Was a good house with nice outdoor amenities like a fire pit, some fishing gear, and beautiful views of a private lake. Around 30-45 minutes outside of Chattanooga and within driving distance of some good hikes within national parks. Stayed with 2 families, bunk beds were perfect for kids and easily slept two sets of parents. Owner called ahead of time and made sure we felt welcome and house was decently stocked with stuff a traveler would need, firewood, etc. Only drawback was lack of wi-fi and the water was kind of bad smelling with lack of a bath for the kids. But we'd stay here again and think it was good for families looking for a good outpost to go in and out of Chattanooga.
Our group of 11, stayed here for a family vacation following the Christmas holiday. It was everything we had hoped. Secluded, room to play outdoors, close enough to Chattanooga for time spent Downtown, and so much more. The rooms provided enough space for privacy if needed, but the cozy home helped keep everyone together for quality family time. As noted in the previous review, the owner Bob was terrific. He made certain we knew where to fish, where the best outdoor hiking was, ensured we had wood for bonfires and suggested local activities for the family. A fun surprise was the lake resident who our children named Honkers. A Muscovy Duck who will great you at the dock and is happy to take walks with you if invited. This was a fun and relaxing getaway our family will remember for years to come.
Our group of 9 had a wondeful Thanksgiving weekend in this adorable cabin. The cabin had a rustic feel but with all the necessary modern amenities. Plenty of space for all of us to sleep comfortably. The lake was an amazing bonus. We did a lot of fishing and caught enough catfish to feed our whole group dinner. Also loved the fire pit situated next to the lake with views of the stars up above. S'mores were yummy. The property felt remote, but it was just a few minute drive to the town of Lafayette for groceries, shopping, restaraunts. And Chattanooga is not far either. Easy drive to all the Chattanooga tourist spots. The owner, Bob, was very easy to work with and very accommodating. He went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Even offering his fishing secrets. We hope to visit this property again soon.
