About Merrie

Our names are Darrel & Merrie, we met in Williams in 1973, and have been married 42 years. We have 2 grown children and 5 grandchildren, all of whom we absolutely adore.

Merrie purchased this house in 2015

Why Merrie chose Grand Canyon

Merrie grew up in the area, and has always called it 'home'. She loves the mountains, pines and oaks, and the quiet pace of the location. She remembers this mountainside community from her childhood, and calls it enchanting. We are confident you will enjoy the property, and make many happy memories there.

What makes this house unique

We found this home in March 2015, and fell in love at first sight. Although it needed a lot of work, we knew we could make it prettier than ever. The views are amazing, both day and night, and the setting is more like being in the country rather than town. We still have a lot of plans for making the property even better, but we want to make it available to you right away. We know you will love it!!!

Wonderful house in Williams to enjoy all the sights of AZ

  • 5 of 5

Bethel Cottage was the perfect home base for us to enjoy the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and the Petrified Forrest. All of the Route 66 history was a bonus that we were not expecting. The house was larger than we expected based on the square feet and was much more than we needed for 2 people. But it was much more cost effective and comfortable than a hotel for our 5 night stay in the area. The washer and dryer was much appreciated after accumulating lots of dust during multiple days of hiking. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a gas grill as well. Would highly recommend staying at Bethel Cottage.

Highly recommend!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this lovely cottage for the two nights. Very close to town (never walked because we had 2 kids with us). She had everything we could have needed. Took us approximately 1 hr to get to the South Rim. Anyone looking for a charming town to enjoy while visiting the Grand Canyon, this is your place!

Bethel Cottage, Williams AZ

The property was absolutely precious. The beds were comfy and the décor was right out of an HGTV decorator home preview!!!!! It was a pleasure to stay at such a nice, comfortable property.

Staying at Bethel Cottage was a blessing!

  • 5 of 5

We highly recommend this well-appointed dwelling. It's a lovely setting just a few blocks up from the historic Downtown district in Williams. The location is very convenient, both for doing things in town and for exploring the surrounding region. The home itself is comfortable, nicely remodeled, and well-stocked. Everything was in working order and we had no inconveniences to deal with. And the Owners are friendly and very helpful. We will not hesitate to stay there again when we go back to the area!

Lovely cottage in Williams

  • 5 of 5

My husband, adult daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage. Well located between the Grand Canyon and Sedona, it is also within walking distance of the town of Williams. The house was immaculate and well appointed. It felt cozy yet spacious, with a modern kitchen and updated bathroom. The house had very comfortable beds, lots of lighting and three big TVs. Merrie the owner was a pleasure to work with, responding quickly to my questions. For in town restaurants, check out the Red Raven, the Historic Brewing Company, Kicks on Route 66 and the Italian bistro. Just Roughin' It is great for a private Grand Canyon hike while the Hike House in Sedona also offers a tremendous privately guided hiking experience. Don't miss Bearizona in Williams for amazing up close animal experiences and The Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona for spectacular views. We enjoyed every minute of our first trip to Arizona and highly recommend the Bethel cottage as the perfect place to stay!
