Bay Indies Review

We stayed at the Orinoco property for four nights. The home was well stocked with everything we needed. Very nicely furnished throughout. We got the keys easily. Free washer and dryer with detergent was a great benefit. Bay Indies has beautiful pools and a great walking path we walked on everyday. Our stay couldn't have been more perfect! Will definitely be back. Thank you Michael! Judy

This was not "Your Slice Of Heaven" and we had a very disappointing experience.

We have family and friends in this mobile home park and the amenities for this rental included a golf cart, outdoor grill and kayak/canoe. It appeared to be a perfect fit .... WRONG!!! Upon arrival, we discovered there was no golf cart, or outdoor grill or kayak/canoe. However, we could live without those items. It was during our 3 week stay that we encountered the following NEGATIVE ISSUES which ruined what we thought would be a relaxing and care free vacation:

-M/B had extensive mold in shower, toilet seat broken and a super glue attempt to attach it to bowl had failed.

-L/R, D/R and M/B had very filthy carpet. We filled the canister vac in removing dirt, fuzz and white dog hairs.

-Entrance door would not open without forcing it with a shoulder. (Had a broken lock & was a safety issue).

-Kitchen and G/B sinks leaking water onto floor. Ruined toilet paper stored in guest bathroom.

-The Mobile Home Park taped a "Demand For Payment Of Lot Rent Due" to this property's door during the middle of our stay. It stated that if the rent was not paid within five days the rental agreement is terminated and the premises must be vacated.

-Discovered bed bugs in M/B queen bed a couple of days before our scheduled departure. We had noticed red rashes and itching for a few days before finding live bugs. Took pictures.

- Moved out two days early due to bugs and requested the property owner compensate us for this terrible experience. The property owner stated in writing that he would reimburse us $300, BUT I had to submit a four star or better review before doing so. This, I have refused to do. There has been no compensation forthcoming.

Owner claims to have spent $400 after we left to rectify the issues that we encountered. This statement alone is testimony as to the poor condition of the property.

Owner's Response: The issues with this traveler started before he even arrived. The traveler arrived at the property 5 hours before check in. He made our cleaning crew very uncomfortable. They called twice asking if they should just let him in early. The following day, the traveler called me to complain about cleaning issues. I told him that I would be happy to take care of it and that my cleaning crew would be back over to redo anything that he was unhappy with. He declined and said he did not want to be bothered. The traveler contacted me about a week later complaining about additional alleged issues. Again, I told him that I would get our Handy-man over to the home immediately to take care of anything he was unhappy with. He again refused but wanted us to come to the home. I called our cleaning crew to ask if they noticed any of the things that he was complaining about. They had not. Nothing was mentioned by previous renters either. Although the home is a hour drive, we came down to address any issues that he was having. Upon arrival, we looked at the things that the traveler claimed were an issue. He was told that we would fix whatever he was unhappy with. He tried to refuse again but we insisted. He started making demands about getting money back including the cleaning fee, Pet fee, and additional funds. There was a verbal agreement that we would refund money, but he had to agree that after the refund he would leave a positive review. He could say whatever he wanted about the home, but leave a positive review that we did everything we could as the homeowner to make him happy and address his alleged issues. On a separate note, while at the home we found out that the traveler opened up personal mail that was addressed to the HOMEOWNER. This was VERY upsetting and we let him know as much. About a week later, we received an email that they left the home early due to alleged bed bugs. There was NEVER any evidence to this claim. I would not recommend this traveler. It was an issue from the beginning to the end. It continued back and forth with him threatening to leave this bad review if he did not get his desired amount of money. Please take note to the fact that we had a traveler arrive at the home about a week later and left a 5 star review. They did not have ANY of the alleged issues that this traveler did. We take the comfort of our guests very seriously and feel that it shows from all the other positive reviews that we have received.

Great space and helpful when we needed last minute stay

We were dodging a hurricane on the other side of Florida and joining the masses looking for a last minute space. I contacted these guys and got prompt, polite, very helpful service. The house was a great place for us to spend an extended weekend away from the storm and enjoying the local flavor. Will definitely look at them again next time we are in town!

Great customer service!!

I had to cancel my reservation due to Hurricane Matthew causing travel problems. I was given a full refund with not problems at all. I will be renting from this owner in the future. Excellent customer service.
