About the property

2 bedroom, 1 bath (sleeps 8), fabulous view, quiet solitude

We have a great place on Sproat Lake, Vancouver Island. We book (by the week) Sunday to Sunday. Check in is 4:00 p.m. and check out is 12:00 p.m.

Our place is on Taylor Arm of Sproat Lake (if you have ever been to Tofino, Long Beach you see this arm from the highway). It is a beautiful lake, clear and clean. Spectacular scenery.

I am on the property whenever we have guests. I have 5 grand babies and they do spend some time with me during the summer.

It has two bedrooms each has a queen size bed and a set of single bunks. There is a double mattress available to put on the floor in the living room for extra sleeping. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave etc. The living room has a TV/VCR/DVD. High speed internet . The bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Bath towels and linens can be supplied but you must wash on your way out. I have a laundry room with 2 washers & dryers available for your use. Bring your own beach towels. There is a propane bbq available for your use. At the water there is a large dock with sunken stairs & a diving board, shade awning, chairs, for your use as well as an outside firepit which can be used if there is not a FIRE BAN. If you bring a boat there is space to dock it. The cost is $2000.00 Canadian/week based on a family of 4 with a charge of $25/each additional person/night.

Very comfortable! Very affordable!

About Kim

Our lake place has been in the family for 40+ years. It is the favorite gathering place for family and friends.

Why Kim chose Sproat Lake

We were fortunate to have this fabulous vacation spot in our family. Our children grew up on the lake during the summers. Hanging out with cousins and new friends.

What makes this house unique

Because there are no street lights or city lights we get incredible night skies. You see stars like you have never seen them before.

We have always enjoyed the fact that there is no schedule. Stay up late around the campfire and then sleep in in the morning. Wake up and jump in the lake.

Beautiful Sproat lake vacation spot.

  • 5 of 5

Perfect lake getaway for families with children and a dog. This cabin was spacious for a two bedroom with one bath, and very well supplied with lakeside toys such as kayaks, and canoe. The dock is wonderful for playing away the day and we really enjoyed our stay. The owner was kind and gracious and we will return.

Great Time on the Lake

  • 4 of 5

It is hard to say what the best elements were, since we had such a terrific time! Each bedroom had a comfortable queen bed in it, plus a bunk bed-not granny's old hand-me-downs! The house has a large and well appointed kitchen with all the necessary items in it to prepare your usual food. The living room is spacious, and comfortable. The house was very clean, and all our needs were met.

The swimming area is excellent with a large dock and lots of toys to play with. There is no beach-just a stoney area-so not ideal for toddlers. There is a log a boom to delineate the swimming area, a diving board, a small raft and the cleanest, clear water imaginable. Even when the weather was not perfect, the water was inviting. There are a couple of river kayaks, a paddle boat and a row boat available as well. Everything is in good condition. Best of all was the raft, nicknamed Tippy Island which we had lots of fun on, as it see-sawed from one side to the other challenging our balance skills!

Best of all, the owners, Kim and Dan were very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to others. There is a little noise transfer from downstairs, and the house feels a little dark, but otherwise is very comfortable and a very good value for the price. An excellent choice for our family, with children aged 11, 8, and 6.

Beautiful, Relaxing & Fun Family Get Away

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic cottage get away to a beautiful clear & warm lake. The scenery is amazing & tranquil and the clean facilities & amenities are more than I had imagined. The kitchen was equipped with more gadgets than my own. On top of that, the owners are wonderfully sweet & generous. Having 2 kayaks and a row boat to use daily was so much fun, we used them all multiple times a day. The swimming area has a diving board & a very entertaining "Tippy Island" which proved to be loads of fun for all ages. The private dock was like being at a resort with resort loungers and a tent for the shade seekers, just better because you didn't have to reserve your spot. The owners were so kind and brought out lots of fun water toys for the kids to use and even took them cliff jumping one day in their motor boat. The kids want to come back here every summer now for their holiday. Kim & Dan were very accommodating and we really thought the "Sproat Lake Wave" as we drove off was super cute. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a family or group get away. Thanks for a fabulous time!
