About Chris Beecroft

Jen, Chris and family purchased the home partially constructed and have been working on completing it over the last eight years. We live in the busy town of Banff and relish in our time away at the cabin. We enjoy it so much we wanted to share it with others and help pay for ongoing expenses.

Chris Beecroft purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Chris Beecroft chose British Columbia

We loved camping in the Invermere and Windermere Area but found the area to be a bit busy for us. A friend's parents own a place at Columbia Ridge Estates and we vacationed there with them. When we stumbled upon the area 7 years later we fell in love with the quiet location but appreciated that it was close enough to day trip to the bigger centres of Invermere, Kimberley, and Panorama.

What makes this cabin unique

We fell in love with having the view of the lake from the front window and then the base of the mountain just out the other side of the property. The wildlife is abundant with Bighorn Sheep, Bald Eagles, Deer, Elk, Bears and even the aloof Cougar. The stars from the deck are amazing and the kids often camp out on the deck with their air mattresses.

Wonderful! Beautiful Mountain Home

  • 5 of 5

We spent a weekend at this lovely home in the woods. We were a group of families with kids ranging from 9-13 and there was something for everyone to enjoy. It is fully equipped, very comfortable and just generally a great place to get away. Our main focus for the weekend was hiking and found that there were a lot of lovely places to explore.

Chris was very responsive and helpful and we will definitely plan another visit sometime soon.

Home/location nice. Not well cleaned or maintained.

  • 1 of 5

The floors and tables were not clean, only 1 light of 4 working in bathroom,

maintenance needs work, bathroom basic supplies low or not at all, pull out mattress in basement impossible to sleep on, poor communication with owner, who was impolite and said that if we wrote him a poor review he would write one "right back at us" and said we had lied to him about the amount of people when we booked. In fact, we e-mailed him with 3 more people once we had the dates everyone was coming, several days before we went so he was able to charge more..

Beautiful house - loved the deck and the lake view.

  • 4 of 5

Very kid friendly with a playground and lots of toys in the house and a carpeted play area. Lots of toys for the adults to play with too (pool, ping pong, shuffleboard). Large deck for dinners and sitting out enjoying the weather and the view, and lots of places to sit in sun or shade as you like. Very close to the beach and boat launch - close enough to walk if you want some exercise. Really appreciated the free pass for the beach/boat launch area as well.

Chris was great to deal with, quick to respond, and very accommodating with our requests. We had a great time!

Great location with beautiful warm lake

  • 4 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful time in Canal Flats. The house was well appointed and only a short walk to the lake. Lots of wildlife around and a couple of thunderstorms. The kitchen and layout of the place is great. The pullout bed downstairs is not comfortable so we slept on the floor. The bunk beds are great for kids.
