Loved our Stay - What a Lovely Heritage Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This place was fantastic. A lovely cozy getaway. The proprietors were a pleasure to deal with. Would 100% stay again.

Adequate

  • 3 of 5

Liked the antique interior but a lot of little things needing repair and needs a good cleaning - fans, lights, baseboards, etc

Location and convenience excellent - a bit over priced for what you get.

Poorly represented in advertisement

  • 1 of 5

We have stayed in many vacation rentals by owners in Canada, the U.K., Italy, Prague, etc and this was the worst experience to date. From the moment we drove up to the home, it was clear that we had made a poor choice in the selection. The yard was overgrown and contained urns and window boxes with faded plastic flowers. The walk to the front door looked like it could be abandoned. The inside of the home did have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths as advertised, but one of the bathrooms had a shower door that would not close tightly which meant that there was water damage in there. The living area was very small and the two seating options included a very old and faded love seat and a metal frames college dorm looking leopard print sofa with furry pillows. The lighting was poor throughout the house and the wiring was very scary. I will say the bed in the front bedroom was very comfortable. The kitchen was adequate for our needs ( making coffee in the am and storing some drinks in the refrigerator. The location was also good for getting around on foot. I would not recommend this cottage and would not stay there again...

Cozy comfortable cottage

  • 3 of 5

This cottage was very comfortable with air conditioning. One bedroom had a king sized bed with good mattress and the other had a Daphne's also comfortable. The garden out back was very private and was a pleasant place to sit. The furnishings and decor are somewhat tired and fussy. But one can ignore that. The checkin process was complicated and difficult. the person wanted everything done by phone and spent way too much time extolling the virtues of the cottages decor and gardens. Both of which were unremarkable. It would be better and less invasive of privacy to contact renters by email. But the cottage itself though tired was fine and we had a very pleasant stay
