Villa 66 is a new (August 2015) 4 bedroom 4 bath rental villa with private pool in the peaceful, safe, secure and very popular Samaan Grove gated development. The well groomed surroundings and the lakes make the environment very park-like, and guests will enjoy the very quiet, private and peaceful surroundings.
The villa is specifically designed to be a high quality, spacious luxury holiday retreat. No detail has been overlooked, and no compromises have been made on the build quality, finishes and furnishings. At 2500 square feet, even large groups will not feel cramped at any time. The large and spacious Great Room, porch, pool deck, and side terrace allows everyone to spread out and find their own space for relaxing. Attention has even been given to parking for larger groups - there is enough parking space for up to 4 vehicles in the parking area.
With its 4 bedrooms and 4 ensuite bathrooms, holidaying groups will have much greater flexibility using the sleeping accommodations compared to smaller 3 bedroom villas. The villa is ideally suited for 4 couples or 2 or 3 families with children. There are two master bedrooms with King beds, and the other 2 bedrooms have 2 Queen beds each.
This is a premium quality villa, with quality features such as full gypsum tray or bulkhead ceilings throughout, porcelain tile floors, extensive recessed lighting, fully trimmed with ceiling, window, door and floor mouldings, and painted in vibrant Caribbean colours. The feeling that you will experience is one of calm, tasteful elegance. High grade finishes and furnishings include stainless steel kitchen appliances, granite kitchen counter tops, custom kitchen cabinetry, European style walk-in showers with tempered glass panels for safety, rain shower heads for luxurious bathing, full air conditioning everywhere including the Great Room, and leather upholstered sofas.
For dining, you have a choice of a 10-seater dining set in the dining area, or a 8-seater outdoor dining set on the porch. The porch is furnished with outdoor conversation furniture and a dining set for relaxing, or al fresco dining using the large gas grill provided.
The kitchen has an island/bar with bar stools for enjoying casual snacks or after beach/after pool drinks, and is open to the living and dining areas to create a bright, airy and roomy space to relax and enjoy your Tobago holiday. The kitchen has all the small appliances guests would normally expect: electric kettle, coffeemaker, convection toaster oven, and blender for smoothies, slushes and margaritas! Major kitchen appliances are all stainless steel: smooth-top electric stove, side by side fridge with ice and water dispenser, dishwasher, and a combination range hood/microwave. For casual cooking and eating, what would be better than to throw some ribs, steaks, chicken or mahi mahi on the large BBQ gas grill?
The living and dining area connects to the porch and a side terrace via timber and glass doors. Even the wall dividers to the porch and terrace are fully glassed, making the interior bright and airy, and allowing guests inside the house to see everything that is going on in the porch, terrace, swimming pool or pool deck. This is especially reassuring for parents who want to keep a close eye on their children who might be on the pool deck or in the pool, even from inside the villa. Four poolside loungers are provided for relaxing on the pool deck or even in the cool water of the swimming pool.
The large 12' x 30' swimming pool has been planned for guests' full enjoyment and relaxation: it is large enough for big groups; there are 3 different depths - 18' which is perfect for small children to bathe safely (although adults also love to put their loungers in this part of the pool so they can tan while staying nice and cool), 32' for older children, and 52' in the deep end which even non-swimming adults can enjoy. There is of course a large gas BBQ grill which is available for guest use. In the living area, there is a 48' flat screen TV with a Blu Ray DVD player which is great for keeping the kids happy.
If you desire privacy while on the porch or poolside, the backyard looks out onto one of the lakes with undeveloped land beyond. Privacy screens on the wall adjoining the villa next door, and a high wall on the other side means that you will not have any privacy concerns while at the villa.
Each bath shower area is fully walk-in, with tempered glass panels for safety and rainshower heads for luxurious bathing. The open showers also mean that mobility challenged guests are accommodated, as there is no ledge for them to have to step over.
Guests' comfort is assured at all times: each bedroom is air conditioned with a split AC unit for quiet operation, as well as a ceiling fan for those who prefer to sleep without AC. The Great Room living/dining/kitchen area has a ceiling fan and 2 split air conditioners. The porch is not left out, as there are 2 ceiling fans on the porch for use whenever the breezes die out.
No detail has been spared. There is a full sized clothes washer and dryer in the laundry room, and a steam iron/ironing board should you need them. A tankless water heater means you will never run out of hot water. Two 800 gallon water storage tanks also mean that you will not experience any water shortage.
Samaan Grove is a gated development, with a 7/24 hour guard at the entry, and night-time patrols. Guests will love the peaceful and quiet ambiance of the development. The groomed empty lots and lakes give the area a very park-like feeling. Bird watchers will enjoy seeing the varieties of birds in the development, especially the ones that are drawn to the lakes. If you are very lucky, you might catch a rare sighting of one of the very shy Caimans that live in the lakes, or see an Anhinga (an underwater swimming bird) stick its head above water with a fish in its beak, toss it then catch it head first to swallow it, before ducking back underwater to look for more fish to catch.
The development is not within walking distance to beaches, but is very close by car: Store Bay, Pigeon Point, and Mt Irvine beaches are all within 6-9 minutes drive. The airport is 6-8 minutes away, and the Port of Scarborough is about 12-14 minutes away.
Very nice layout which adds to your comfort. I was impressed of how much space there is regarding accommodation. The photos displayed justified my actual expectations and my family enjoyed the peaceful environment.
Had a really great time and enjoyed every second.... very quiet ... and extremely safe and most of all very comfortable....already planning our return.

We were most pleased at how spacious the house is - 4 bedrooms; each has its own bathroom! Definitely the best villa I have stayed at in Tobago.

There is a lake behind the house where we saw two caimans ..fun for the kids!
Mr. Alleyne was very accommodating and so kind; allowed us to stay an hour plus after check out so closer to our flight departure time and then offered to drop us to the airport!

Wow..where do i begin?!Villa 66 was amazing..definitely the BEST villa i have stayed at thus far in Tobago..Upon arrival,we were greeted by a very pleasant Mr.Alleyne..he had to wait on me a bit due to a couple delays but he was still soo welcoming..the surroundings of the villa is perfect..nice little yard space for the kids..the maximum occupancy is 12 persons but this villa is very big..lovely open plan living/dining/kitchen area..very modern..vibrant colours..great appliances and amenities..my family and i were very happy and comfortable at the villa and we have already started planning our next visit..my advice though..don't stay for just a weekend..your heart will break when you have to leave..i would recommend this villa to everyone..i'm certain you wont regret renting it!!

My friends and I stayed at this Villa during the beginning of October. The Villa was more than what we expected. The pictures online doesn't do justice. The Villa was spot on clean and modern with full amenities for your every need... The owner Mr. Alleyne was very accommodating and my friends were so pleased. Before leaving this Villa my friends and I already started making plans for our next visit. It was truly a wonderful stay in this clean and peaceful community and I think this Villa was by far the best I've ever stayed in throughout my visits to Tobago.
The south-western side of Tobago is the heart of Tobago's tourist area. If you are interested in experiencing the tastes of Tobago, there is a very large number of different levels of food outlets ranging from high grade restaurants like Tamaras in the Coco Reef Hotel, to small take out outlets everywhere. Some of the must-try places for visitors interested in experiencing what there is to offer are:
- The food stall ladies at Store Bay (Miss Jean, Miss Trim, Miss Alfred) offer their famous Curried Crab and Dumplings every day, in additional to other local dishes
- Skewers (for Arabic dishes) - grilled meats, fish, or shrimp with familiar side dishes like hummus and baba ganoush, Arabic salads like fattoush and tabbouleh, Arabic rice, parsley potatoes etc plus staples like steak fries
- Chefs & BBQ offers a very wide range of local dishes every day, all offered cafeteria style, so you can select whatever catches your eye
- La Cantina offers genuine Italian thin-crust pizza made by genuine Italians, baked in a wood burning oven.
If you want to sample street food, try Doubles or Aloo Pies from one of the roadside vendors. Most weekday mornings, they are located at the airport opposite the airport parking lot, at the corner intersection to Pigeon Point at Milford Road, in the car park at Stumpy's Emporium (mostly afternoons), at the side road just past the entrance to the Lowlands Mall, or in Scarborough on the Milford Road approach to Scarborough by the sea (their van is called Hot on D Spot).
Other highly recommended restaurants elsewhere are Seahorse Inn (located overlooking Stonehaven Bay, reservations highly recommended), La Tartaruga (located in Buccoo Villa, best Italian restaurant on the island, with a great wine selection), Fish Pot (located in Pleasant Prospect, just before Stonehaven Bay, same day caught fresh fish every day), Shore Things (very casual rustic place by the sea, in Lambeau - be sure to try their Coconut Cream Pie), the restaurant at Kariwak Hotel (off the Store Bay local road neat to the airport) offers excellent local lunches and dinners every day.
If you're interested in Tobago style breakfast, check out the two best known outlets - Golden Girls Bakery and Rosie's - they offer local "bake" with fillings like Buljol or Smoked Herring. Golden Girls also offers a thick vegetable or Cow Heel Soup on mornings from about 9:30AM, but is usually sold out before 11:30AM.
For supermarket shopping, the two best known supermarkets are Pennysavers (located on the Milford Road in Canaan) or RT Morshead (located on the Buccoo Road in Mt Pleasant). They are both about 1.5 miles away. For basic groceries plus fruit and vegetables, Canaan Food Basket is just a mile away on Milford Road.
Sports minded persons have lots of options: try horseback riding with Veronika and Lennon (located in Buccoo village, business name is "Being with Horses"), for sea sports like stand up paddleboarding, sailing, kiteboarding, windsurfing and parasailing are all available from Radical Sports at Pigeon Point, for fishing charters look to "Hard Play" for fishing charters, for golf, both Tobago Plantations and Mt Irvine are located less than 3 miles away.
Of course, for lazing at the beach, the best known beaches of Store Bay, Pigeon Point, and Mt Irvine are all less than 8 minutes' drive away. Less well known but very popular with "in the know" visitors and locals is the beach at No Man's Land. This is landside accessible exclusively from the Samaan Grove development (but note that there is an access charge). Many people consider No Man's Land the best beach on the island, and it's especially suitable for young children as the water is typically crystal clear and glass calm due to the reefs offshore. Go early, before the tour boats start stopping by, and you will have the entire beach to yourself in blissfully peaceful and quiet surroundings. Just remember that there are no bathroom facilities and you need to take away your own garbage. High clearance vehicles recommended especially in the wet season, due to the unpaved track.

The rates shown are for 5-6 guests. The actual rate bands are: Up to 4 guests, 5-6 guests, 7-8 guests, 9-10 guests, 11-12 guests. Children under 3 are free. Children of all other ages over 3 count as a guest. Always ask for a quote based on your group size and ages of children.
There are 3 rate seasons: regular season, low season (October 1 to November 30), and high season (the weeks of Christmas and New Years, Carnival Friday to the Sunday after Ash Wednesday, Easter from Good Friday to the Sunday after Easter Sunday).
Cancellations less than 1 month from arrival are subject to a cancellation penalty, but if the villa is rebooked for the same period by someone else, any penalty taken will be refunded.
The security deposit is usually refunded within 7 days after departure. Overseas refunds are normally done via mailed bank draft, which can take as long as 2-3 weeks to arrive.
There are no additional charges for WiFi, housekeeping, or taxes. Housekeeping is not provided on weekends (Saturdays or Sundays) or for short stays of 2-3 nights. For longer stays, the housekeeper will come Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays as appropriate, but will not come the day before check out.
Late check out (if available) after 5PM until 11PM is subject to a late check out charge of USD $65.
A reservation payment of 1 night's rate is required to book. This is not applied towards the rent but becomes the (refundable) security deposit at arrival. The full rental payment is due 1 month before arrival. TT guests pay by deposit to a TT bank account. Overseas guests pay via wire transfer. We cannot take credit card payments (eg Paypal). Ask about other payment options.
