Round Lake is three miles by seven miles wide and around 90 feet deep. Water visibility is high, as the lake is fed from springs from adjacent Algonquin Park. One of the finest fishing lakes in The Ottawa Valley and by most standards the largest and most popular lake in a 60 mile radius. Round Lake was stocked with lake trout in the fall of 2012. Killaloe is the nearest town, eight miles away, and provides a bank, LCBO, grocery store, restaurant and chipstand.
You are about 3000 feet from Foy Provincial Park which has the nicest sand beach on the lake. It is no charge to enter the park and use the beach and hiking trails, as no camping or overnight is allowed. Wolf Ridge Golf Course is a 18 hole course within a 15 minute drive from the Cottage.
During the Winter you have access to hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails from your doorstep, as well as ice fishing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
The list of things to do in the area is, frankly, amazing. There is a place where you can get away, but still absorb the Canadian experience. See our other cottage property on Round Lake from the link at the end of the listing.
If you are looking for a place to get away with the family or your significant other, your senses will be satisfied.

My husband is from Texas and I am from Ottawa. We have two boys 13 and 16. We have two homes on Round Lake. We love to travel with our boys and discover new places. Round Lake is our sanctuary and we enjoy the wonderful sunsets and views from the great room. We look forward to spending our evenings around the firepit making smores, telling stories and singing camp songs. We hope you can create some family memories of your own at our cottage.
Nancy Gavin purchased this cottage in 2003
I grew up spending my summers on Round Lake. My parents retired here and most of my siblings have bought property here as well. We love the community, it is a very eclectic area. Lot of music, art and local talent. Festivals, farmers markets and fishing derbys. People here are friendly with a strong sense of community. We have recently moved to Pembroke and have made our home on Round Lake available year round. We can offer all kinds of suggestions for outings in the area as well as leave a fully stocked binder of brochures and maps for you to plan your week. (or just stay on the deck and enjoy the lake and sunsets)
The lake is always changing. Some days it is calm, others a wind comes up and the waves can be like the ocean. I find that we have very few bugs as we are on the windy side of the lake. With South West exposure you can enjoy the sun most of the day and watch the sunset in the evening. The deck is very private and this lake has very few boats so it is quiet. I enjoy a morning walk to Foy Provincial Park with my dog. I walk down the beach and through the hiking trail. (about 1.5 miles round trip). The park is closed so usually it is empty in the mornings. It is a magical place. Our kids are happy to share their movies, games, books and toys with your children. We leave the cottage stocked with books, games, magazines and movies for your enjoyment.
Nancy was very helpful with clear instructions. The cottage was beautiful, with a well equipped kitchen, and gorgeous surroundings. I brought my work colleagues up here for couple of days outside of the city, and we were very happy with the experience. Wonderful place, highly recommend it!
We visited over Xmas holidays. The cottage is very comfortable with a great kitchen and two separate living areas. There was lots of snow and it had a beautiful view of the lake. We visited the local parks and Algonquin and there was lots of winter activities to enjoy. Nancy is very helpful and provides lots of great info on the area.
We stayed at this cottage for 4 days after Thanksgiving to enjoy the fall colour. Very comfortable cottage with good sleeping and plenty of bathrooms. View was wonderful and it was nice to have a real wood fireplace for chilly mornings. Clean, quiet and peaceful. It has everything you would ever need.
Thanks to Nancy for making it all easy.
Beautiful property on round lake. The cottage has gorgeous views from what seems like every room. Exactly as advertised, you won't be disappointed!
Nancy was quick to reply, and made everything a breeze for checking in and out. A++
It was not our first experience of vacation in a cottage but it is definitely the best one. The cottage is very roomy with lots of space for everybody. It gives you comfort of home, everything you might need is there including a dishwasher (which I appreciated a lot), books, games, TV sets, etc. You may not have time to watch TV though because the view is simply breathtaking, the whole Round lake is in front of you and looks beautiful at any time of the day. Starwatching is amazing and we even saw a Aurora Borealis one night.
We highly recommend it. And already planning to go there again next year.
This was our third summer on Round Lake, and we had another stellar vacation. The weather was superb - so much so, that we didn't even get a chance to dig into the jigsaw puzzles we brought!!
We were charmed by the regular visits by Mama Duck and her six ducklings (which were pretty well adult sized!) and by the chipmunks and hummingbirds.
The tranquility of the area is perfect for relaxing and we took full advantage of that!
This year, we rented the kayaks and managed to get out for a paddle most mornings, so we explored the shoreline and the nearby islands.
We highly recommend this property, as it has the rustic charm of a cottage from the outside, and all the amenities (and comfort) of a home inside (air conditioning, dishwasher, etc.).
Thank you for helping us make some more Treasured Summer Memories!!
A beautiful updated, clean and well-kept cottage on the lake front. Fully stocked kitchen, no need to bring appliances or tools of any kind. Nicely decorated and maintained. A glass shower and jacuzzi tub where a nice surprise. The deck faces the lake and has a beautiful view all day and evening.
We wold have stayed for a week if we could have and known it was going to be so nice.
Nancy was very helpful and answered any questions promptly.
If anyone is looking for a relaxing getaway and still wants the amenities of home, contact Nancy right away! This cottage will not disappoint.
