ENJOY AUTUMN, THE HOLIDAY'S & SKI SEASON IN LUXURY!
The spacious, COMPLETELY RENOVATED, rustic industrial preserve named "Evermore" is a design collaboration between The Edgewater Design Group, TraceyJordan Colection (TJC) Co-Founders and a team of artisans led by local craftsman Scott Walker. The property was named as a tribute to The TJC founder's great grandfather, Jesse Livermore & the families former Kings Pointe NY estate.
Originally designed with a nod toward a Craftsman style home the team re-imagined the entire scope of this Walloon Lake project when it was discovered that the the new roof was built over the top of the original 1940's structure. Removing the original roof exposed expansive cathedral ceilings & caused the team to completely rethink the architectural style.
The spacious 4800 sqft setting on Walloon Lake in Petoskey, MI now revolves around two enormous stone fireplaces, reaching from the floor through the exposed black beams all the way to the custom wood ceilings.
Rich black & tan cedar siding coupled with stone & extensive landscaping give way to soaring cathedral & picture windows that frame a stunning rustic, industrial interior design that spares nothing when it comes to luxe detail.
Rich with wood, stone, metal & tile, "Evermore" features pampered sleeping quarters for 12 to 14 people surrounding a state of the art kitchen along with the game, living, & dining room.
While equipped with every modern convenience including Viking appliances, high speed internet, six 50-70" 1080p LED smart TV's, Direct TV & more, every effort was made to maintain the charm of a quintessential Northwest Michigan retreat.
Locally sourced, handscraped oak floors, LED Edison lighting, fieldstone fireplaces and original artwork by Louis Jover , Mariana Maia, Terry Redlin & local artists complement the rustic industrial interior.
One of the hallmarks of "Evermore..." is it's attention to the indoors out / outdoors in philosophy. Every window frames a scene and every room has a magnificent view of either Walloon Lake or beautiful natural surroundings.
Outside the luxuries and comfort continue as the striking landscape leads guests across the deck & patio toward the lake. Here you will find the hot tub, sanded beach, dock & natural stone fire pit surrounded by locally made, gliding Adirondack Chairs overlooking the calm waters of Walloon.
Complete with firewood, multiple grills, starter logs, hobo pie makers & more, it's our guess that this is where most will spend their time in the late spring, summer & autumn months.
The seasonal dock at "Evermore" is capable of handling vessels up to 28' & is the perfect location to watch the occasional water skier & boat cruise by. Guests will also find that we have provided Hobie kayaks, paddle boards, a classic fishing boat & much more to ensure lasting memories on one of the worlds most exclusive lakes.
The outdoor adventures don't end there however as "Evermore" also acquired the 57 acre property directly behind the home. With it's five, lake view peaks, rolling hills, and historic apple orchard (which still produces) this natural playground is ideal for those interested in hiking, cross country skiing, Morel Mushroom hunting, wildlife viewing etc.
Entering the foyer, through the front door, reveals the quintessential Walloon Lake scene as you view straight through the property to the lake. An Edison bulb chandelier, custom stone & tile work coupled with the significant, original works of art set the tone for the rest of the home.
Just to your right upon entering they foyer is the largest bedroom in the home. Although it is not technically the master bedroom it has become a favorite of guests for its garden views, reading area, unique stone lamps & rustic / industrial queen sized sleigh bed & night stands. The room receives abundant natural light through it's four windows and is also appointed with a custom closet & dresser.
1000 thread count linens, designer pillows, a plush down comforter plus a 50" 1080p LED smart TV, Direct TV & high speed internet are also featured.
Also to your right upon entering are the stairs to the large "foyer loft" bedroom. Passing the original Mariana Maia work of art, you climb the stairs to find a well equipped & private retreat featuring rustic industrial furnishings, a beautiful, rustic, black wood bed & nightstands.
1000 thread count linens, designer pillows, a plush down comforter plus a 47" 1080p LED smart TV, Direct TV & high speed internet are also featured.
This is often a favorite among our younger guests.
The full sized & newly remodeled bathroom in the foyer features a beautiful, seamless glass shower with pebble floors and custom tile throughout. The black, rustic mirror that sits above the carrera marble vanity in this bathroom was built by a local artisan to compliment the furnishings of the two foyer bedrooms & maintain the rustic industrial personality of the home.
Mud Room / Laundry:
To your left upon entering the foyer from either the front door or garage you will find the large mud/laundry room. Featuring custom tile work, built in lockers, industrial bench seating & a new, full sized, front load washer & dryer this is the ideal location to change out of your winter sports gear or to grab your beach towels for an afternoon lakeside or evening in the hot tub.
The kitchen is the heart of a home and we have found this is no less true on vacation. The Kitchen at "Evermore" is state of the art and aside from it's architectural details features professional Viking appliances, a gas range, an enormous island and high end cabinetry all coordinated / designed by local boutique owner Dawn White of Lake Street Design Studio.
The counters are a creamy white variation of "Chocolate Bordeaux" granite coupled with dark walnut on the distressed hutch opposite the range.
This kitchen was made for for the chef who loves to host & for families who enjoy large HOLIDAY GATHERINGS.
The open concept concept floor plan allows those in the dining room unobstructed views of the kitchen, living & game rooms as well as Walloon Lake. Centered around a rustic but elegant 108" salvaged boatwood table you can comfortably seat 8 while another eight can be seated at the island counter and game room table.
Centered on the floor to ceiling, fieldstone fireplace guests have views of Walloon Lake from both of the custom sofa's. The comfortable living room also features a unique, 100 year old, reclaimed Russian oak coffee table, soaring ceilings, plus a 70" 1080p LED smart TV, Direct TV & high speed internet.
The founders of The TraceyJordan Collection tasked architect Michael Karr & craftsman Scott Walker with creating a lakeside master suite that smartly utilized the available space to create a serene, spa like retreat. We think they over achieved.
The master bathroom features a huge seamless glass shower with multiple shower heads including an overhead rain shower. As with the foyer bathroom the river rock shower floor massages your feet as you enjoy the provided Tommy Bahama, spa toiletries.
Coupled with ample space, the dual sink, Carrera marble vanity & custom mirror, this is the most talked about bathroom in the home.
The sleeping area of the master suite is elegantly furnished with a king sized upholstered bed, rustic industrial furnishings, an electric fireplace capable of warming the room independent of the central climate control systems & original works of art by Loui Jover & others.
Comfort & a peaceful night sleep is essentially guaranteed by the 1000 thread count linens, designer pillows, a plush down comforter all accompanying the Posturepedic Hybrid Elite Plush Mattress.
For those who require a little entertainment prior to falling asleep, the master suite is also equipped with a 50" 1080p LED smart TV, Direct TV & high speed internet.
The suite also features a full sized, custom walk in closet carefully designed to accommodate everything from dresses to sweatshirts to a robust shoe collection.
Perhaps the most endearing feature of the master suite however is the private, four season, sun room accessible through the french doors. Tastefully decorated, the space features two plush chairs with unobstructed views of the Lake. It's a perfect place to enjoy a book and / or morning coffee.
Upstairs Guest Bedroom:
Climbing the unique steel & wood stairwell from the game room, you will find the upstairs guest room immediately to your right. While this may be the smallest of the guest rooms it commands the best views of Walloon Lake. Situated on the second floor, the elegant, queen sized upholstered bed & accompanying rustic industrial furnishings face the large windows offering gorgeous, birds eye views of the lake. The room receives abundant natural light through it's easterly facing windows and is also appointed with a custom closet & original works of art.
As with all bedrooms, 1000 thread count linens, designer pillows, a plush down comforter plus a 47" 1080p LED smart TV, Direct TV & high speed internet are also featured.
It's not just for the kids! Without exception, this is the most talked about bedroom in the house. Although the space was designed for the younger generations with it's dual, steel & wood, built in twin & full bunk beds, built in 12ft long window seat and PS3 gaming system complete with game library, we keep hearing that adults are equally enamored with the space.
This large room can sleep 4-6 in the built in bunk beds and easily 1-2 more in the 12ft long window seat area.
Appointed with playful, woodland creature bedding, custom fitted, memory foam mattresses, local art & all of the electronic creature comforts one could hope for, the bunk room at Evermore is a playful, woodland retreat for all ages.

We are often asked "Why did you choose this property on Walloon Lake?"
The truth is, there were a couple of other homes available around the lake that were already renovated. That said however, we were looking for a property with character & potential. It just had to "feel" right & Evermore was perfect. In need of significant renovation, we took the entire home down to it's studs & re-imagined everything including the foundation & crawl space.

Architecturally, the home was "right sized" and allowed us to go high end in every room. While large enough for family gatherings or small corporate retreats, the home is still quaint and regionally correct in it's architecture & style.

We also wanted to be sure we were on the North Arm of the lake. While the south arm has it's benefits, namely deeper waters & a hard packed natural sand shoreline, it can also get very congested & noisy. By contrast, the North Arm of Walloon Lake provides 10 min access to Petoskey, equal drive times to the region's three ski resorts & your own personal "On Golden Pond."

The waters of the North Arm of Walloon Lake are calm & peaceful. It's a tranquil part of the lake home to some of the area's best fishing , kayaking, paddle boarding & boating. The creek on Evermore's property continues to be a spawning site for smelt & other bait fish. Where the South Arm feels like spring break... the North Arm feels like being in a remote part of Alaska. We think it's the best of both worlds.

The outdoor intrigue didn't end there however as "Evermore" also included the 57 acre property directly behind the home. With it's five, lake view peaks, rolling hills, and historic apple orchard ( which still produces ) this natural playground is ideal for those interested in hiking, cross country skiing, Morel Mushroom hunting, wildlife viewing and more. It only took us one hike through this gorgeous property to make the decision.

Geographically, It's proximity to the city of Petoskey, MI allows us to provide all of the modern conveniences including high speed, business class internet through Charter Communications. We are also situated within 35 minutes of every significant natural adventure this region os Michigan has to offer. From world class ski resorts, the inland waterway to The Headlands Dark Sky Park, you just couldn't be better situated.

Excellent experience, having done many vrbos Tracey was a delight to work with, the home was beautiful and in pristine condition. Convenient location for skiing, pretty much in middle of Boyne Mt and Nobs. Definitely rated a 5 star home. Thanks Tracey.
We do a family trip every August to Petoskey area. This was BY FAR the best house we've ever stayed at. Not one person had a complaint. The yard is great, the beach is wonderful for kids, fire pit is perfect at night. The inside of the house is new, clean and very open. I would 100% recommend this home and we will be hoping to book our trip here again next year!
Three families shared this spacious home on Walloon lake and couldn't have been more pleased with the property and our vacation week. We knew going into the week that there were things provided that other rentals don't normally provide but what surprised us was the quality not just of the amenities but of the entire property.
The home furnishings were high quality; what you would want for your own home. The main living area was both spacious and open so all three families could be near one another without feeling cramped. We had terrific weather but had it been rainy, I have no doubt we would have been comfortable hanging out indoors.
The bedrooms were isolated enough that we did not feel like we were on top of one another. The open living area splits into 4 separate bedroom areas that allowed for a quiet area even while the main living area was being used. This is really the perfect design for multiple families sharing a home.
Also provided were 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards and a vintage row boat. All were of high quality and were used frequently. It really made a difference in our stay. This plus a very nice pier and sandy beach area which the kids enjoyed. This is a very calm area of Walloon which can be rough at times due to its size but this spot on the lake was very peaceful.
The location was also great, just 10 minutes from Petoskey and just a bit further to Boyne and Charlevoix. We spent time in all three plus Walloon Village without having to miss much time from the beautiful home.
The owners were very communicative both before and during our stay. Sure to keep us informed and being helpful without being intrusive. You could just tell that it was really important to them that we enjoyed our stay.
You may find that you will pay a little more to stay here but it is absolutely worth it. We will back!
This property was absolutely beautiful, there was so much to do (paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, boating etc.) we never even left the house although we initially had several day trips planned to local destinations. The house was very high quality and we had easy access to Tracey, any question we had the owners were highly responsive to and got back to us promptly! Loved this house and vacation - definitely would stay again!
Wow! What a great time for all! Our yearly vacation to Walloon was extra special this year because of this awesome house! (and the weather was great!) There was something to do for everyone, including paddle boards, a game of pool, fire pit, and a great kitchen to cook in. We were in a great location for walking, going to the grocery and sight seeing. Thanks for a great summer vacation!
Our entire family (9 plus 5 children) enjoyed a wonderful week at Evermore on Lake Walloon. We can't stop talking about how we enjoyed ourselves. The house and property had everything you could have wanted. We all took turns enjoying the boating, kayaking, paddle-boarding, campfire, and swimming. The house was spacious, had quiet bedrooms and a great family room. Easy access to Petoskey for our shopping needs. We enjoyed the beachfront which had packed sand for easy footing. Nice "sandbox" for the kids to play in. The property manager was very responsive, couldn't have made us feel more at home. I would recommend this experience to anyone, whether you are a small or large group. If you want a stress free, wonderful time, this is the place!!
Forbes refers to the region as the "Hamptons of Michigan". National Geographic & USA Today have named it “The most beautiful place in America” & international attention has exploded with the opening of only the 9th International Dark Sky Park in the world. To say the region offers it’s guest’s unparalleled beauty and adventure is to put it far too simply.
Walloon Lake & the surrounding area including Petoskey offer unique four season adventures & scenery.
Petoskey is located on the shores of Lake Michigan's beautiful Little Traverse Bay in northwest lower Michigan. Long a resort area, Petoskey is known for its fresh air, spectacular beauty and, of course, Michigan's state stone, the Petoskey Stone.
This 6,000 person community nestled on the shores of Lake Michigan's Little Traverse Bay is a destination for visitors because it has so much to offer.
Charm? You bet! Petoskey's Gaslight District is the place to shop, walk, dine, and enjoy. Walk through the pedestrian tunnel to the beautiful waterfront park where you can watch the boats come into the marina or visit the Little Traverse History Museum.
And that is just in the summer. Petoskey is a four-seasons community packed with things to do. From beautiful fall foliage, to morel mushrooms in the spring, to the top three ski resorts in the Midwest including over 450 miles of state maintained snowmobile trails, we have it all. Winter activities are truly spectacular in the Petoskey area.
Located on the North Shore of Walloon Lake, Windemere was the childhood summer home of Ernest Hemingway. The house is still owned by the Hemingway family, and is home to one of Hemingway's nephews.
Here is a small sample of what others have to say about the region:
"The Ice Age was kind to northern Michigan, leaving in its wake an undulating landscape pocked by thousands of deep lakes carved by receding glaciers. Few, though, are as striking as Walloon Lake. Soil rich in calcium carbonate and clay, known as marl, casts the water a cerulean blue that would conjure the Caribbean were it not for the cedars, birches, and aspens that frame the nearly 30-mile shoreline. Its odd, paint-splat shape ensures that no view is the same; even longtime cottagers marvel at the difference in perspective from just a few doors down."
~ Margaret Loftus : National Geographic
“The Inland Waterway is not only one of Northern Michigan’s greatest attractions, but it is one of the most picturesque, and the only boat trip of its kind to be found on the American continent. Go where you will, wander where you may, you will find nothing that surpasses the scenic grandeur of this chain of lakes and rivers”
–”Where to Spend the Summer,” Conde’ Naste
"...The Headlands Dark Sky Park in Michigan is one of the best stargazing destinations in the United States... & "one of the few places in the continental USA to view the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights)."
