Wonderful cabin in the mountains
Great cabin, comfortable, rustic feel, well maintained with new appliances and two good sized bedrooms on 2nd landing. Cabin is off scenic route 100. Location is 20 minutes from killington and Woodstock. Dining options are great in these two locations. Host was very accommodating and responsive.
Beautiful VT vacation home!
The home seems brand new (it even smells new!), is warm and cozy and is perfectly located between Okemo and Killington. Everything you need - right down to board games and DVDs is supplied. The washer and dryer came in handy for our ski clothes. And the radiant heat kept us cozy warm even during days and nights with sub-zero temperatures. It also has a steam shower (which sadly I didn’t get to try).
The property owners are super responsive and helpful - on Saturday night during our stay our car got stuck in the driveway during a heavy snowfall. We called the owners and within minutes a plow came, cleared the driveway and got our car unstuck.
I would definitely stay here again.
The Ginch and Towel Inn
If you're in the mood for clean sheets and IPA (isopropyl alcohol, not beer), then bring them with you... don't forget to pack one fewer ginch in your bag because the first tainted whitey-tighty is on the house at the Ginch and Towel Inn! The modern washer and dryers easily handle the hairy pillowcases, sheets, and soiled towels that you'll find on arrival. This cabin itself may be nice, but the true meaning of beauty is in paying the ginch forward, making your customers have to wash the linens when they get there at night, and still charging a cleaning fee.
Illegal drug use is not permitted on property,
and there are no additional cleaning fees.
Christmas at Killington
Loved the house, very clean and cozy, we had a ton of fun, 15 minutes from Killington and 15 minutes from Woodstock, which is such a beautiful town.
Gorgeous, quiet, wonderful vacation house!
My family had an amazing autumn weekend staying in this house. It is a gorgeous property. The well-appointed kitchen, the comfy living room, the loft-style bedrooms and THAT bathroom. Wow! What a shower! Everyone in the family raved about the multi-head, steam shower. Felt like a relaxing massage every time you got in. And then there were those huge windows looking out into the gorgeous changing leaves outside. It was beyond perfect.
I found the Plymouth area and the surrounding towns to be one of the prettiest areas in Vermont. It was almost sensory overload. Stunning lakes... Babbling brooks... Spectacular fall foliage... And covered bridges. Literally everything you could want.
The owners of the house were awesome, offered great communication and were really accommodating to our needs. The house was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. They provided sheets, towels, coffee pods and many kitchen staples so we felt quite equipped when we walked in. And they refunded our security deposit right away too.
The house is situated up on a steep hill, so I can see where a four-wheel drive vehicle would be absolutely essential in the winter, but we had no trouble getting up to the house in the fall.
If I had one very small quibble, it would be that I was sorry that there wasn't a good deal of usable outdoor space. No porch or patio. No outdoor furniture. We happened to be there on a weekend with lovely weather. I wish we'd put a few outdoor chairs in the back of the car so we could have sat outside and drank a glass of wine while enjoying the stunning scenery. Next time I'll remember to do that. And I certainly hope there is a next time because this house is a keeper!
This property is wonderful! I can't recommend it enough.
Quiet, Comfortable, with a Great Shower
My daughters tell me it will be worth going back to this house just to experience once again the steam-equipped, multi-head shower, even if there is no snow at the local ski resorts. The house is clean and beautifully-made. There are five beds in all, two of them doubles. The laundry machines are built for a big family, and had no trouble drying our ski clothes. The plumbing and heating are quiet and effective. The wireless network was easy to connect to. The owner says a four-wheel drive is needed to get up the hill, and I expect she is correct for the night immediately after a snow fall. But we put winter tires on the front of our minivan and we made it up just fine, even with patches of frozen meltwater on the driveway. There is no dining room table, but we were able to gather around the kitchen counter-top with stools and a couple of people standing, and in that way we have two fine dinners together. The upstairs bedrooms provide visual privacy, and they provide an overlook to the living room, so you can see out through the huge windows in the morning. Now, if you have a member of your group who snores like a train, you had better bring some earplugs, because you will hear him or her throughout the house. But we did not have that problem, and we all slept well. The location is convenient for Killington, which is fifteen minutes drive up Rt.100 and Rt.4, and Okemo is perhaps half an hour south on Rt.100.
