About the property

3 Bedrooms, 1.5 Bath, Sleeps 6

You'll love relaxing at our charming yet spacious home after visiting area colleges, museums, historic sites, and all the other great things Boston has to offer. We're located steps from public transportation, and also an easy drive to the Back Bay, medical area, or downtown. Our quiet, tree-lined street is safe and within walking distance of several restaurants, stores and a playground.

The first floor has a well-equipped modern kitchen that opens onto a family room with large screen HD TV, a dining room with seating for six, and a large living room with fireplace. There's also a deck with grill and grassy area out back for the kids to play. A half-bath is also located on the first floor.

There are three large bedrooms on the second floor, two with queen beds, one with a full size bunk with a twin on top. There is a renovated, full bath with tub and shower on the second floor.

The house is located on the Brookline/ West Roxbury border with easy access to the Green and Orange MBTA lines. We're also within walking distance of the commuter rail, which gets you into BackBay or downtown within 30 minutes. We're a 10 minute drive from Boston College, 15 minutes from the Longwood medical area, and 30 minutes from Logan Airport. While convenient to Boston's historic, cultural and shopping sites, the house also is close to several beautiful parks where you can bike, walk or hike. These include the Arnold Arboretum, Larz Anderson, and the Blue Hills.

There's plenty of free on-street parking as well as a driveway providing access to an additional parking spot behind the house.

The house has steam heat with a programmable thermostat, room air conditioners in every bedroom and in the family room, WI-Fi, flat screen high definition TV, iron board and iron. All linens and towels are provided. We can also provide a portacrib if you need one.

This is a great place to come home and relax after exploring all that Boston has to offer!

Comfort, location and charm!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I grew up in Brookline but moved away 17 years ago. This was our first time being back for Thanksgiving with our 3 kids. We stayed for a week and kept congratulating ourselves on our choice of accommodations. The house is charming and cozy, very well stocked and has comfortable bedrooms. The heat and hot water worked great despite the cold weather. The kitchen was more spacious than the photos suggest and very easy to cook in. It was nice to have a living room and family room. My three year old was delighted to find a little playroom in the basement and my teenage son enjoyed the basketball hoop in the back. My tween daughter liked the Tiffany blue bedroom and bunk bed. It was just great to have enough room for everyone in a really convenient location. It’s a very short drive to the Chestnut Hill T or to Brookline/Boston/Cambridge. We truly had a wonderful and memorable week and The Yellow House played a starring role. We would definitely want to stay again when we visit Boston.

Charming home with warm, comfortable accommodations in a quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

The house provides the historic charm and beauty with all of the conveniences of home and more. Donna even had birthday candles available so we could celebrate a family members big day during our stay! We really enjoyed being away from the busy streets of Boston in a quiet, tree lined community. All of the major Boston attractions are within a 30 minute drive but the traffic is awful so consider public transportation. I would certainly recommend Donna's place, especially for families and couples who want to enjoy some fresh air in a quiet setting. Some stores and restaurants are within a mile of this West Roxbury house but you have access to pretty much everything Boston has to offer without the outrageous corporate hotel rates.

Great Property!

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our guys trip to watch sports and see Boston. The house met all our needs, was clean and set up nicely in a beautiful area. Fenway Park and Downtown were a close Uber ride. Thanks for the accommodations and I would definitely stay there again if we choose that area for future trips.

Car: recommended

The best of both worlds - close proximity to all Boston has to offer without the noise and parking hassles of downtown. We're located on a quiet, tree-lined street with plenty of free parking. BC, Fenway Park, Boston Children's Hospital and other hospitals in the Boston Medical Area are all within 5 miles of the house. Easy access to public transportation (both the subway and the commuter rail), Routes 9, 128 and the Mass Pike, enables you to easily explore all the great sights in the city as well as in the surrounding area.
