Grand Lake House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 8-13)

Spend your vacation or holidays enjoying the Magic of Rocky Mountain National Park and the Three Lakes area within an easy walk from this home located in the Arapahoe National Recreation Area. Enjoy the beauty and majesty of the Rocky Mountains and Grand Lake just outside your door from this newer, beautiful mountain home next to Shadow Mountain Lake and the Rocky Mountain National Park with panoramic views the mountains.

Maximize your time outdoors on the lake with the canoe and 3 Kayaks included for family fun on the water or by taking in the spectacular mountain vistas and wildlife from the many upper and lower decks . Or spend a lazy afternoon lounging on the hammock while reading your favorite novel. And don't forget to make s'mores in the campfire pit. In Winter, nestle up on the couch with your favorite book or read a story to your family as the gas fireplace glows with warmth as the snow gently falls outside the windows. (Note: you have to transport canoe or kayaks to lake with your own vehicle and tie downs)

We are just four minutes from the town of Grand Lake and the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Grand Lake provides a classic 'old west' town ambiance and fun for the whole family. From there you can enjoy the shops, restaurants, mini-golf, guided horseback riding, guided and unguided snowmobile and ATV rentals, go-carts, bumper boats and more.

Rocky Mountain National Park is home to an abundant wildlife population including elk, deer, moose, bears, porcupines and foxes (many of these pass through the rental property as well). Miles of hiking and snowshoeing trails are accessible from the home as well as access to the National Park and the Arapahoe National Recreation area.

Trail Ridge Marina is just down the road and offers pontoon and sport-boat rentals. For the adventurous, you can also snowmobile across the lakes in the winter! Book early as this is a year round vacation rental and books full and fast each season. There is no better place to spend the holidays than in the mountains of Colorado.

NOTE: We DO NOT allow gatherings or events (family reunions, weddings, rehearsal dinners, etc.) of any kind to take place in our home. The home is restricted to the specific number of guests staying in the home that we approve and can accommodate for sleeping. We receive multiple inquiries as such so want to provide notification here to help save you time in your vacation rental search.

Very nice property

  • 4 of 5

Loved waking up in the morning and having coffee on the front patio. Fun was had by all, wished the property was what my first impression that it was on the lake. But not far away. Need a vehicle to be able to carry kayaks to the lake. All things you need for your stay they have. It was hard figuring out the lighting system, especially in the main bedroom. Also the lights on the porch need to be fixed, they are loose so don't always come on. Was a little harder to play games out on the deck at the nights we played. But very spacious. Loved all the patios from the main, and upstairs. Made it very nice to do things on your own. Everything was very clean. I would go back again. The last day was spent just hanging at the house, no need to go anywhere since it had a great homey feeling.

Outstanding Stay in Grand Lake

  • 5 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The property met or exceeded all of our expectations. The home had all the amenities that we needed such as internet, TV, and a wide array of cooking utensils including trash bags, coffee filters, dishwasher detergent, etc. The home was clean and neat when we arrived (and departed). This home is a great value near the town of Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. Joe, we would suggest some written instructions for the TV and the various remotes. Took us awhile to figure it out.

Really enjoyed our stay!

  • 4 of 5

This is a very nice home in a very nice (and very pretty) area. Really enjoyed the cabin feel and there was plenty of room for our group of 11. I was already very familiar with the area, so for me, it was more about visiting with the family. We did go over Trail Ridge to Estes Park and do some activities in Grand Lake. Also went hiking in the area. Did not use the provided kayaks and canoe due to distance from the house to the lake (plus the water was cold in June). Noticed low water pressure once during our stay and called Joe and he answered right away. Pressure actually came back while I was on the phone with him (not a problem with the property). Bottom line is I would not have a problem recommending this property. There were some small issues (carpet stains, knobs on closet doors missing, needed dish wash cloths, we had to wash off deck and table/chairs before use, and a few more towels would have been nice), but these things were minor and did not detract from our enjoyment of the property.

Absolutely beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time at Joe's cottage in the mountains! The house was beautiful and close to walk to the lake and a quick drive into both Grand Lake and Lake Granby.

Joe had many recommendations for hikes and activities for our whole family and dog. We kept busy and stayed relaxed the entire week.

Thanks so much Joe for sharing your beautiful home!

Great Setting for a "Winter Wonderland" Gathering!

  • 4 of 5

This house was perfect for our extended family get away between Christmas and New Year's Day! The area was quiet and the views from the loft, of the sparkling snow in the trees and on the mountain were lovely. We enjoyed walks and used the snowshoes for short snowshoeing treks right outside our doors, and the sleds on the free sledding hill (recommended by the maintenance man) on the edge of town which provided several hours of fun for many in our group on two occasions. There was room for all of us (12) to gather in the main living/dining area for games and meals, while the additional space in the family room downstairs and the sitting area in the loft allowed for privacy and smaller, more intimate groupings. The large kitchen was amazingly well provisioned with plates, utensils, pots and pans and many appliances like a crock pot, a blender, etc. We had a few maintenance issues, like a thermostat in the master bedroom that wouldn't come on and a fireplace in the same room that didn't work which made for a chilly first night for two in our party, but the maintenance man was quick to respond the next day to assess the problem and secured a repairman within a few hours, who was at least able to replace the thermostat and bring the temperature up a little. The pantry was in a bit of disarray when we arrived and had a number out-dated food items stored in it, as did the refrigerator, and there were signs of less-than-optimum cleaning (cobwebs from the loft railing to the dining room light, messy cabinets under the kitchen and bathroom sinks) here and there, but we didn't let these detract from our overall enjoyment of this property. We'd definitely recommend this house for large families or groups and would enjoy experiencing it in the summer, too, some time in the future!
