The cabin was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cabin for a week, arriving July 2 and departing on July 9. This was our very first Vrbo rental and if they were all like this, we would do it again in a heartbeat! Let me first start off by telling you that when we walked in, the cabin was immaculate. We rarely stay in a hotel because it grosses me out. There was not one spec of food anywhere, one stain anywhere, etc. Right then and there I felt comfortable.

The kitchen was nice. We did appreciate the basics like salt and pepper, cooking spray, and seasoning for grilling. The only kitchen item we did miss was a pizza pan or cookie sheet for the first night that we brought in a make and take pizza, but we definitely made do.

The bedrooms were great. The master bedroom mattress was actually more comfortable than ours at home. The decor made us feel like we were home. Cracking open the window at night to listen to the river was awesome and it let in some fresh, crisp air! The bunk bed was ideal for families. We didn't hear the complaints of "she's putting her feet on me...".

The living room was just enough space for coming "home" after a long days hike to just chill out for a while. Our kids appreciated the satellite tv to watch a few of their shows before going to bed.

Thank you for having a washing machine and dryer in the unit!! I didn't do much laundry but it was nice for mid-week when we needed a few extra clean items.

We spent a lot of time out on the deck! Loved the composite deck (we have the same at our home). It's so nice to walk out here and not get splinters in your feet. The table and chairs were a wonderful addition that we didn't know about. We ate every dinner out there taking in the wonderful scenery.

We also spent a lot of time down at the river. That's the very first thing the kids wanted to do when we got there was to go fishing. Grant it, we didn't catch anything (could be that we are amateurs) but it was fun trying! One afternoon we just stayed there because we had a very long hike early in the morning. The sun felt so good as we looked through all of the wonderful reading material that's in the cabin about Estes Park. A few drinks and a snack at the river was the perfect afternoon just to recoop from the long hike.

Thank you, Alex, for the wonderful opportunity to stay here! I've already had friends ask where we stayed and I'm happy to pass the information onto them. We would love to come back as a family, too, maybe in a few years. Thanks again!

Great getaway cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was just right. We were about 30 yards from the Big Thompson River and has several very large elk come near! The cabin itself was indeed cozy. Even though the weather was moderate, we have a fire both nights. Estes Park is such a lovely town and we will definitely return. Thank you, Alex, you are a fine host. Scott and Betsy, Denver

Wonderful Cabin! Felt like home!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin has all the comforts of home. It was spotless, nicely decorated, and the beds were comfortable. I had stayed in this cabin when it was a part of the Mountain Haven cabins and thought it was comfortable then, but the improvements Alex made definitely enhanced our experience. It was great to have the washer/dryer and dishwasher as well as the very, well appointed kitchen. I had packed a box of kitchen items that are usually missing in a cabin and it turned out that I didn't need any of it. The ceiling fans are also a nice addition to keep a breeze moving since it was unusually warm. The green space to the river made a nice place to sit and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. We were away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but still within walking distance. We would not hesitate to rent this cabin again.

Simply Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay here and once again it met all our needs and was simply delightful to come back to each afternoon after a day of hiking. The cabin is perfectly located for easy access into RMNP and the Wild Basin area. The kitchen is great to cook in and we truly appreciate having the washer and dryer to wash our clothes in every couple of days.

Alex is so great to work with. He always responds promptly to any question we have and is so accommodating. We won't ever stay anywhere but here when we come explore the Rocky Mountains.

excellent experience

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was spotless, beds are comfortable, nicely decorated, exactly as pictured. Alex was easy to work with. Only suggestion would be a tv channel list. This was the best vrbo experience we have had. Get up early & sit on the deck with camera by 6:15. We had a 14 pt. buck & his harem of 15 elk, with nursing mom, in the front yard & in the green space to the river. An hour & 50 pictures later we finally got ready to go to the park. Didn't see as many or got as close there. Nice neighbors. Go to Jimmi's BBQ down the road. Food was great. We highly recommend this cabin.
