These luxurious flats are located in an elegant Georgian townhouse, less than a 5 minute walk from central Princes Street and provide a very high standard of accommodation.

The first floor unit (up one flight of stairs), apartment 2, is bi-annually inspected by the Scottish Tourist Board and awarded 5 stars - a world class grading. The flat is superbly equipped with a 43' plasma screen TV and an integrated sound system supplying music to every room in the flat. The 3 large windows overlook the delightful private Queen Street gardens for which a key is provided. This elegant room benefits from a remote controlled gas coal-effect fire and the two large sofas convert into beds should guests be staying over. The modern kitchen has granite worktops and is fully equipped with a Miele washer/dryer, Siemens dishwasher, two Siemens ovens - one with microwave - fridge freezer, waste disposal unit and wall-mounted LCD TV. There is a 3 ring electric induction hob and a large gas ring to choose from. The luxury shower has a ceiling 'drench' head and 4 body jets. The bedroom, situated to the quiet rear of the property, has a fantastic antique 4 poster bed, fitted wardrobes and dressing table. Clock radio, hair dryer, iron and ironing board are provided as is free Wi-Fi.

The ground floor apartment (no 1) has a similarly impressive living room but has the added feature of an early 19th century wall mural. The kitchen is well equipped and includes a dishwasher and washer/dryer. The stylish bedroom faces the quiet rear of the building. Please note that the shower room is accessed from the bedroom.

The apartment overlooks the private Queen Street Gardens for which a key is provided. This is a peaceful haven in the middle of the city centre with manicured lawns, mature trees and an array of beautiful flowers and shrubs. There is small lake with an island in the gardens which is reputed to have given Robert Louis Stevenson (who lived on the other side of the gardens when he was a boy) the idea for his book 'Treasure Island'.

Fabulous apartment, excellent location!

Francois' apartment, in the heart of New Town Edinburgh, is absolutely perfect in every way. The well-appointed decor, period vibe, everything-you-need amenities and centralized location are everything (and anything) a visitor could ask for.....and then some. Our travel plans changed so that we were arriving very early in the morning (7:30 am) on our check-in day. Francois not only made the apartment available earlier, but he was even there at the front door upon our arrival - waiting to let us in and give us the tour. Extremely generous and unexpected! He is a fabulous host.

The apartment is perfectly located in the heart of New Town - surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants - and within minutes walk of Old Town and Waverly Train Station. We couldn't have asked for a better location. Two blocks behind the apartment is Rose Street - which is a cute pedestrian area with restaurants and bars. If you want a change from the local fare, we highly recommend the Rose Street Brewery for either the grilled salmon or whitefish. For a diverse (and inexpensive) selection of fresh seafood, hop right next door to the Mussel Inn. We stumbled upon the Mussel Inn on our last night and if we had found it earlier in our stay we would probably have not eaten anywhere else. The food and service are very, very good.

There are a great many places to see in Edinburgh - unfortunately, too many to list here. But if you are planning a visit, you would be very well served to book your stay in one of Francois fabulous apartments. Five stars, plus. Thank you Francois. We sincerely appreciate the wonderful hospitality!

Felt at home!

Fantastic location! It was convenient to walk to Old Town, Dean Village and the many pubs and restaurants in New Town. And the Queen Street Gardens were so peaceful. Francois did a great job of explaining everything to us and suggested a wonderful Italian restaurant nearby. He even helped us when we were trying to get pizza delivered! Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was stylish and high tech. I do have a few suggestions that could make this wonderful apartment even better. It's time to replace the carpet and sofa. Both are pretty worn out. The washer/dryer is new and confusing. I couldn't figure out how to get my clothes out of the dryer without letting it run it's full course of 1 1/2 hours of drying. Because of this my clothes were terribly shrunken. I suggest that if guests use this machine, they only wash their clothes and just let them air dry. Don't let these suggestions stop you from booking this apartment, though. It was lovely and we felt completely at home in the beautiful city of Edinburgh.

Excellent central location to the many attractions Edinburgh has to offer.

We had a superb time, all within walking distance of the many excellent attractions in Edinburgh. The flat is centrally located and spacious for entertaining guests or just kicking back to relax. The Queens Garden is across the street and provides a lovely commune with nature. Francois is a very good landlord and will respond to any situation that may arise with the property. The best recommendation I can offer is that I would not hesitate in booking another visit.
