About Mark and Diane Stapleton

We live in the Dallas Texas area and recently downsized. Mark grew up in this part of the world and once Diane was introduced to the beautiful mountains she fell in love with the area. We have a small plane and fly ourselves out there when we can to visit our beautiful cabin. Diane is from Corpus Christi originally and went to Trinity. Mark grew up in SC and Atlanta went to Emory.

Why Mark and Diane Stapleton chose North Georgia Mountains

Clayton is a charming little town with so many great outdoor activities nearby and great shops and restaurants, too! So much of this area is surrounded by national forest and will remain undeveloped, which means relaxing and quiet! We've been visiting this area for several years and decided to buy! Our cabin has views from every room. It is like being in a tree house, has a deck and a screened in porch. From the master suite loft you wake up to a view of the mountains. Although it is very quiet and secluded you are only 6 minutes from town. We bought the cabin in May, have made many improvements and added all new furniture inside and out. We have features many cabins don't. Direct TV, EXCELLENT cell coverage and internet. Stay as connected or as disconnected as you want. Half the time we are there for a couple of days before we even turn on the TV. It is our retreat from the city and stress.

What makes this house unique

Our cabin is centrally located; very close to many major attractions. We are a gated community, which affords even more privacy. Designer interiors, stained glass windows, ample parking. The house is ALL windows and the views from the deck are breathtaking. You have the choice to sit on the deck or relax on the screen porch. We have a grill on the deck and a fire pit outside.

Christmas Mountain Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from an amazing Christmas mini vacation in beautiful Clayton, GA. The Mountain Treehouse cabin was fantastic, well appointed and maintained and everything we wished for. The layout was perfect for two couples providing everyone with privacy. We loved the large decks on two levels and forest views. It was remote, yet close enough to Clayton for shopping and dining. We brought our dogs who had an equally enjoyable time accompanying us on some great hiking trails. The German town of Helen is only 45 minutes away and worth a drive. Thank you to the Stapleton's for sharing their wonderful home with us. We highly recommend this property.

Relaxing & peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Great place to getaway and relax. We shared the treehouse with a couple of friends and had the most peaceful time. The weather was incredible and our time passed much quicker than we all had hoped. The house gives you a sense of comfort and that's not by accident (the Stapleton's did an excellent job of creating a welcoming environment). I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to getaway from the busyness of life. Great for couples.

Relaxing Fall Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a great location for our family to get away for a Fall break. The house is clean, warm and inviting. The floor to ceiling windows in the main room give you the feeling of sitting outdoors even when you are inside. We also enjoyed all the amazing scenery in the area, with day trips to Dry Falls, Highlands and Black Rock Mountain. And the Tiger Drive In is minutes away for a fun movie watching experience. Thanks for a great place to relax!

A little piece of heaven

  • 5 of 5

The pictures, although nice, do not do this house justice. The home is beautiful. The view of the mountains made me want to just sit on the deck all evening. Watching clouds and storms move over the mountains was magical, and relaxing. When the storm hits I just moved to screened in porch. What was nice is being in a secluded home on the mountain yet close to a wonderful quaint town. We loved Clayton! White water rafting with NOC was 15-20 minutes away. The rivers were so peaceful and beautiful. My kids,12.&15, husband and myself would not hesitate to return.
