About Kristi Hatfield

My Husband and I both grew up in the Flathead Valley, and moved back after our college education to raise a family in Columbia Falls.

We enjoy getting out and exploring this beautiful place we live every chance we get.

Kristi Hatfield purchased this bungalow in 2008

Why Kristi Hatfield chose Glacier Park

We purchased this property to provide visitors to the Flathead a quiet and peaceful place to stay that is close to nature and centrally located to the airport, train station and Glacier Park. Columbia Falls is a friendly community and the Gateway to Glacier.

What makes this bungalow unique

We are outdoor enthusiasts and happy to share our favorite places to visit and explore- whether it be bird watching, fishing or hiking in the Park and nearby National Forest trails.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was the perfect place to celebrate Valentine's Day and a long weekend. It was so cozy and a wonderful little retreat. Much better than a condo like you said! Many thanks again for your warm hospitality and recommendations!

Nice little house not too far from West Glacier

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience staying at Kristi's bungalow. It is well kept. Perfect for a family of four with young children who can share a sofa bed. The clean up instructions were pretty standard compared to other rentals we have stayed at. They even have a can of Bear Spray in the closet! Kristi was very prompt in answering my questions. Overall it was a pleasant stay. This bungalow is also a short hike from the beautiful Flathead river. After an easy walk through the woods, you will come to the banks of Flathead river where you can spend an hour or two.

Don't forget to grab dinner at Los Caporales on Nucleus Ave.

Clean, fenced yard, very close to a local park.

  • 4 of 5

This home was clean and well furnished. The fenced yard was wonderful for our golden retriever. Wonderful location close to a park, less than a block away. Also, close to National park. We did not spend a lot of time on the property, we were busy exploring the area. But it was a quiet place with a comfortable bed to help us rest up for the next days adventure. We would recommend this home.

Lovely little home in tranquil setting...

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here for 5 nights while we explored Glacier Park -- great location close to the west entrance. The bungalow was clean and we loved having a full kitchen so we could eat breakfast in and pack lunches for our day trips. The A/C was welcomed after returning from a hot day of hiking. Neighborhood was very quiet. Would recommend this for couples and small families...

Good base from which to explore Glacier National Park

  • 4 of 5

This was a mostly comfortable and convenient place to stay. The 15-20 minute drive to Glacier was no big deal, and the property is convenient to a number of restaurants and grocery stores.

We liked the well stocked kitchen and the small deck that looks onto a fenced in back yard.

Two complaints: 1. The bed /mattress was perhaps THE worst we have ever slept on. Truly awful. Please replace.

2. Check out procedures demanded that we mop, vacuum and whole list of crap. We've stayed in a number of VRBO properties. Sure, you often have to take out the garbage, put the sheets and towels in a pile to be washed, whatever. We felt like this was kind of over the top. What are we paying you for? You want us to mow the lawn and do your taxes too?

Overall, our experience here was positive. Outside of the check out procedures, we would consider staying there again.

Owner's Response: Geoff, Thanks for the information on the mattress. We will get that taken care of. I have updated the check out procedure in the book at the Bungalow, and just have not figured out how to get an updated version on the VRBO website since they have made so many changes recently. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Glacier Park, there is so much to see and do here that is is difficult to fit it all in during a short stay. Please come back to visit again soon and ask us about our returning visitor discount. Best Wishes, Kristi & Shayne
