House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)
Welcome to Coho House, situated in a quiet established neighbourhood of Garibaldi Highlands. The woodland garden leads directly into protected Coho Park - a beautiful and typical example of this rare Temperate Rainforest. In November, Coho salmon make their way upstream from the Fraser River and spawn in our creeks, inviting a huge eagle population to the area.
The house itself is on the second floor with a large 20'x20' deck in the front and a split level cedar deck in the back. Take a closer look at the rich birdlife during the day with a StarGazer telescope and wrap up warm in the evening to enjoy the sounds of nocturnal wildlife from the back deck.
The kitchen is modern and fully equipped for entertaining large parties, with a bar and breakfast nook.
The master bedroom with Queen sized bed offers spectacular glacier views in the early morning. Sliding doors open onto the central deck. The bathroom is a semi en-suite arrangement, accessible from this bedroom and from the hall.
Two hazelnut trees in the woodland garden are visible from the double bed in the 2nd bedroom.
There is an extra futon available for extra sleeping if necessary.

About Zoë Evamy
Originally from the UK, I am an artist with a background in animated Film +TV. For years I lived a typically nomadic lifestyle, moving from contract to contract around Europe, the US and finally Canada. In 2000 I moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Vancouver and joined a 3D animation company. At the end of my first contract in Vancouver, I made a solo trip to the Queen Charlotte Islands on my motorbike. It was an incredible trip which gave me an insight into the beauty and mystery of the Pacific Northwest Coast. I knew I would never run out of places to paint in BC and that this was somewhere I could put down roots. Through my life of travels I have been treated to wonderful hospitality from friends, family and strangers - I dreamed of one day having a place of my own that I could share. I now work from my home studio on the ground floor of the house - visitors are welcome by appointment.
Zoë Evamy purchased this House in 2004
Why Zoë Evamy chose Squamish
My initial reason for buying a home in Squamish was its ideal location, half way between Vancouver and Whistler. I commuted for 6 years and was always thrilled by the stunning views and changing weather patterns along the Sea to Sky highway. I was drawn to the small town feel of Squamish, the peaceful, more established area in Garibaldi Highlands and the local scenery. The more time I spent in Squamish the more I found it full of pleasant surprises! As self professed 'Outdoor Adventure Capital of the World!' Squamish has a rich local history, a large and growing art community (30 art groups in town) and a diverse population that is passionate about the surrounding environment.
What makes this House unique
Imagine waking up to a sunrise over the glaciers seen from the master bedroom, enjoy locally roasted coffee and fresh bread baked on the premises. Your choices of activities for the days ahead are numerous and varied. The woodland garden leads directly into protected Coho Park - a beautiful example of a rare Temperate Rainforest. Coho salmon make their way upstream from the Fraser River and spawn in our creeks, inviting a huge eagle population to the area. From here you can follow bike or foot trails which lead to nearby Provincial Park, Alice Lake. If you prefer something more extreme and exhilerating, you could book a helicopter flight from nearby Squamish airport and view Garibaldi Provincial Park from the air. World Class skiing is 45 mins away in Whistler, 30 minutes to pristine cross country trails at the Callaghan Valley.

Lovely property with beautiful artwork
Our host, Zoe, was very helpful in ensuring our stay was comfortable and relaxing. My family and I appreciated the beauty of the home and the artwork, the well-stocked kitchen, and the comfort of the living room and beds at night. The view of the mountains from the front of the house is breathtaking. Everyone in our party gave the rental a heartfelt thumbs up.
Squamish itself is an active community with many great outdoor activities to enjoy and many excellent restaurants, coffee-shops, bakeries and pubs to visit. We will be back!
Great home, great art, great community for whistler commute
The space was great for a week of skiing in whistler. The living area is perfect for relaxing and has beautifully view of the mountains on the distance. Zoe is an artist and has some of her pieces on the wall throughout the home. Zoe is nearby ready to help of you need anything, great stay. Thanks!
Spacious and comfortable
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coho house! It was spacious, comfortable and inviting for our group of 4. Zoe gave us clear directions to help us get in, and had the winter olympic games set up on the TV ready for us! She also has lots of beautiful and interesting art to make the place unique. Just remember to bring your own shampoo and soaps! We stayed here so we could attend a backcountry course in Whistler and we would stay again.
A beautiful trail directly behind the home and a relaxing atmosphere
This home is really fully stocked, had more than I needed. Host was very accommodating and considerate. It was great and a place I'd love to return
Perfect Squamish weekend getaway
We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend here celebrating my wife's 40th birthday with another couple. The location was both perfect for relaxing and a perfect base for mountain biking and climbing. It was so nice to spend the day getting worked on the trails and at the crag and then have this cozy abode to return to grab a shower, relax, and cook a nice dinner. Zoë, the host, who lives on sight in a separate apartment, was extremely welcoming and responsive. One evening while cooking dinner, we ran out of olive oil. I sent a text asking if she had any to spare, to which she responded by placing a bottle from her kitchen next to the door and buying a full bottle the next day. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a reasonably priced Squamish accommodation. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.
