It was a nice home set back in the woods with a lot of privacy and near the vinyards

  • 4 of 5

The home was nicely decorated with 3 bedrooms and a small area with an extra bed. This was perfect for our needs as it had two living rooms and enough space for everyone. The backyard was small but had a small grill and fire pit. The home had everything needed for a small trip; extra blankets, wine glasses, frying pan ext.

It was a 20 min walk to the beach or a five minute drive. It was also near the vineyards (2 blocks from 2). We would return for another weekend.

Spacious, relaxing and close to everything.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at the cottage for a childhood friends wedding. The house comfortably fit myself, wife and two kids in the master, my parents in one of the bedrooms and my best friend and his wife in another.

I loved that there were two living rooms which helped when the baby was sleeping in one area or another. I actually ended up sleeping on the bed in one of the living areas most nights so I didn't wake the kids in the bedroom, which made my wife very happy.

The location couldn't be better. It's just a short drive to Berrien Rd beach with soft sand and a nice little sand bar about 100 ft in. Also have the Round Barn winery a short distance away as well as downtown Union Pier.

One last hidden gem, the New Buffalo Township Hall playground. My son had so much fun with the play area and splash pad, all less than 5 minutes away.

Net take: Awesome place, great location, and just a really fun part of MI.

Comfortable and Clean

  • 3 of 5

Seven family members enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, spacious, and clean home nestled in a quiet, wooded area of Union Pier. The rooms were spacious and had all the comforts of home including towels, dish soap, tea/coffee, toilet paper, paper towels and kitchen dishware, etc. Several of us noticed the noisy air conditioner in the laundry room that ran constantly. There were a few odd craftsmanship details we noticed like missing gout in the kitchen backsplash tile, crooked kitchen cabinet, unfinished wood on mantle which asthetically made a noticeable difference. The master bedroom could use a few more pillows. The home was as pictured online. We received our full security deposit back right away the day after we got home. Overall, it is a nice place to stay and would recommend. We love the area.

Very Nice!

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice rental. We had a Girl Trip and were very happy with the accommodations. There were plenty of places to sleep and to gather. We didn't get to use the firepit, but it is located in the backyard with plenty of privacy. The grounds are very pretty with blooming flowers all around. It is located very close to beaches, restaurants, and wineries. We loved the location and the area. The only suggestion I would have for the owners would be to get box springs for both of the twin beds. The beds are not very comfortable to sleep in. They are very hard. Otherwise everything was great.

Quick weekend away in Union Pier

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Kessler Cottage was great! Beata was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The home was very clean and was well stocked with items for guests. There were just two couples on our trip this year and we essentially each got our own "wing" to the house. The only downside is the distance to the beach, especially at night since you have to cross a major road. We of course knew that going in, just something to be conscious of. We ended up driving to the beach one of the times which worked out great. The cottage is also within short walking distance of the Red Arrow Roadhouse and the Round Barn tasting room on Union Pier Road. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at the Kessler Cottage!

Quiet location with easy access to major roads

  • 4 of 5

This house worked out great for a girls getaway for 6 of us. We were very comfortable in the small ranch house. It was well laid out with two separate living areas and a master bed/bath on one end and two other bedrooms with a shared bath on the other. There was also an extra bed in one living space that allowed us to spread out more than expected. We spent most of our time at New Buffalo beach and surrounding area which was about a 15 minute drive. We also checked out Gordon Beach which had public access just about a mile away from the home.

Pros: Kitchen was stocked pretty well (we made the pots, pans and utensils that were available work for the three meals we cooked in house). There were plenty of towels and toiletries in stock. Although the damage deposit was rather high, we received the refund within 4 days of check out, which was great!

Cons: Unfortunately there was a dead skunk under the front porch that the owner was unable to take care of until we left. We did not realize how close we would be to the the neighbors and although the private backyard/fire pit were nice options, the proximity to the woods made the bugs pretty bad at the time we stayed there.

Overall, we were happy with our stay. We appreciated the owner accommodating a two night stay unlike most rentals available during the summer months.
