We were a group of 7 adult women, 1 child and 2 babies and used 5 of the 6 bedrooms, for a weekend stay. The photos are accurate to what it looked like when we were there.
The large space, 3 bathrooms and several bedrooms were great for us to have room for both gathering and privacy. The location was close to downtown and easy access to shopping and groceries. Isidro is a super friendly guy, very easy to deal with and answered texts fast when we had questions.
The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook and eat and there was a surprisingly large amount of condiments, dry goods and spices available also. The bathrooms have nice shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion products. Beds were older (squeaky) but comfy, with the exception of one in the basement which was very hard and we didn't use that room, but we didn't need it so that was okay. Lots of parking in the back. The dining table is a little small for such a large place, but there were extra folding chairs. We sat 8 around it but that was the max.
Overall, we were pleased with our stay and happy we chose this rental option over newer, smaller condos that we looked at, because each of us having our own room was great. However, the house is older and has probably been rented for a few large parties, could use a few repairs - so don't expect perfection!
But, I think when renting places to stay you should always keep an open mind that the dwelling is a rental and therefore might not be kept to the standard of what you're used to at home. Consider that there is no damage deposit, the cleaning fee is smaller than many, AND he's not charging per person until more than 13 occupants...I mean you really can't beat the price for a home this large and in this area. Which is exactly why we chose it, and for 1 weekend with several people we would do so again.
Yes, this is an older house and it has some of the eccentricities an older house tends to have. But, it is super spacious, is in a very prime location of Vancouver, is very well appointed, and the manager is a good host. Spacious: 6 bedrooms for a total of 7 beds, all double or larger size, 3 living areas with couches which can sleep more guests, and 3 bathrooms. Location: you don't need a car to see any of Vancouver if you stay here - a few minutes walk from major artery bus lines and the neighborhood itself is beautiful. Well appointed: full size kitchen with all the major appliances and many counter top appliances available, pots, pans, dishes & utensils plus salt & pepper, flour, oil, coffee, tea & sugar, and basic condiments provided; full size washer & dryer (detergent provided), drying rack & folding table, ironing board & iron in the laundry room; lots of bed linens & towels; body wash, shampoo & conditioner, hair dryer provided in each bathroom; lots of hangers in each bedroom's closet. Oh, and the water pressure & hot water is excellent in all 3 bathrooms and the kitchen. We did not need anything much from our host, but I truly felt I could text him at any time if we had needed something.
Our group was my husband and I, our three kids (ages 10, 7, 4), and a grandparent. This house would be comfortable for a much larger multi-generational group than ours, or 2-4 separate families traveling together or for a large group of couples & singles. I would hesitate to recommend to a family traveling with a crawling infant or toddler as the stairs are a bit tricky.
A note on the house's layout: Vancouver homes typically have basements so with this house you take a few steps up a porch to enter on the top/ main floor which has the kitchen, dining room, 2 of the living areas, 3 of the bedrooms, and 2 of the bathrooms. Then the stairs take you down to the lower/ basement floor which has the remaining living area, 3 more bedrooms, a bathroom, and the laundry room. There is an exit from the basement to the exterior.
We would look to stay here again on a future trip to Vancouver.
Many dusk on the floor, even the bed looks clean. The house looks scary for my guests, also for me. Looks like the owner never care about that. My guests are dissapointed with this place even, the picture looks same with the website but the outside made them scary.
The house was beautiful and spacious the pictures don't do it justice. Owner was helpful, there when needed and easy to communicate with and answered all questions thoroughly. Would definitely stay here again!
We were a group of 8 travelling for a weekend in Vancouver and the Canucks game. The home had plenty of space and beds to accommodate our group. There was also room to have more than the 2 cars we brought along and the proximity to downtown made it reasonable to taxi to the game. It was a good price for what we needed.
