gathering. The view was wonderful, especially the early morning view. We really enjoyed the outdoor fireplace on a cool evening. Great layout and plenty of room. Close to Appalachian. Great place to stay for graduation weekend.
My wife and I were looking to get away to a quiet secluded cabin for our wedding anniversary.
The pictures of the cabin or the settings do not do either justice. As mentioned in other reviews, travel on the gravel road in route to the cabin is challenging but manageable if you take your time. Once you have made it up the road and to the cabin, you are treated to a spectacular site of the valley below along with the Blue Ridge mountains ascending in the background.
The cabin is very inviting, well appointed and very comfortable. The owner has provided everything you could need to enjoy a week or extended weekend. My wife and I appreciated the large kitchen for cooking delicious meals. The hot tub is extremely relaxing and large enough to accommodate a bigger gathering. We even got in a few rounds of air hockey in the downstairs area.
We spent a day hiking through the property, and spotting deer along the way. Many of the views are breath taking. Our evenings were spent on the beautiful covered porch listening to the brook which runs alongside the property, enjoying the fireplace and reminiscing about our years together.
The owner has truly put together a unique getaway. The quiet and serenity of this cabin are a perfect combination for anyone wanting to get away and enjoy life.
