Great Accommodation in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Well maintained property located close to Union Station and vibrant H Street. Everything you need for a DC stay. Many extras provided such as a complimentary bottle of wine , beer , and bottled water. Kitchen was more than adequate for preparing meals and there was a grocery store within easy walking distance. There were ample linens and a wide selections of books and CDs. The VRBO was perfect for our group of adults however it would be a challenge with very young children

Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous location, comfortable well-equipped home. We loved it! We were able to walk to the mall each day and get around easily. We traveled with our two sons, 12 and 16 and found the arrangements comfortable. One son is 6'6" so he had to watch his head on the stairs and avoid a very pointy art piece over the dining room doors -- but we kept one door closed and he was safe. We were caught in the rain one day and found an extra umbrella in the logical place. The only surprises were positive treats (butter! beer! helpful books about the area!)

Great stay.

  • 4 of 5

The house was very convenient for us and we enjoyed our stay.

The upstairs was uncomfortably warm on the evening we arrived, when the daytime outside high had been in the 80s. The AC system couldn't keep up, but we were fortunate that the weather cooled off the next day and was generally pleasant for the rest of our time in DC.

Everything else about the house worked out extremely well for us.

Owner's Response: It's unfortunate and unnecessary to have been uncomfortable, as this is the first we've been made aware of the issue. The 2 year old central AC is governed by a programmable thermostat which we have set to 80 during the day when most people are out and then dropping to 74 during evening and early mornings. The welcome letter does explain to adjust/override the AC to whatever setting the guests would like, and of course, we are available by phone should someone need additional assistance. This scenario could have been easily remedied by a call as we would have happily assisted.

LOVELY LOCATION

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay. One block from Union Station. One block from grocery store. Very busy street but still quiet. The house itself is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. Wished there was a television downstairs in the living area and parking was an issue at times, however I would highly recommend staying at this home.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our family recently traveled to Washington DC in early March 2017 and stayed one week at this row house. This 2-bedroom/2.5-bath house was perfect for our family of five! Being a mom of three boys it was essential that the boys had their own bathroom to share, in addition to having the extra living area to wind down at the end of the day. Our twins (ages 11) slept on the sleeper sofa in the upstairs living area while our 16-year old had his own bedroom towards the rear of the house. The master bedroom/bath is located towards the front of the house. The beds were all quite comfortable. The house was nicely kept, very clean, and well stocked - high-quality towels; nice and clean bed linens; plenty of dishes and cookware; and various extras such as laundry soap, dish detergent, toilet paper, trash bags, cooking condiments (salt, pepper, non-stick spray, butter) and some waters/beers/wine in the fridge too.

The house location could not have been more perfect. The house is an approximate 7-10 minute walk from Union Station, which we walked to every day to catch the Metro (red line) and DC Circulator bus (red route to National Mall). We did not have a car and relied on public transportation and walking (although a parking pass is offered). We loved the fact that there was a Giant (brand name) grocery store located one block away. We ate breakfast every morning at the house and some evening meals. Due to the age of our children, we had more success finding restaurants to accommodate our family at Union Station and also near Galley Place/Chinatown Metro station.

The information provided by the property owners in the home description (on the website and in the HomeAway app) was all accurately represented and quite useful. We would definitely stay here again!!

Good space in local neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

Apartment was good size for our family of 5 and well stocked. It's in a great neighborhood about a mile from the mall. Close to stores, restaurants and Union Station. Parking on street was easy once we figured out visitor pass only good on one side of street. Mark was responsive before and during our stay.
