The only thing that could lure us away from touring Paris was a wonderful refuge in our St. Martin Canal apartment!
This apartment is like a film set version of a Paris apartment, I can't wait to stay here again!
Light-filled and stylishly decorated the apartment overlooks the lively St. Martin canal, and there is an excellent café/restaurant literally downstairs. There was plenty of room for our family of four and would still be very comfortable for groups of five. It is very close to the République metro hub, making getting around the city a breeze. Our hostess was very accommodating, and the apartment well stocked with amenities. Great choice for your stay in Paris.
My family of 6 (including 3 teens and a grandma) had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful apartment in early June. Upon our arrival, Helene met us and showed us around the apartment, giving us all the info we needed during our stay. She even had fresh pastries and a bottle of champagne chilled for us.
The apartment is exactly as shown in the photos--beautifully decorated, clean and well-cared for. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked. Paris was our 3rd and final stop and it was great to have so much space to spread out in. We were initially a little worried about the neighborhood--street view on google shows a lot of graffiti--but we felt safe. It's a bustling area, full of students and young families, and there is a bit of noise, but nothing too bothersome. One of the reasons we like to rent apartments vs. hotel rooms is to experience neighborhood life. There are tons of restaurants and one of Paris's best bakeries (du Pain et des Idees) is nearby.
We walked everyday to the Republique station (about a 5 minute walk from the apartment) which got us easily around town. Every evening we came "home", stopping on the way for fresh baguettes and wine for dinner. We had a wonderful time being Paris residents for a week!
Helene's home is beautiful and she was/is very hospitable and kind to us! Loved the neighborhood, recommendations and pretty seasonal decorations. We were very comfortable in the apartment and so appreciated all the little touches. Thanks so much!
The owner is delightful and quite helpful. We loved the apartment. Lovely living room overlooking the Canal. Even though it was off the beaten track, we were close to Place de la Reublique. We could walk to the Marais. The neighborhood had great restaurants and shopping. Carrefours -- a French Costco is a few blocks away. Monoprix -- a French Target is at the Place de la Republique. Also, the best boulangerie is around the corner. Did I mention cool clothing stores are around the corner.
We enjoyed this lovely apartment overlooking St Martin Canal. It was a perfect location to enjoy all the sights of Paris. The Large bright main room was perfect for relaxing and the kitchen well appointed and perfect to cook all the wonderful products from the local markets. There are wonderful restauranst within walking distance- we especially enjoyed Philou.
Helene was most helpful with the booking and her daughter was most helpful on arrival.
We loved our stay in Paris and the apartment was perfect in every way
