Harbor View Suites, 736 4th St W, Wabasha, has a beautifully quiet setting situated in the small town of Wabasha, MN. Harbor View Suites is located next to the DNR Boat Landing and the city’s harbor at Izaak Walton Park. You’ll find the Mississippi River, Beach Park and Slippery’s Restaurant just a short 2-block walk or bike ride from HV. This listing is one of two Suites adjoined - Please look for "Harbor View Pier 2" listing if you want to reserve both sides. EACH SUITE is fully furnished. The Kitchen area is fully equipped including a dining table for 4. The bedroom area has a queen-size bed and TV while the queen-size blowup mattress may be set up in the living area by the fireplace in five minutes; bedding and towels available. You have a whirlpool, cable TV (DVDs & VCR), gas fireplace/AC. Outdoors you have the use of the two shared decks with furniture, outdoor grill, campfire ring and log bench swing. There are many chairs and side tables on the deck that can be moved to the yard. Boat slips are available in the city harbor next to the property with a beautifully maintained boat landing - the best on this part of the River! You will love the friendly people of Wabasha, the shops and restaurants. The National Eagle Center is in Wabasha and well worth the visit! After you are done exploring you may want to take a drive across the Bridge to Wisconsin as well, taking note that the next river bridges are about 30 miles north and about 30 miles south of Wabasha. In early SPRING the ice on the river is breaking up and it's a sight to see! Barges start as soon as the entire river is open. SUMMER has its boating, hiking, biking, golf, fishing and bird-watching You can hire river tour guides that will show you the River, eagle nests and great fishing. Enjoy AUTUMN during ' SeptOber Fest' which is held every weekend from the second weekend in September to the last weekend in October. The colors on the Bluffs are breath-taking!!! WINTER also provides fun; Coffee Mill Ski area is nearby and the perennial ice fishing right in the harbor, so check out the Grumpy Old Men Festival in February! The River usually stays open where the Chippewa River enters the Mississippi just northwest of Wabasha. This entices many eagles to stay in the area all winter long. Frontenac State Park just north of Wabasha at Frontenac, MN is gorgeous for bird watching or hiking with it s views of Lake Pepin and the trails in the woods. Whatever you choose to do you will find great people to welcome you.

About Leslie Seykora

We are Gary and Leslie, two retired teachers who have worn 'other' hats as well. Gary loved to paint houses, Leslie did calligraphy and worked in a financial advisor's office for a time. Right now we are enjoying our new move to Wabasha. We love being in Wabasha because it is a beautiful & friendly place to be! It's also very nice to be able to personally take of our guests at Harbor View if they need something. We are also the parents of 3 adult sons, wonderful daughters-in-law and grandparents to 8 great grands!.

Why Leslie Seykora chose Minnesota

Have to say that as much as we enjoyed bringing our young boys and our boat to Lake City every summer we were delighted to find Wabasha. We came over one day in July about 10+ years ago and found Harbor View to be perfect for us. The people are what's special about a place and Wabasha has wonderful people. When we returned on one of the coldest days in January we found it to be cozy and peaceful. In the fall we love to sit by the fire-ring as we look at the stars and greet those who stroll by. We love its situation right by the trail within walking or biking distance of everywhere! Out dog has loved it too! And we could leave our boat nearby in a public slip or on the trailer right next door. Its been fun to meet people from all over the region and sometimes further!

What makes this condo unique

Wabasha offers a quiet that some of the other rivertowns do not because the railroad or the highway doesn't run right beside the river here! The first time we saw the National Eagle Center it was just a small storefront downtown filled with the most knowledgeable and accommodating volunteers we ever encountered. It is now in a beautiful new building and has only gotten better. Of course the golf is great and the views from the course stupendous. When we desire a little side trip the small towns up and down the river on both sides offer some exciting diversions for adults and kids alike. We are so impressed with the professional people that provide great art, wonderful theater and a superb variety of music. We could go on and on but we hope you will come and seek out the hidden jewels yourself!

Very nice stay and friendly owners~

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I came to stay for our 10 year anniversary and were very pleasantly surprised with the rental and the small town of Wabasha! The unit was very clean and well furnished. It was just a couple minute walk to the docking area and just a few minutes drive to tons of activities.

The owners were very easy to get ahold of and easy to work with.

Owner's Response: Our guests have been discovering that they can put in their kayaks easily while staying at Harbor View in Wabasha. The one nearby Harbor View would be the Ike's Park Access. There are a number of other great places from which to explore the National Wildlife & Fish Refuge nearby as well. Please come and try it out! We'd love to hear about your experiences. We have the BEST guests!

Nice and clean, close to downtown, great hosts

  • 5 of 5

The property was nice and clean. The local area was very nice and we had a great time. My wife and I enjoyed our time together. So many great outdoor activities near by too. We walked, hiked, biked, motorcycled down to Hansens hold up bar and grill and stopped at a local winery. Will come again some day for sure.

We booked this property for our anniversary and fell in love with everything about it!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were looking for a quiet get away for our anniverscary, but a place that also had options of things do around the town. Harbor View by far exceeded our expectations and the owners Gary & Leslie were the nicest couple!! The place itself is the perfect size for 2 people, accommodating enough to allow pets, and the hot tub is superb! Things to do: visit the National Eagle Center, sit on the patio for some drinks at Slippery's, cross the river and grab some ice cream/cheese/super soft caramels at Nelson's Creamery, great pizza at Riverboat Lanes (we had it delivered), or simply walk along the river---it's such a great town and everyone is so nice! Definitely a place to keep on your radar--it's on ours and I know we'll be headed back for another visit!

Good for the price

  • 4 of 5

The price of this condo is comparable to that of the local hotel, and for that reason, it seems a fair deal. That said, the metal siding and roof act as a cell phone coverage barrier. 4G coverage on the deck, and little to no coverage inside. Wifi is not provided. If you are looking to settle in a watch TV at night, the channels are very limited and low quality. TV volumes are pretty low. Had volume at 100% and with air conditioning on low, really couldn't hear anything. The TV in the bedroom is a tiny TV/VCR combo.

The bed was extremely comfy! The cabin/condo is over all appointed very nicely.

With some wifi, and cheap upgrades to the TVs (and adding satellite or extended cable), this would be an easy 5 star rating!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review, Jason! And you are right in that we don't have wi-fi which we tell guests on the website. Wi-fi is easy to access at many of the restaurants as well as the Public Library which is downtown. We never wanted it when we went for a "get-away" and find that most of our guests are glad not to have it! The same is true of the TV's in the unit. Most people do not come for the TV/cable so we have kept that to a minimum as well. As for the volume, I wish you would have . . . gone out on the deck . . . and called or texted us if you were having trouble. BOTH the cable box and the TV remotes have volume control. I try to keep at least one of them on high so that you can use the other but even though I have written instructions sometimes people change things. I'm so sorry you couldn't hear the TV. As far as getting more TV channels we don't see that happening in the near future since this is a 'vacation' place! Finally, in 10 years we have never had a complaint about the cellphone reception. I did some research and do believe that some people who do not have good to excellent reception will have trouble in a building with a metal roof/siding. That may or may not have been the case with your phone. I'm glad that you could get reception just outside your door! We are happy to provide a 'cabin-like' atmosphere in a town like Wabasha as an alternative to a hotel!

Start your day with breakfast at Stacy's Restaurant downtown - Excellent! Then hike on the bluffs or rent bikes for the trail. Swim in the river or at the Municipal pool. Stop in Broken Paddle Tours to sign on with kayaking lessons and more. Get some fishing tips from the people who meet at the fishing raft next to the levy just outside of town. Six miles from our place you will find Lark Toy Company which Readers Digest chose as one of the 10 best toy stores in the world! You will find toys for all ages as well as mini-golf with colored water falls, llamas grazing in the back, toy-makers busy at work where you can watch and, best of all, a handmade unique indoor Carousel that you won't want to pass up! Sandwiches and treats are sold there as well. It is an adventure in itself south of Wabasha near Kellogg on Hwy 61. Six miles going west on Hwy 61 history buffs will find the excellent Wabasha County Museum. Great little shops & vineyards are on BOTH sides of the Mississippi along the Great River Roads. Walk, bike or drive across the bridge at Wabasha to Nelson, WI and stop at the Nelson Creamery for either coffee, wine or scrumptious sandwiches and the best ice cream around. Golf at The Bluffs at Coffee Mill just up the bluff. If you don't golf stop for dinner and enjoy the splendid views of the Mississippi and Chippewa River valleys from their dining room and patio. In the winter ski or tube down the hills at Coffee Mill Ski area. It has the longest vertical drop in the area. Last but not least - Don't miss the National Eagle Center downtown! One of only two in the nation, these people KNOW eagles. It is a fun place to learn about our nation's bird and to see about four or five of them up close and personal. You'll love it.
