Beautiful views from a lovely small house
The house was lovely to stay in. I liked that the living room is set up so one can see the views when seated. The view windows were very clean except for a few small recent bird poops. A couple of birds hit the windows while we were there, thinking they could fly through.
The tidal river in front was interesting to watch as it changed with the tides. As for checking in, we stopped by earlier in the day to ask the house cleaner how this would work and she told us the code for the door key. We had some difficulty getting the bathroom key code to work at first, but called for help and resolved it right away.
Beautiful location and view of the beach!
We enjoyed the storm, watching the waves roll in. The sun shine was icing on the cake, beautiful place to have a cup of coffee.
Everything is amazing! The house, the view, the soaker tub and the sky goes on forever!
Def honeymoon haven. The sunrises and sunsets as well as the night sky are truly spectacular in that living room. Can’t wait to go back!
Going to Haida Gwaii has always been on my list of places to visit. The entire trip was fantastic including our stay in this unique home. We were completely off the grid which was exactly what we wanted: no internet, t.v., and phone. Danny has done a fantastic job at designing his home through to construction... it is truly great. The loft bedroom ceiling is a bit low, so watch your head! The only thing missing were closets, however there were lots of hooks by the door and that is where we hung all our stuff. I would go back to Haida Gwaii in a second and would not want to stay anywhere else. A nice touch was the gift of wine and smoked salmon when we arrived! Thank you!
Awesome as always
Piece of heaven on stilts
Nika and Danny have done an amazing job creating such a special place to drop out of life. Highwater House wiggles and creaks just a bit in a heavy wind making it feel like one is really and truly in the forest (which you are) yet you look out over the Pacific by way of views from every side. We walked the beaches, forest, visited ancient village sites, made delicious dinners in their fully equipped kitchen. We LOVED it!
