Stunning!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this really nice home. It was clean. Beds were big & comfy.

Lots of outside sitting area. Nicest pool we have ever had and loved the waterfall. As someone else commented you get used to the sound of the traffic! Nice watching the lights at night time.

Very central house. 5 mins to Hollywood where there's a big multi-storey car park. Warner bros only about 15 mins away. Universal 10 mins. We found "Ralph's" a great place to shop in. Driving around LA on the freeway was a bit nerve wracking!! Lots of lanes & traffic.

We really enjoyed our down time in this sunny home.

Poor Customer Service

  • 2 of 5

Agree with the comments about noise. Price of great location is the constant noise from traffic when you are outside. Also agree about the house being ‘beaten up from renting out so often’ – the cushions outside are moldy, torn, dirty. We chose this house carefully for an extended stay both business and pleasure (bringing our daughter out for college). The house was nice but it would have been better if it had been set-up before we arrived. While nothing is ever perfect, it was unfortunate that the property manager treated us with such hostility and rudeness. Rather than directing her exasperation at us, it would have been better directed at ensuring the house was in working order. We don’t consider ourselves a very demanding family of three so when Mary returned our questions with such hostility, it was really quite disturbing. We rent houses all the time and have never had this type of interaction with a property manager or owner. In fact, we went from LA to Palm Desert and had a completely different – and wonderful – experience. We have never posted a negative review and initially were going to send our comments privately to the owner. However, once we noted that the name of the person who wrote the last (positive) review coincidentally shares the same name as the owner of the house (everything in the house is marked Mark H), we thought it would be helpful to post for all. The manager was initially understanding of our frustration at the outside space not being cleaned (offered to send a cleaning crew) but became increasingly hostile: first, she would deny we had an issue, then insinuate it was because we were unable to solve the problem. Starting with the music system that did not work because it needed an update for which the owner’s (Mark H) private password was required…but Mary insisted was ‘impossible’. Then she sent her assistant Nick (very friendly) who, with my husband, spent the better half of the afternoon fixing the sound system (which, indeed, did need a special password) and the Roku system that was not set up (we used our own cable to get it working). Unfortunate as it was the last day before we dropped our daughter and we would have preferred to spend it together. The propane tank seemed empty but Mary denied that fact and ‘guaranteed’ it was full. Mid-grilling both tanks were empty. She told us ‘this is no Peninsula Hotel’ and, if we were not happy, we should depart and money refunded. Not a happy experience.

LOVE this house!

  • 5 of 5

We (a family of 5 from New Jersey) rented this house in July 2017 for 10 days and we can't wait to come back and rent it again. The house is beautiful - the 3 bedrooms are stunning, beds are comfortable. Everything in the kitchen works perfectly well. We used the outdoor grill many times. The pool is fantastic. As we are from the Northeast, we thought the pool felt quite warm unheated, but TBH it was a little too cold to swim at night when the temperatures dipped, so if that is important, then arrange through Mary to have the pool heated for your stay. The location is 5 minutes from Universal, 5 minutes from the Hollywood Bowl, a bit longer to West Hollywood. It is a few minutes drive off Highway 101, so it is convenient if like us you are there to see the sights and want to be relatively centrally located. Mary was great and her assistant was very nice and helpful. As stated earlier, we can't wait to come back to LA and rent this house again! Cheers!

Great home and location

We enjoyed the proximity to Hollywood and Burbank. View was great. Pool and backyard was perfect. Beautiful at night. You can hear the highway but you get used to it quickly.
