Overlooking Lake Monroe stands Soaring Eagle. Just 50 feet from the water line of the backwaters of the lake Soaring Eagle is a relaxing and romantic place to be. The view of the lake from the deck or hot tub is extraordinary year round. The quietness of the remote location is striking and will leave you wanting to stay "just a few more days". This pet friendly (1 house trained dog) home features a master bedroom with a king bed, a queen Murphy bed in the game room, 1 1/2 baths, full kitchen and a 4 person hot tub. The gas fireplace in the living room makes for a romantic and relaxing experience. Step outside onto the deck for a breath taking view or move down to the fire pit for a little bonding time. Move a little further down the shore and wet a line hoping to hook the "big one". The 42" flat panel TV in the living room features a wide array of Direct TV channels. Likewise there is another TV in the lower level game room along with a pool table and a sun room overlooking the lake. We provide all bed linens, towels, cooking utensils and appliances. This is a very private location yet convenient to either Nashville or Bloomington.

Many of these issues also relate to what Moon Dance Advertised.
My husband and I rented Soaring Eagle Cabin from 9/22/13-9/28/13. There were many problems:
-No working Fireplace
-No Landline (important because of no cell service)
-Electricty not working in portion of cabin
-No Disk TV (only ads)
-We were locked out of the cabin on Wednesday afternoon
We had to drive several miles for a location to call Moon Dance to report these problems and several miles back to the cabin.
In addition there were these problems:
-The bed sheets were stained
-The cabin had a foul smell
-The bath towels were ratty and worn
-The window sills were full of dead insects
-The hot tub cover handle was broken
-The chair in the sun room was broken
-The fire pit had no chairs around it -- we told we could haul chairs from the deck down there -- this was not feasible because the chairs were too heavy.
Mid-Monday afternoon, we a maintenance man came -- fixing the fireplace, electricity and hot tub cover. Of course taking time from our paid vacation.
A phone man came Tuesday morning - again taking time form our vacation. And late Tuesday the TV worked.
After many phone calls - again driving to and from the cabin on Wednesday, a staff member changed the batteries in the door lock and we were able to get in.
Very POOR Customer Service.
We stayed at the Soaring Eagle while my daughter was at IU's soccer camp. We were very pleased with the cabin. The first thing you realize is just how secluded you are. The road to the cabin is about 7 miles on gravel road through the forest. Once at the cabin, we were extremely pleased with how clean the cabin is kept.
The lower level has a great pool table (which we made much use of), a queen-sized Murphy bed, and a half bath. Off this level is a sunroom where we played cards when it was raining and the deck with the hot tub (which was also a pleasant adventure). There is a TV in this level; however, we were never able to have it connect to the satellite.
The upper level has a great deck, a nice living room, a small, functional kitchen, a full bath, and a king bedroom. Again, the decor of the house was charming and you can tell it was well taken care of.
The owner/manager was always available when we had questions and was very responsive in issuing a refund when we were no longer bringing our dog with us.
The area outside the cabin was very natural and the driveway very steep. It may be a challenge for a larger vehicle without front wheel drive. We saw several wild turkeys on the property, which was a nice surprise.
As for fishing, it was too hot when we where there to fish for any length of time. We didn't bring any lawn chairs and didn't see any on the property, so you had to stand if you were fishing. The lake seemed fairly shallow by the cabin and not one where swimming would be an option.
The only drawback for us (this might be a plus for others) is that it took 45 minutes to get to Bloomington or Nashville, even though it was only about 17 minutes away. This was a bit far to run out for ice cream at night. You are definitely secluded at the cabin. You cannot even see the neighbors through the forest.
For a romantic getaway, this is perfect.
Tour the campus at IU and see the many museums and Assembly Hall where you can see a basketball or football game.
