Comfy and cozy best describes this getaway cottage. Nice covered porch to sit and watch the wildlife on the pond rain or shine, or sit on the dock to get a better view, outdoor fire pit, picnic table, gas grill for barbecuing, two lake kayaks for your use. Nothing like getting out on the water!

Warm cozy cabin nestled in the woods of Maine close to Bangor and equipped with all the modern conveniences.
The cabin was on a quiet piece of property with everything we needed. It was clean comfortable and just lovely. we had a few people out and grilled while we enjoyed relaxing in the peaceful environment. A kayak was easily put in the water and I spent over an hour exploring the vast pond. Lots of birds and beautiful sunny sets topped it off. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing mellow vacation.
We were heading up to the area to visit our son at UMaine for parents weekend. We had a late in the game decision to bring our dogs up with us so they could visit as well.
I inquired about the property on Thursday, the day before our arrival. The owners were very quick with their responses and we were able to get all of our questions about the dogs sorted out quickly. We were a little stressed out to say the least about finding a place (let alone a good place) with such short notice. Thanks to the responsiveness of the owners, I was able to book the house quickly and come home from work a hero to my wife.
The location of the house turned out to be perfect for us. It was not too far of a drive off the highway and in close proximity to Orono and Bangor.
The house was clean with all of the amenities we could need. The size was perfect for our needs, my wife and I stayed in the bedroom on the main floor and my son slept in the bed up in the loft.
Although a little chilly for activity in the water, the pond served as a perfect background for our stay. The covered porch was a great place to relax and take in the scenery, the sunrise over the pond in the morning and the moon reflecting on the water at night were stunning. I even saw a bald eagle make a very close fly by carrying sticks for its nearby nest.
We look forward to visiting again soon!
The cottage is brand new, all the appliances are new as well. The bed is super comfortable and there is a washer and drier. It is right on the water and has no shortage of wildlife to watch from the deck. There are two bald eagles who have a nest on the pond just around the corner from the cottage, so I got to see them often which was amazing! There are two streams that feed into the pond at each end that also were fun to kayak and see more wildlife. Jeff is a great landlord, he is helpful and friendly. Very responsive to all of my concerns, he was only a text/phone call away at any time. The only two things I would change about this place would be that I wish there was more hot water and internet. The water tank is small and I ran out of hot water after a few minutes in the shower, which was not enough time to get everything that I needed done in there. I got a system down after a while but it was a bit of an inconvenience. There are two tv's in the cottage and a handful of basic cable channels which was fine because I didn't watch much tv anyway, but not having internet was difficult. The local cable company would need to build the poles to run the wire down to the cottage on and that was simply too expensive and time consuming for it to be of any use to me for this short stay. I went to a coffee shop to pay bills and use the internet. Overall this place was wonderful, Maine is a beautiful state indeed. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to anyone!
