Great location and comfortable large living spaces

  • 4 of 5

We spent the Christmas Holidays in Portland with our extended family. 7 of us stayed here very comfortably for four days. We really loved the dining room with the extra large dining room set up that was perfect for our Christmas dinner for our extended family. We brought some Christmas decorations of our own and that made the place almost like home during our time here. Two bathrooms also was very convenient. Living room is also very comfy with a large flat screen TV - much like what we have at home so that we can enjoy movies by just hooking up our phone with our cables. It is just blocks away from the water and the park. And a short drive to the city with all of Portland's amenities. The only difficult part was not really the any fault of the house but this general residential area and downtown Portland is short of parking. Street parking was not easy to find and also need to be aware of parking restrictions for street cleaning. Ended up with couple of parking tickets.

Beautiful home in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

This home is historically charming, yet with all the modern amenities you'd want in a vacation rental. My family of 4 stayed there (2 kids, ages 10 and 7), and we had plenty of room to spare. Nick was a wonderful host, always a phone call or text away, and came to meet us personally and answer any questions we had.

The home was exactly as shown in the listing, with all the comforts of home. It was spotless when we arrived, and even had all the little touches you wouldn't expect (night lights in all the rooms, shampoo and conditioner, etc.).

I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone; I'd return here myself in a heartbeat if I make it back to Portland. The area of town that it's in is quaint and quiet, and just a 3 minute walk from the Promenade where you can watch the sunrise; or 3 minutes up the hill to a cute little coffee shop where you can have breakfast. Just a 5 minute drive from Old Port and everything you'd want to see there.

Thanks, Nick, for a great stay! Hoping to return to Maine someday!

Beautiful Wedding Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at "Nick's" place. Just beautiful, sooo big and clean and we wanted for nothing! Our niece was married on Little Diamond Islan d and the convenience to the ferry and downtown Portland was perfect. Even though it was a gray rainy weekend Portland and Munjoy Hill shined bright. My other relatives that stayed in hotels were very jealous of our comfy spot and 2 bathrooms! haha. The Rosemont Market and Front Room were welcoming and yummy and the Eastern Promenade is a treasure. We can't wait to stay again and continue our "tour" of Portland and Casco Bay! Recommended highly! Thanks so much. Susan and Tom, Lansdale PA

The Best Place to Stay in Portland!!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 10 girls came to Portland from Boston, New York and Denver, and we fell in love with Portland! Nick's house was amazing and central to our fantastic weekend for the following reasons:

1. Location: it's within walking distance to great cafes/restaurants on congress, the beach (note: the view overlooking casco bay from munjoy hill is incredible!) and bars/nightlife in the downtown area is only 20 mins. It's perfect! The best of Portland is at your doorstep.

2. Comfort: Nick's house is tastefully decorated- elegant, modern and best of all comfortable. After we went kayaking and hiking, it was a nice place to relax and unwind in.

3. Hospitality: Nick and his family went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We can't thank them enough for all that they did!!

I can't wait to come back to Portland, and when I do, I will definitely be staying here :)

Quiet, clean, spacious in perfect Portland location

  • 5 of 5

The Munjoy Hill apt. Is in the perfect location for enjoying all that Portland has to offer. It is clean, spacious , comfortable and best of all stocked with all the little basic necessities in kitchen and bathrooms that make an initial trip to a grocery store unnecessary . The owners are always there to help with any questions or problems you may have. We will certainly try to book this property on our next visit....5 stars, no question!

Apartment is 20 steps to Congress St. where you will have stunning views of Casco Bay. The opposite end of the street offers an equally impressive view of the water. There is a walking path close by that in one direction goes to Portland's Old Port or venture in the other direction to connect to the 3.75 mile Back Bay area walking path.

Portland is an ideal 'home base' to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage or to do holiday shopping in downtown Portland, the Old Port or the nearby outlets in Freeport, just a 20 minute drive.

Drive across the bridge to Cape Elizabeth to see lighthouses and breathtaking views of the coast.

There are several beaches and state parks the are approximately a 20 to 30 minute drive.
