About Cindy Smith
Although our families lives halfway across the country from on another (Kansas, Oklahoma, Virginia), Maine has been a summer staple for generations. A house that was built four generations ago has served as a getaway, for some for a week, for others, the whole summer. A quiet place for board games, VHS movies, tubing, books and laughter, this home has shaped who each of us are as individuals in some shape or form. Barbara Smith, for some, "Grandma Bobbie," for others "Mom," carried on the Maine tradition, gathering the family here each summer, and with her passing several years ago, this home has become an even more sacred place for our family. Although most of the grandchildren are now adults themselves, and all of our lives have taken vastly different paths, we all know that Maine is there for us, waiting each summer, to bring us together, to celebrate the vibrant life of Bobbie, and to spend a week basking in the unparalleled joy that is spending time together in such a beautiful place.

Perfect set up for our wedding weekend!
My husband and I got married at Sebago Lake this past weekend. We wanted to spend as much time as possible with our friends and family that had made the long trip up to the area to celebrate with us, so we booked this house to serve as lodging for ourselves as well as many of our guests. The house is uniquely located so that it's near others in the community with close access to the marina and local restaurants, but also secluded enough to give you great privacy and quiet. Located right across the road from the lake with no other properties in between, it has its own private lakefront area with both anchored and floating docks. The newly renovated large kitchen area was perfect for a bustling wedding-prep central. Fully stocked, it felt like we weren't away from home at all and had everything we needed. The spacious five bedrooms can sleep 16 comfortably, and up to 19 if necessary. The two large bathrooms accommodated the high guest count perfectly. The private screened-in porch at the back of the house was a great place for us all to stay up way too late, and spend great quality time together. On the wedding day, my photographer loved some of the vintage details in the main bedroom where we got ready and the front porch so we ended up taking many of our wedding photos right there! The owner Cindy was immediately available for any questions we had and responded quickly. We couldn't be happier with our choice to make many of our wedding memories in this house and highly recommend it to anyone considering a vacation at beautiful Sebago Lake!
Fun for the whole family
Maine is a special place and this home provided it all.
Perfect spot for families!
This home is a perfect blend of old & new. The original front porch, parlor & upstairs bedrooms has that down home camp feel that is so cozy. The newer, huge kitchen is awesome for everyone in the family to gather and cook, visit, play games, do crafts, all ages all together. The Lake is breathtaking with the most spectacular sunrise anywhere. Thank-you, Baldwin Family for sharing your home!
The Lakes Region is spectacular, offering endless opportunities for adventure. You can boat, tube and paddle on the water all day or venture off other lake destinations, like Naples, for parasailing, sea plane rides, ice cream, golf, sunset watching over dinner. Across the lake, North Windham offers familiar box stores (Walmart, Hanford, Lowes, Home Depot etc..), restaurants, movies, mini golf and more. Lots of nearby hikes, including Douglass Mountain which offers wild blueberries and stunning views from the tower spanning the White Mountains of New Hampshire to Maine's Atlantic coast. Within an hour from our home, you can visit L.L. Bean and outlet shops in Freeport, see a moose, join a whale watching tour, shop, visit museums, see shows, hear music, eat great food and even take a walking ghost tour through Portland. Ocean beaches beckon, whether you want waterparks, oceanfront thrill rides, massive arcades, shopping, bars or weekly fireworks, Old Orchard Beach has it all.
